ਆਪਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨ ਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਕੇ, ਇਕਾਗਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ।
I serve my True Guru with single-minded devotion, and lovingly focus my consciousness on Him.

सतिगुरु

मन कामना तीरथु है जिस नो देइ बुझाइ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ

ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ, ਇਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਬੁੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Guru is the mind's desire and the sacred shrine of pilgrimage, for those unto whom He has given this understanding.

चिंदिआ वरु पावणा जो इछै सो फलु पाइ ॥

ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰੱਬ ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੀਏ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
The blessings of the wishes of the mind are obtained, and the fruits of one's desires.

ਨਾਉ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

धिआईऐ नाउ मंगीऐ नामे सहजि समाइ ॥१॥

ਮਨਾ

ਨਾਂਮ ਜਪੀਏ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੀ ਮੰਗੀਏ ਨਾਂਮ ਮਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੋੜ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meditate on the Name, worship the Name, and through the Name, you shall be absorbed in intuitive peace and poise. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਤਿਖ ਜਾਇ ॥

मेरे हरि रसु चाखु तिख जाइ ॥

ਮਨ

ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੀ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਸ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਏ।
O my mind, drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord, and your thirst shall be quenched.

ਗੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਭੱਟਕਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।ਰਹਾਉ।
Those Gurmukhs who have tasted it remain intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||

सतिगुरु सेविआ तिनी पाइआ नामु निधानु ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ।
Those who serve the True Guru obtain the Treasure of the Naam.

हरि रसु रवि रहिआ चूका मनि अभिमानु ॥

ਮਨ

ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਵਾਲਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਜਾਗ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
Deep within, they are drenched with the Essence of the Lord, and the egotistical pride of the mind is subdued.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥

कमलु प्रगासिआ लागा सहजि धिआनु ॥

ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਈ।
The heart-lotus blossoms forth, and they intuitively center themselves in meditation.

निरमलु हरि रवि रहिआ पाइआ दरगहि मानु ॥२॥

ਮਨ

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਚ ਗਿਆ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਮਾਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ||2||
Their minds become pure, and they remain immersed in the Lord; they are honored in His Court. ||2||

सेवनि आपणा ते विरले संसारि ॥

ਜੋ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਕੋਈ-ਕੋਈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ, ਗਿਣਵੇ ਹਨ।
Those who serve the True Guru in this world are very rare.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥

Houmai Mamathaa Maar Kai Har Raakhiaa Our Dhhaar ||

हउमै

ममता मारि कै हरि राखिआ उर धारि ॥

ਮਨ

ਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।
Those who keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts subdue egotism and possessiveness.

ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

हउ

तिन कै बलिहारणै जिना नामे लगा पिआरु ॥

ਮੈ

ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਦਾ ਜੋ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am a sacrifice to those who are in love with the Naam.

ਸੇਈ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥

सेई

सुखीए चहु जुगी जिना नामु अखुटु अपारु ॥३॥

ਉਹ

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਜੱਪਿਆ। ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋ ਮੁੱਕਤੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਦੇ ਹਨ। ||3||

Those who attain the Inexhaustible Name of the Infinite Lord remain happy throughout the four ages. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਚੂਕੈ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸ ॥

Gur Miliai Naam Paaeeai Chookai Moh Piaas ||

गुर

मिलिऐ नामु पाईऐ चूकै मोह पिआस ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਭੱਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਦੀ ਹੈ।
Meeting with the Guru, the Naam is obtained, and the thirst of emotional attachment departs.

ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥

Har Saethee Man Rav Rehiaa Ghar Hee Maahi Oudhaas ||

हरि

सेती मनु रवि रहिआ घर ही माहि उदासु ॥

ਮਨ

ਜਦੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਿਜ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਚੁਪ ਕਰ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the mind is permeated with the Lord, one remains detached within the home of the heart.

ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸਾਦੁ ਆਇਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਸੁ ॥

जिना

हरि का सादु आइआ हउ तिन बलिहारै जासु ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਦਾ ਚੱਸਕਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਦਾ ਹਾ।
I am a sacrifice to those who enjoy the Sublime Taste of the Lord.

ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ

ਲੋਕ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਚੱਲਦਾ।
People wear all sorts of costumes and wander all around, but in their hearts and minds, they practice deception.

का महलु न पावई मरि विसटा माहि समाइ ॥१॥

ਰੱਬ

ਦੀ ਦਰ ਨਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਭਗਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਨਹੀ। ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਰ ਜਾਦੇ ਹਨ। ||1||
They do not attain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, and after death, they sink into manure. ||1||

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥

रे ग्रिह ही माहि उदासु ॥

ਤੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਪ ਕਕਰਕੇ ਖੋਜ ਕਰ।
O mind, remain detached in the midst of your household.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਘਰੈ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥

गुर

कै सबदि मनु जीतिआ गति मुकति घरै महि पाइ ॥

ਰੱਬੀ

ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਗਤੀ ਮੁੱਕਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the mind is conquered, and one attains the State of Liberation in one's own home.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥

हरि

का नामु धिआईऐ सतसंगति मेलि मिलाइ ॥२॥

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
So meditate on the Name of the Lord; join and merge with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||2||

ਜੇ ਲਖ ਇਸਤਰੀਆ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥

Jae Lakh Eisathareeaa Bhog Karehi Nav Khandd Raaj Kamaahi ||

जे

लख इसतरीआ भोग करहि नव खंड राजु कमाहि ॥

ਲੱਖ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਅੱਡੀਕਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਾਟ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ। ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਪੈਣਾ।
You may enjoy the pleasures of hundreds of thousands of women, and rule the nine continents of the world.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੩॥

बिनु

सतगुर सुखु न पावई फिरि फिरि जोनी पाहि ॥३॥

ਰੱਬ

ਬਗੈਰ ਸੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦਰ-ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਣਾ। ਦੁਆਰਾ-ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਜੂਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣਾ, ਪੈਣਾਂ ਹੈ।
But without the True Guru, you will not find peace; you will be reincarnated over and over again. ||3||

हारु कंठि जिनी पहिरिआ गुर चरणी चितु लाइ ॥

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਤਿਨਾ ਪਿਛੈ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਓਨਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥੪॥

पिछै रिधि सिधि फिरै ओना तिलु न तमाइ ॥४॥

ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਿਲ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਨਹੀ ਪੈਂਦਾ।

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥

प्रभ भावै सो थीऐ अवरु न करणा जाइ ॥

ਰੱਬ

ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਚੰਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੱਗੇ ਉਹੀ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੋਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।
Whatever pleases God's Will comes to pass. Nothing else can be done.
