मंनिऐ गुरु पाईऐ विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥

ਸ਼ਬਦ

ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ, ਸੁਆਰਥ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ।
With faith in the Shabad, the Guru is found, and selfishness is eradicated from within.

Night and day, worship the True Lord with devotion and love forever.

ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਮਨ-ਚਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਪੇ ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜੱਪਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚਾਰੇ ਜੁਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who do not serve the True Guru shall be miserable throughout the four ages.

ਘਰਿ ਹੋਦਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਿ ਮੁਠੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ॥

होदा पुरखु न पछाणिआ अभिमानि मुठे अहंकारि ॥

ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਮਨ

ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਿਆ। ਹੈਂਕੜ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਝੇ ਹਨ।
The Primal Being is within their own home, but they do not recognize Him. They||

Cursed by the True Guru, they wander around the world begging, until they are exhausted.

ਸੱਚਾ

ਰੱਬ ਸਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They do not serve the True Word of the Shabad, which is the solution to all of their problems. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥

मेरे सदा हरि वेखु हदूरि ॥

ਤੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ, ਸਦਾ ਨੇੜੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇਖ।
O my mind, see the Lord ever close at hand.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਸਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

सचु

सलाहनि से सचे सचा नामु अधारु ॥

ਸੱਚ

ਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਜੱਪਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who praise the True One are true; the True Name is their Support.

ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

सची

कार कमावणी सचे नालि पिआरु ॥

ਸੱਚੀ

ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They act truthfully, in love with the True Lord.

ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

सचा

साहु वरतदा कोइ न मेटणहारु ॥

ਸੱਚਾ

ਰੱਬ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮੇਟ ਸਕਦਾ।
The True King has written His Order, which no one can erase.

मनमुख

महलु न पाइनी कूड़ि मुठे कूड़िआर ॥२॥

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦੇ। ਉਹ ਝੂਠੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The self-willed manmukhs do not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. The false are plundered by falsehood. ||2||

ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਗੁ ਮੁਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ॥

हउमै

करता जगु मुआ गुर बिनु घोर अंधारु ॥

ਹਉਮੈ

ਵਿੱਚ ਜੱਗ ਮਰ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਬਿੰਨਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਸਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਸਦਾ।
Engrossed in egotism, the world perishes. Without the Guru, there is utter darkness.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥

Maaeiaa Mohi Visaariaa Sukhadhaathaa Dhaathaar ||

माइआ

मोहि विसारिआ सुखदाता दातारु ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆ

ਦਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
In emotional attachment to Maya, they have forgotten the Great Giver, the Giver of Peace.

ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਉਬਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਰਖਹਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥

सतगुरु

सेवहि ता उबरहि सचु रखहि उर धारि ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ

ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਨਮ ਸਫ਼ਲਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਉਠ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ।
Those who serve the True Guru are saved; they keep the True One enshrined in their hearts.

ते हरि पाईऐ सचि सबदि वीचारि ॥३॥

ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰ।

सेवि मनु निरमला हउमै तजि विकार ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ

ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ।
Serving the True Guru, the mind becomes immaculate and pure; egotism and corruption are discarded.

ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥

आपु

छोडि जीवत मरै गुर कै सबदि वीचार ॥

ਆਪ

ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਜਿਉਦੇ ਮਰਕੇ, ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ।
So abandon your selfishness, and remain dead while yet alive. Contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਧੰਧਾ ਧਾਵਤ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

धंधा

धावत रहि गए लागा साचि पिआरु ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ

ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
The pursuit of worldly affairs comes to an end, when you embrace love for the True One.

ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੪॥

सचि

रते मुख उजले तितु साचै दरबारि ॥४॥

ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੇ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਜੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਨਿਖਰੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Those who are attuned to Truth-their faces are radiant in the Court of the True Lord. ||4||

ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਨੇ ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।
Those who do not have faith in the Primal Being, the True Guru, and who do not enshrine love for the Shabad

ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਜੇਤਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥

Eisanaan Dhaan Jaethaa Karehi Dhoojai Bhaae Khuaar ||

इसनानु

दानु जेता करहि दूजै भाइ खुआरु ॥

ਉਹ

ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਹਾ ਕੇ ਦਾਨੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਹੋਰੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਭੱਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
They take their cleansing baths, and give to charity again and again, but they are ultimately consumed by their love of duality.

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

Har Jeeo Aapanee Kirapaa Karae Thaa Laagai Naam Piaar ||

हरि

जीउ आपणी क्रिपा करे ता लागै नाम पिआरु ॥

ਰੱਬ

ਜੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
When the Dear Lord Himself grants His Grace, they are inspired to love the Naam.

हउ सेवी किआ जपु करी सतगुर पूछउ जाइ ॥

ਕਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਾਂ, ਕਿਆ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਾਂ, ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੱਤਾ ਕਰ।
Whom shall I serve? What shall I chant? I will go and ask the Guru.

ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥

का भाणा मंनि लई विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ

ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਲੈਕੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
I will accept the Will of the True Guru, and eradicate selfishness from within.

ਏਹਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

एहा

सेवा चाकरी नामु वसै मनि आइ ॥

ਇਸ

ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਚਿਤ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
By this work and service, the Naam shall come to dwell within my mind.

ਨਾਮੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇ ॥੧॥

नामै

ही ते सुखु पाईऐ सचै सबदि सुहाइ ॥१॥

ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਨੇ। ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤਿਆ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।

O my mind, remain awake and aware night and day, and think of the Lord.

ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਅ ਲਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰੱਬ ਸਦਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who fears, loves, and is devoted to the Dear Lord day and night, sees Him always close at hand.

Doubt runs far away from the bodies of those, whose minds remain forever attuned to the True Word of the Shabad.

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਮੁਕ ਗਿਆ।
They do not recognize the True Word of the Shabad, and like a dream, their lives fade away.

घर का पाहुणा जिउ आइआ तिउ जाइ ॥

ਜਿਵੇਂ

ਖਾਲੀ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੂਖਾ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਝੱਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੱਟਦਾ।
Like guests in a deserted house, they leave just exactly as they have come.

God Himself is everything; those who are in their ego cannot even speak of this.

ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਵੇਰ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਹੀ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਫਿਰ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ? ਉਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਭਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬੱਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਰਾਮ-ਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਕੇ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣਜਾ।
Night and day, one who is attuned to the Name of the True Lord is true.

ਮਨ ਸਰੀਰ ਅੰਨਦ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ, ਹਰ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ, ਸੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਸਾਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਕੇ ਨਾ

ਆਵੇ। ਦੁਨਆਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਿਪਆਰ ਕਰੀਏ। ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ। ਖਾ,ਪੀ, ਹੰਢਾਂ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।||1||

With intuitive ease, cultivate your farm, and plant the Seed of the True Name.

जमी अगली मनूआ रजा सहजि सुभाइ ॥

ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਖੇਤੀ-ਭਗਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਆਪੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ, ਅੰਨਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
The seedlings have sprouted luxuriantly, and with intuitive ease, the mind is satisfied.

The Word of the Guru's Shabad is Ambrosial Nectar; drinking it in, thirst is quenched.

ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੋਲਣ ਲਗਿਆ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਬੋਲ ਰੱਬ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਸਬ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
In speaking, in seeing and in words, remain immersed in the Shabad.

वजी चहु जुगी सचो सचु सुणाइ ॥

ਬਾਣੀ ਸਣਾਉਣ

ਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੀ, ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਰਾਂ ਜੁਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਾਣੀ ਸੱਚੋ ਸੱਚ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੱਟਲ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਹੈ।
The Word of the Guru's Bani vibrates throughout the four ages. As Truth, it teaches Truth.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਲਇਆ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

हउमै

मेरा रहि गइआ सचै लइआ मिलाइ ॥

ਹਉਮੈ

ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ। ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ।

Egotism and possessiveness are eliminated, and the True One absorbs them into Himself.

कउ महलु हदूरि है जो सचि रहे लिव लाइ ॥३॥

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਦਿਸ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ॥੩॥
Those who remain lovingly absorbed in the True One see the Mansion of His Presence close at hand. ||3||

नदरी

नामु धिआईऐ विणु करमा पाइआ न जाइ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ, ਕਿਰਪਾ

ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਦਾ।
By His Grace, we meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Without His Mercy, it cannot be obtained.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

अनदिनु

नामे रतिआ दुखु बिखिआ विचहु जाइ ॥

ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ

ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਚੋ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦਰਦ ਹੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Night and day, remain attuned to the Naam, and the pain of corruption shall be dispelled from within.

ਨਾਂਮ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਲਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ , ਆ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਨ।

भउ तिन पाइओनु जिन गुर का सबदु बीचारि ॥

ਆਪਦਾ

ਪਿਆਰ ਰੱਬ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੋੱਬ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad are filled with the Fear of God.

सदा मिलि रहे सचे के गुण सारि ॥

ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਕੇ, ਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਈਏ।
They remain forever merged with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; they dwell upon the Glories of the True One.

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮੈਲੁ ਚੁਕਾਈਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥

दुबिधा

मैलु चुकाईअनु हरि राखिआ उर धारि ॥

ਦੁਬਿਦਾ-ਦੂਹਰੀ ਸੋਚ,

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਲ ਦਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋ ਰੱਬ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They cast off the filth of their mental duality, and they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.

ਸੱਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚਾ, ਸੁੱਧ ਮਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ, ਸੱਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ

ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਰੱਬੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ। ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
God joins to Himself those whose minds are fascinated with the True Word of His Shabad.

अनदिनु

नामे रतिआ जोती जोति समाइ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ

ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
Night and day, they are attuned to the Naam, and their light is absorbed into the Light.

हू प्रभु जापदा बिनु सतगुर बूझ न पाइ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ

ਦੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਹੈ। ਅੱਖਾਂ ਚੂਦਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਝੱਲਕ, ਭਾਗਾ ਨਾਲ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਮਿਕ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through His Light, God is revealed. Without the True Guru, understanding is not obtained.

कउ पूरबि लिखिआ सतगुरु भेटिआ तिन आइ ॥२॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਪਤੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਪਤੀ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੰਗ੍ਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

नावै सभ डुमणी दूजै भाइ खुआइ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ

ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿੰਨਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ, ਨਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੱਗ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Name, all are miserable. In the love of duality, they are ruined.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਦੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥

तिसु

बिनु घड़ी न जीवदी दुखी रैणि विहाइ ॥

ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਭੋਰਾ ਸਮਾ, ਸੱਚੇ

ਬਿੰਨਾਂ ਘੜੀ ਵੀ ਵਿਛੜਾਂ ਰਾਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਰੋਂਦੀਂ ਕੱਢਦੀ ਹਾ।
Without Him, I cannot survive even for an instant, and my life-night passes in anguish.

ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

भरमि

भुलाणा अंधुला फिरि फिरि आवै जाइ ॥

ਜੀਵ

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Wandering in doubt, the spiritually blind come and go in reincarnation, over and over again.

करे प्रभु आपणी आपे लए मिलाइ ॥३॥

ਸੱਚਾ ਰੱਬ ਆਪਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਆਪੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
