ਪੰਖੀ ਬਿਰਖਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਚੁਗੈ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥

Pankhee Birakh Suhaavarraa Sach Chugai Gur Bhaae ||

पंखी

बिरखि सुहावड़ा सचु चुगै गुर भाइ ॥

ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ

ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਦੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਖਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
The soul-bird in the beautiful tree of the body pecks at Truth, with love for the Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਉਡੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

Har Ras Peevai Sehaj Rehai Ouddai N Aavai Jaae ||

हरि

रसु पीवै सहजि रहै उडै न आवै जाइ ॥

ਹਰਿ

ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਭੱਟਕਣਾ ਛੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
She drinks in the Sublime Essence of the Lord, and abides in intuitive ease; she does not fly around coming and going.

ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

Nij Ghar Vaasaa Paaeiaa Har Har Naam Samaae ||1||

निज

घरि वासा पाइआ हरि हरि नामि समाइ ॥१॥

ਆਪਣਾ

ਅਸਲੀ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਹਰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੱਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ||1||

She obtains her home within her own heart; she is absorbed into the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥

मन

रे गुर की कार कमाइ ॥

ਮਨ

ਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦੱਸਾ ਆਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ।
O mind, work to serve the Guru.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਚਲਹਿ ਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਚਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

गुर

कै भाणै जे चलहि ता अनदिनु राचहि हरि नाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੇ ਚੱਲੀਏ। ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਖੁਮਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
If you walk in harmony with the Guru's Will, you shall remain immersed in the Lord's Name, night and day. ||1||Pause||

ਪੰਖੀ ਬਿਰਖ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੇ ਊਡਹਿ ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥

पंखी

बिरख सुहावड़े ऊडहि चहु दिसि जाहि ॥

ਸਰੀਰ

ਸੋਹਣਿਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਘੁੰਮਦੇ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਨੇ।
The birds in the beautiful trees fly around in all four directions.

ਜੇਤਾ ਊਡਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਘਣੇ ਨਿਤ ਦਾਝਹਿ ਤੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਹਿ ॥

Jaethaa Ooddehi Dhukh Ghanae Nith Dhaajhehi Thai Bilalaahi ||

जेता

ऊडहि दुख घणे नित दाझहि तै बिललाहि ॥

ਜਿੰਨਾਂ

ਜੀਵ ਭੱਟਕਾਗੇ ਰੋਗ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਦੱਰਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਰਲਾਉਣਗੇ।
The more they fly around, the more they suffer; they burn and cry out in pain.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਪਈ ਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੨॥

बिनु

गुर महलु न जापई ना अम्रित फल पाहि ॥२॥

ਵਗੈਰ

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਸਦਾ। ਤਾਹੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||
Without the Guru, they do not find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, and they do not obtain the Ambrosial Fruit. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹਰੀਆਵਲਾ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

Guramukh Breham Hareeaavalaa Saachai Sehaj Subhaae ||

गुरमुखि

ब्रहमु हरीआवला साचै सहजि सुभाइ ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ

ਰੱਬੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। The Gurmukh is like God's tree, always green, blessed with the Sublime Love of the True One, with intuitive peace and poise.

ਸਾਖਾ ਤੀਨਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੀਆ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥

Saakhaa Theen Nivaareeaa Eaek Sabadh Liv Laae ||

साखा

तीनि निवारीआ एक सबदि लिव लाइ ॥

ਮਾਇਆ

ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਂ।
He cuts off the three branches of the three qualities, and embraces love for the One Word of the Shabad.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਖਵਾਇ ॥੩॥

अम्रित

फलु हरि एकु है आपे देइ खवाइ ॥३॥

ਰੱਬ

ਕੋਲੇ ਇਕੋ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਰੱਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਜੱਪਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||3||
The Lord alone is the Ambrosial Fruit; He Himself gives it to us to eat. ||3||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਊਭੇ ਸੁਕਿ ਗਏ ਨਾ ਫਲੁ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਛਾਉ ॥

Manamukh Oobhae Suk Geae Naa Fal Thinnaa Shhaao ||

मनमुख

ऊभे सुकि गए ना फलु तिंना छाउ ॥

ਮਨਮੁਖ

ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸੁੱਕ ਗਏ। ਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਆਪ ਕੀਤਾ। ਨਾਂ ਆਪਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਇਆ।
The self-willed manmukhs stand there and dry up; they do not bear any fruit, and they do not provide any shade.

ਤਿੰਨਾ ਪਾਸਿ ਨ ਬੈਸੀਐ ਓਨਾ ਘਰੁ ਨ ਗਿਰਾਉ ॥

Thinnaa Paas N Baiseeai Ounaa Ghar N Giraao ||

तिंना

पासि न बैसीऐ ओना घरु न गिराउ ॥

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਗਲੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।
Don't even bother to sit near them-they have no home or village.

ਕਟੀਅਹਿ ਤੈ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਲੀਅਹਿ ਓਨਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥

Katteeahi Thai Nith Jaaleeahi Ounaa Sabadh N Naao ||4||

कटीअहि

तै नित जालीअहि ओना सबदु न नाउ ॥४॥

ਉਹ

ਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਪੀੜ ਨਾਲ ਜਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ||4||
They are cut down and burnt each day; they have neither the Shabad, nor the Lord's Name. ||4||

ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਫਿਰਾਉ ॥

Hukamae Karam Kamaavanae Paeiai Kirath Firaao ||

हुकमे

करम कमावणे पइऐ किरति फिराउ ॥

ਭਾਣੇ

ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਖ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫਿਰ ਲੇਖਾ ਭੋਗਣਾਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
According to the Lord's Command, people perform their actions; they wander around, driven by the karma of their past actions.

ਹੁਕਮੇ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਜਹ ਭੇਜਹਿ ਤਹ ਜਾਉ ॥

Hukamae Dharasan Dhaekhanaa Jeh Bhaejehi Theh Jaao ||

हुकमे

दरसनु देखणा जह भेजहि तह जाउ ॥

ਭਾਂਣੇ

ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਥੇ ਜਨਮ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the Lord's Command, they behold the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. Wherever He sends them, there they go.

ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੫॥

Hukamae Har Har Man Vasai Hukamae Sach Samaao ||5||

हुकमे

हरि हरि मनि वसै हुकमे सचि समाउ ॥५॥

ਰੱਬ

ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਹਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||5||

By His Command, the Lord, Har, Har, abides within our minds; by His Command we merge in Truth. ||5||

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਬਪੁੜੇ ਭੂਲੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥

Hukam N Jaanehi Bapurrae Bhoolae Firehi Gavaar ||

हुकमु

न जाणहि बपुड़े भूले फिरहि गवार ॥

ਜੋ

ਭਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ। ਉਹ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਵਿਛੜੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The wretched fools do not know the Lord's Will; they wander around making mistakes.

ਮਨਹਠਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਹੋਹਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥

Manehath Karam Kamaavadhae Nith Nith Hohi Khuaar ||

मनहठि

करम कमावदे नित नित होहि खुआरु ॥

ਮਨ

ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਭੋਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਫਜ਼ੂਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
They go about their business stubborn-mindedly; they are disgraced forever and ever.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਨਾ ਸਚਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੬॥

अंतरि

सांति न आवई ना सचि लगै पिआरु ॥६॥

ਮਨ

ਅੰਦਰ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਨਾ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ||6||

Inner peace does not come to them; they do not embrace love for the True Lord. ||6||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀਆ ਮੁਹ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥

Guramukheeaa Muh Sohanae Gur Kai Haeth Piaar ||

गुरमुखीआ

मुह सोहणे गुर कै हेति पिआरि ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ

ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Beautiful are the faces of the Gurmukhs, who bear love and affection for the Guru.

ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰ ॥

Sachee Bhagathee Sach Rathae Dhar Sachai Sachiaar ||

सची

भगती सचि रते दरि सचै सचिआर ॥

ਸੱਚੀ

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੱਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਰ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Through true devotional worship, they are attuned to Truth; at the True Door, they are found to be true.

ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਕੁਲ ਕਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥੭॥

Aaeae Sae Paravaan Hai Sabh Kul Kaa Karehi Oudhhaar ||7||

आए

से परवाणु है सभ कुल का करहि उधारु ॥७॥

ਉਹੀ

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ। ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਸਫ਼ਲਾ ਹਨ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਾਂਨਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਕਤੀ ਦੁਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ||7||
Blessed is their coming into being; they redeem all their ancestors. ||7||

ਸਭ ਨਦਰੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਨਦਰੀ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

Sabh Nadharee Karam Kamaavadhae Nadharee Baahar N Koe ||

सभ

नदरी करम कमावदे नदरी बाहरि न कोइ ॥

ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ

ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੇਖਾ ਜੋਖਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਤੋ ਕੋਈਂ ਉਹਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
All do their deeds under the Lord's Glance of Grace; no one is beyond His Vision.

ਜੈਸੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਸਚਾ ਤੈਸਾ ਹੀ ਕੋ ਹੋਇ ॥

Jaisee Nadhar Kar Dhaekhai Sachaa Thaisaa Hee Ko Hoe ||

जैसी

नदरि करि देखै सचा तैसा ही को होइ ॥

ਸੱਚਾ

ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ, ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
According to the Glance of Grace with which the True Lord beholds us, so do we become.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੮॥੩॥੨੦॥

Naanak Naam Vaddaaeeaa Karam Paraapath Hoe ||8||3||20||

नामि वडाईआ करमि परापति होइ ॥८॥३॥२०॥

ਨਾਨਕ

ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣਾ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਭਾਗ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ||8||3||20||

O Nanak, the Glorious Greatness of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is received only by His Mercy. ||8||3||20||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥

Guramukh Naam Dhhiaaeeai Manamukh Boojh N Paae ||

गुरमुखि

नामु धिआईऐ मनमुखि बूझ न पाइ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੈਠ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ

ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੋਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
The Gurmukhs meditate on the Naam; the self-willed manmukhs do not understand.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

Guramukh Sadhaa Mukh Oojalae Har Vasiaa Man Aae ||

गुरमुखि

सदा मुख ऊजले हरि वसिआ मनि आइ ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ

ਚੇਹਰਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਤਾਜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The faces of the Gurmukhs are always radiant; the Lord has come to dwell within their minds.

ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

Sehajae Hee Sukh Paaeeai Sehajae Rehai Samaae ||1||

सहजे

ही सुखु पाईऐ सहजे रहै समाइ ॥१॥

ਉਸ

ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਲੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||

सुहागु सुहागणी जे चलहि सतिगुर भाइ ॥

ਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਨਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The happy soul-bride is always with her Husband Lord, if she walks in harmony with the Will of the True Guru.

पिरु निहचलु पाईऐ ना ओहु मरै न जाइ ॥

ਪਤੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਂ ਮਰਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ।
She attains her Eternal, Ever-stable Husband, who never dies or goes away.

सबदि

मिली ना वीछुड़ै पिर कै अंकि समाइ ॥२॥

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਜੁਦਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦੀ। ਰੱਬ ਪਤੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਊਜਲਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

निरमलु अति ऊजला बिनु गुर पाइआ न जाइ ॥

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਉਚਾ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਵਗੈਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
The Lord is Immaculate and Radiantly Bright; without the Guru, He cannot be found.

ਪਾਠੁ ਪੜੈ ਨਾ ਬੂਝਈ ਭੇਖੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥

Paath Parrai Naa Boojhee Bhaekhee Bharam Bhulaae ||

पाठु

पड़ै ना बूझई भेखी भरमि भुलाइ ॥

ਬਾਣੀ

ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸੱਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਖੰਡੀ ਵਹਿਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਲੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
He cannot be understood by reading scriptures; the deceitful pretenders are deluded by doubt.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥

Guramathee Har Sadhaa Paaeiaa Rasanaa Har Ras Samaae ||3||

गुरमती

हरि सदा पाइआ रसना हरि रसु समाइ ॥३॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਅੱਕਲ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੁਬਾਨ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਾਲ ਰੁਝੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Through the Guru's Teachings, the Lord is always found, and the tongue is permeated with the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||3||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

मोहु चुकाइआ गुरमती सहजि सुभाइ ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ
ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਧੰਨ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਆਪੇ ਹੋਲੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
