ਨੇ ਆਪਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਿਆ। ਜਮਦੂਤ ਦਾ ਦੀ ਠੇਡੇ ਗੋਡਿਆ ਸੂਈ ਦੇ ਨੱਕੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਣਾਂ, ਕੁੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
For those who serve their Guru, there is no punishment at the hands of the Messenger of Death.

करि कै खाइआ कउड़ा उपजिआ सादु ॥

ਮਿੱਠਾ

ਸੁਆਦੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹੀ ਰੋਗਾ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
People eat what they believe to be sweet, but it turns out to be bitter in taste.

ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਰਿਦ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਚਿਆ ਬਾਦੁ ॥

मीत सुरिद कीए बिखिआ रचिआ बादु ॥

ਭਰਾ

ਮਿੱਤਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਲੜਾਈ ਪਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They attach their affections to brothers and friends, uselessly engrossed in corruption.

ਜਾਂਦੇ ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥੧॥

बिलम न होवई विणु नावै बिसमादु ॥१॥

ਮਾਇਆ ਧੰਨ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚੋ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਖਿਸਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਰਾਮ ਬਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਭ ਕੁੱਝ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੈ।

जंतु न जाणई भखु अभखु सभ खाइ ॥

ਲੋਭੀ

ਜੀਵ ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਂਣਾਂ ਖਾਂਣ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
The greedy person, unaware, consumes everything, edible and non-edible alike.

ਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਦੁੱਖ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਚਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Engrossed in the intoxication of sexual desire and anger, people wander through reincarnation over and over again. ||2||

पंखी फासिआ निकसु न पाए माइ ॥

ਲਾਲਸਾ ਲੋਭ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਜਿਸ

ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who does not know the Lord who created him, comes and goes in reincarnation over and over again. ||3||

ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੀ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥

प्रकारी मोहिआ बहु बिधि इहु संसारु ॥

ਇਹ

ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੱਣਾ ਕੇ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
By various devices, and in so many ways, this world is enticed.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਰਖੈ ਸੋ ਰਹੈ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥

नो रखै सो रहै सम्रिथु पुरखु अपारु ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ, ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਾਹੇ, ਇਸ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਉਤੇ ਘਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਚਾਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੰਗਰ

ਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਆਲੇ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਣ। ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਅਸਲੀ ਟਿਕਾਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਅਪਣੀ ਬਣਾਂ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ।

ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਣ ਆਏ ਪਰੁਹਣੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Like an overnight guest, you shall arise and depart in the morning.

ਤੂੰ ਮਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਘਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਸਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।

ਮੌਤ ਆ ਗਈ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਪੱਕਾ ਮਰਨਾ। ਲੱਖ ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਭ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਅਣਗਿੱਣਤ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਨੇ।

ਚਰਾਸੀ ਦੀ ਜੂਨ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਅਨਮੋਲ ਮਨੁਖਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Through 8.4 million incarnations you have wandered, to obtain this rare and precious human life.

ਸਰੀਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਖ਼ਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
As long as the soul-companion is with the body, it dwells in happiness.

ਸਰੀਰ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਰੱਬ ਰੂਪ ਮਨ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ, ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਹ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਣੀ ਹੈ।
But when the companion arises and departs, then the body-bride mingles with dust. ||1||

ਮਨਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਣੈ ਕਾ ਚਾਉ ॥

बैरागु भइआ दरसनु देखणै का चाउ ॥

ਮਨ

ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਚਾਅ ਤੜਫਨ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇਖਣ, ਨਿਹਾਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
My mind has become detached from the world; it longs to see the Vision of God's Darshan.

वसिआ कंतु घरि जीउ जीउ सभि कहाति ॥

ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਚਿਰ ਖਸਮ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ, ਜੀ-ਜੀ ਕਹਿਕੇ।ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।
As long as the soul-husband dwells in the body-house, everyone greets you with respect.

ਜਾ ਉਠੀ ਚਲਸੀ ਕੰਤੜਾ ਤਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪੁਛੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਤ ॥੨॥

उठी चलसी कंतड़ा ता कोइ न पुछै तेरी बात ॥२॥

ਜੇ ਖਸਮ

ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਛੱਡ ਜਾਵੇ, ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ। ਕੋਈ ਪੇਕੇ ਸਹੁਰੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੱਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,

ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਸਹੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹੁਰੜੈ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸੁ ॥

सहु सेवि तूं साहुरड़ै सुखि वसु ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੱਪ ਕੇ ਟਿੱਕਾ। ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸੁੱਖ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
In this world of your parents' home, serve your Husband Lord; in the world beyond, in your in-laws' home, you shall dwell in peace.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਚਜੁ ਅਚਾਰੁ ਸਿਖੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਦੁਖੁ ॥੩॥

मिलि चजु अचारु सिखु तुधु कदे न लगै दुखु ॥३॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਅੱਕਲ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਅਪਣਾਂ ਲੈ। ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਰੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
Meeting with the Guru, be a sincere student of proper conduct, and suffering shall never touch you. ||3||

ਸਭਨਾ ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਵੰਞਣਾ ਸਭਿ ਮੁਕਲਾਵਣਹਾਰ ॥

सभना

साहुरै वंञणा सभि मुकलावणहार ॥

ਸਾਰਿਆਂ

ਨੇ ਮਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਗੇ ਸੌਹੁਰੇ ਜਾਂਣਾਂ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣਾ ਹੈ।

Everyone shall go to their Husband Lord. Everyone shall be given their ceremonial send-off after their marriage.
