O my mind, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਨਾਂਮ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਸਦਾ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਰੱਖ, ਮਰਨ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਲਏਗਾ॥

कीआ वडिआईआ कवनै आवहि कामि ॥

ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ।

ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਫਿਕਾ ਜਾਤੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥

माइआ

का रंगु सभु फिका जातो बिनसि निदानि ॥

ਸੰਸਾਰ

ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ, ਧੰਨ, ਦੋਲਤ, ਮੋਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੱਚੇ ਰੰਗ ਨੇ। ਮਰ ਕੇ ਛੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ।
All the pleasures of Maya are tasteless and insipid. In the end, they shall all fade away.

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥੨॥

कै हिरदै हरि वसै सो पूरा परधानु ॥२॥

ਜਿਸ

ਦੇ ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ, ਜਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
Perfectly fulfilled and supremely acclaimed is the one, in whose heart the Lord abides. ||2||

ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਟਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ, ਪੈਰਾਂ ਥੱਲੇ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਾਗੂ ਬਣ ਕੇ, ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ, ਆਪਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਭੁਲ ਜਾ।
Become the dust of the Saints; renounce your selfishness and conceit.

ਉਪਾਵ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲ ਛਡਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥

उपाव

सिआणप सगल छडि गुर की चरणी लागु ॥

ਸਾਰੀਆ

ਅੱਕਲਾ ਬਚਾਉ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੋਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ।
Give up all your schemes and your clever mental tricks, and fall at the Feet of the Guru.

परापति रतनु होइ जिसु मसतकि होवै भागु ॥३॥

ਤਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਮ ਰੱਬ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਜੀਵ, ਮਨੁੱਖੋਂ ਨਾਂਮ ਤਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Siblings of Destiny, it is received only when God Himself bestows it.

की सेवा सो करे जिसु बिनसै हउमै तापु ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਉਹੀ ਪਾਉਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਦਾ ਬੁਖਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
People serve the True Guru only when the fever of egotism has been eradicated.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੪॥੮॥੭੮॥

The One is the Knower of all beings; He alone is our Savior.

का मनि आसरा इको प्राण अधारु ॥

ਇੱਕੋ

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
The One is the Support of the mind; the One is the Support of the breath of life.

सरणाई सदा सुखु पारब्रहमु करतारु ॥१॥

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੁੱਖ ਅੰਨਦ ਹੈ। ਸਬ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ।

ਰੱਬ ਉਹੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਵੀਰ ਦੋਸਤ ਇੱਕੁ ਇੱਕੋਮਾਂ ਬਾਪ ਹੈ।
The One is my Brother, the One is my Friend. The One is my Mother and Father.

ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦਿਤਾ ॥

की मनि टेक है जिनि जीउ पिंडु दिता ॥

ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਓਟ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The One is the Support of the mind; He has given us body and soul.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥

ਰੱਬ ਜੀਅ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਭੁਲ ਜਾਏ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

सो प्रभु मनहु न विसरै जिनि सभु किछु वसि कीता ॥२॥

May I never forget God from my mind; He holds all in the Power of His Hands. ||2||

इको बाहरि इको थान थनंतरि आपि ॥

ਸਰੀਰ

ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਇਕੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਹਰ ਸਥਾਂਨ ਉਤੇ ਹੈ।
The One is within the home of the self, and the One is outside as well. He Himself is in all places and interspaces.

ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ।

Meditate twenty-four hours a day on the One who created all beings and creatures.

ਇਕਸੁ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੩॥

ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਵ ਲਾ ਲੈ, ਕੋਈ ਫਿ਼ਕਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੰਗ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ। ||3||
Attuned to the Love of the One, there is no sorrow or suffering. ||3||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥

पारब्रहमु

प्रभु एकु है दूजा नाही कोइ ॥

ਵੱਡਾ

ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀ।
There is only the One Supreme Lord God; there is no other at all.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

जीउ

पिंडु सभु तिस का जो तिसु भावै सु होइ ॥

ਮਨ

ਸਰੀਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਠੀਕ ਲੱਗੇ ਉਹੀ ਹੋਊਗਾ।
Soul and body all belong to Him; whatever pleases His Will comes to pass.

ਗੁਰੂ

ਪੂਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੱਚਾ ਜੱਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||4||9||79||
Through the Perfect Guru, one becomes perfect; O Nanak, meditate on the True One. ||4||9||79||

जिना

सतिगुर सिउ चितु लाइआ से पूरे परधान ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਚਿਤ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਉਹੀ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
Those who focus their consciousness on the True Guru are perfectly fulfilled and famous.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਨ ਉਪਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥

जिन

कउ आपि दइआलु होइ तिन उपजै मनि गिआनु ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਰੱਬ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ। ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
Spiritual wisdom wells up in the minds of those unto whom the Lord Himself shows Mercy.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥

जिन

कउ मसतकि लिखिआ तिन पाइआ हरि नामु ॥१॥

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Those who have such destiny written upon their foreheads obtain the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਕੋਲ, ਦਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਨਾਲ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ॥

मरण का भउ गइआ भाउ भगति गोपाल ॥

ਜਨਮ

ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ। ਮਨ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The fear of death and rebirth is removed by performing loving devotional service to the Lord of the World.

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥

साधू

संगति निरमला आपि करे प्रतिपाल ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ

ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਸੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one becomes immaculate and pure; the Lord Himself takes care of such a one.

मरण की मलु कटीऐ गुर दरसनु देखि निहाल ॥२॥

ਚਰਾਸੀ

ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਅੰਨਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The filth of birth and death is washed away, and one is uplifted, beholding the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. ||2||

ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

थनंतरि रवि रहिआ पारब्रहमु प्रभु सोइ ॥

ਰੱਬ

ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜ਼ੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਬ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Supreme Lord God is pervading all places and interspaces.

ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥

Sabhanaa Dhaathaa Eaek Hai Dhoojaa Naahee Koe ||

सभना

दाता एकु है दूजा नाही कोइ ॥

ਸਾਰਿਆ

ਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
The One is the Giver of all-there is no other at all.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥

तिसु

सरणाई छुटीऐ कीता लोड़े सु होइ ॥३॥

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀ ਲੱਗਿਆ। ਨੇੜੇ ਹੋਇਆ

, ਕੋਲੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੰਨਣ ਨਾਲ, ਪਾਪਾ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟਕਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||3||

In His Sanctuary, one is saved. Whatever He wishes, comes to pass. ||3||

ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥

Jin Man Vasiaa Paarabreham Sae Poorae Paradhhaan ||

जिन

मनि वसिआ पारब्रहमु से पूरे परधान ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਮਾਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਕਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਹਨ।
Perfectly fulfilled and famous are those, in whose minds the Supreme Lord God abides.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਈ ਜਹਾਨ ॥

Thin Kee Sobhaa Niramalee Paragatt Bhee Jehaan ||

तिन

की सोभा निरमली परगटु भई जहान ॥

ਤਿਨਾ

ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Their reputation is spotless and pure; they are famous all over the world.

ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੮੦॥

मेरा प्रभु धिआइआ नानक तिन कुरबान ॥४॥१०॥८०॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
