Those who have served You with love are truly wise.

पिछै छुटीऐ जिन अंदरि नामु निधानु ॥

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋ ਗਿਆਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰੀਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਰ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਂਰ ਹੈ।
Those who have the Treasure of the Naam within emancipate others as well as themselves.

ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਆਤਮ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥

जेवडु दाता को नही जिनि दिता आतम दानु ॥२॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਿਸ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

Blessed and acclaimed is the coming of those who have met the Guru with loving faith.

ਸਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

सचे

सेती रतिआ दरगह बैसणु जाइ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ

ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਬੈਠਣ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the True One, you shall obtain a place of honor in the Court of the Lord.

ਕਰਤੇ ਹਥਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥

हथि वडिआईआ पूरबि लिखिआ पाइ ॥३॥

ਬਣਾਉਣ

ਵਾਲੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਰਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Greatness is in the Hands of the Creator; it is obtained by pre-ordained destiny. ||3||

करता सचु करणहारु सचु साहिबु सचु टेक ॥

ਸੱਚਾ ਰੱਬ ਸੱਚਾ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਸੱਚੀ ਰੱਬ ਓਟ ਹੈ।

ਸੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਮੱਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
So speak the Truest of the True. Through the True One, an intuitive and discerning mind is obtained.

Worship the Guru, the Transcendent Lord, with your mind and body attuned to love.

The True Guru is the Giver of the soul; He gives Support to all.

बचन कमावणे सचा एहु वीचारु ॥

Act according to the Instructions of the True Guru; this is the true philosophy.

ਬਿੰਨ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਗੈਰ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤਾਂ ਸੈ਼ਆਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਬੇਕਾਰ-ਬੇਸੁਆਦ ਨੇ।

समरथु अपारु गुरु वडभागी दरसनु होइ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਡੇ ਕਰਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ।
The Guru is All-powerful, the Guru is Infinite. By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is obtained.

ਗੁਰੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

अगोचरु निरमला गुर जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥

ਸਰੀਰਕ ਦੂਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਸੁੱਧ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਸੁੱਧ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਡਾ-ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
The Guru is Imperceptible, Immaculate and Pure. There is no other as great as the Guru.

ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥

करता गुरु करणहारु गुरमुखि सची सोइ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਆਪ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Creator, the Guru is the Doer. The Gurmukh obtains true glory.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥

ते बाहरि किछु नही गुरु कीता लोड़े सु होइ ॥२॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ ਕਰਨਾਂ ਚਾਹੇ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

तीरथु गुरु पारजातु गुरु मनसा पूरणहारु ॥

ਧਰਮਿਕ ਸਥਾਨ ਪਰਜਾਤ ਰੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ, ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Sacred Shrine of Pilgrimage, the Guru is the Wish-fulfilling Elysian Tree.

दाता हरि नामु देइ उधरै सभु संसारु ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਦਾਤਾ ਸਬ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਬੱਖਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Fulfiller of the desires of the mind. The Guru is the Giver of the Name of the Lord, by which all the world is saved.

समरथु गुरु निरंकारु गुरु ऊचा अगम अपारु ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਸਬ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰਣਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਊਚਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਊਚਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru is All-powerful, the Guru is Formless; the Guru is Lofty, Inaccessible and Infinite.

की महिमा अगम है किआ कथे कथनहारु ॥३॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤੱਤ ਅਪਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਕਹਿੱਣ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।

फल मनि बाछीअहि तितड़े सतिगुर पासि ॥

ਮਨ

ਦੀਆਂ ਇਛਾਂਵਾਂ, ਦਾਤਾ, ਧੰਨ, ਦੌਲਤ, ਪੁੱਤਰ-ਧੀ ਜੋ ਫ਼ਲ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹੀ ਸਬ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੋਲੇ ਨੇ।
All the rewards which the mind desires are with the True Guru.

लिखे पावणे साचु नामु दे रासि ॥

ਪਿਛਲੇ

ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਪਾਉਣੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ।
One whose destiny is so pre-ordained, obtains the Wealth of the True Name.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥

सरणी आइआं बाहुड़ि नही बिनासु ॥

ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਰ ਜਨਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣਾ ਪੈਦਾਂ।

के चरण सरेवणे तीरथ हरि का नाउ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀ ਲੱਗੀਏ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਹੀਏ। ਹਰਿ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਹਾਉਣ ਹੈ।
Worship the Feet of the Guru. Let the Name of the Lord be your sacred shrine of pilgrimage.

ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਮੰਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥

Aagai Dharagehi Manneeahi Milai Nithhaavae Thhaao ||1||

आगै

दरगहि मंनीअहि मिलै निथावे थाउ ॥१॥

ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਟਿੱਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸ ਗਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
