दामनी चमतकार तिउ वरतारा जग खे ॥
ਬਿੱਜਲੀ ਦੀ ਚੱਮਕ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਥੋੜੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਹੈ॥
Like the flash of lightning, worldly affairs last only for a moment.
14544 ਵਥੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਜਪੰਦੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥

वथु सुहावी साइ नानक नाउ जपंदो तिसु धणी ॥२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ। ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਨਾਲ, ਧੰਨਾਡ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ||2||
The only thing which is pleasing, Sathigur Nanak, is that which inspires one to meditate on the Name of the Master. ||2||

सिम्रिति सासत्र सोधि सभि किनै कीम न जाणी ॥
ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
People have searched all the Simritees and Shaastras, but no one knows the Lord's value.
14547 ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੀ ॥
Jo Jan Bhaettai Saadhhasang So Har Rang Maanee ||
जो जनु भेटै साधसंगि सो हरि रंगु माणी ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
That being, who joins the Saadh Sathigur's Sangat enjoys the Love of the Lord.
14548 ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਹ ਰਤਨਾ ਖਾਣੀ ॥
Sach Naam Karathaa Purakh Eaeh Rathanaa Khaanee ||
सचु नामु करता पुरखु एह रतना खाणी ॥
ਸੱਚਾ ਅਸਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
True is the Naam, the Name of the Creator, the Primal Being. It is the mine of precious jewels.
14549 ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥
Masathak Hovai Likhiaa Har Simar Paraanee ||
मसतकि होवै लिखिआ हरि सिमरि पराणी ॥
ਜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਬੰਦਾ ਜੱਪਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
That mortal, who has such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon his forehead, meditates in remembrance on the Lord.
14550 ਤੋਸਾ ਦਿਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਹਮਾਣੀ ॥੪॥

अंतरि चिंता नैणी सुखी मूलि न उतरै भुख ॥
ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਬੰਦਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਅੰਨਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੁੱਖ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ॥
He harbors anxiety within himself, but to the eyes, he appears to be happy; his hunger never departs.

मुठड़े सेई साथ जिनी सचु न लदिआ ॥
ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਾਥੀ ਟੋਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸਬ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
Those caravans which did not load the Truth have been plundered.
14556 ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥

नानक से साबासि जिनी गुर मिलि इकु पछाणिआ ॥२॥

जिथै बैसनि साध जन सो थानु सुहंदा ॥
ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
Beautiful is that place, where the Holy people dwell.
14559 ਓਇ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਭੁ ਮੰਦਾ ॥
Oue Saevan Sanmrithh Aapanaa Binasai Sabh Mandhaa ||
ओइ सेवनि सम्रिथु आपणा बिनसै सभु मंदा ॥
ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਮਾੜੇ ਬਿਚਾਰ, ਪਾਪ ਬਿਸਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
They serve their All-powerful Lord, and they give up all their evil ways.
14560 ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੰਤ ਬੇਦੁ ਕਹੰਦਾ ॥
Pathith Oudhhaaran Paarabreham Santh Baedh Kehandhaa ||
पतित उधारण पारब्रहम संत बेदु कहंदा ॥
ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤ, ਬੇਦ ਵੀ ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
The Saints and the Vedas proclaim, that the Supreme Lord God is the Saving Grace of sinners.
14561 ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਹੈ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਵਰਤੰਦਾ ॥

भगति वछलु तेरा बिरदु है जुगि जुगि वरतंदा ॥

You are the Lover of Your devotees - this is Your natural way, in each and every age.
14562 ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭਾਵੰਦਾ ॥੫॥

चिड़ी चुहकी पहु फुटी वगनि बहुतु तरंग ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਚਿੜੀ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੂਰੀਆਂ, ਚਾਹ ਉਠਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
The sparrows are chirping, and dawn has come; the wind stirs up the waves.

घर मंदर खुसीआ तही जह तू आवहि चिति ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ, ਘਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Homes, palaces and pleasures are there, where You, O Lord, come to mind.
14568 ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭਿ ਕੁਮਿਤ ॥੨॥

दुनीआ कीआ वडिआईआ नानक सभि कुमित ॥२॥

हरि धनु सची रासि है किनै विरलै जाता ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਧੰਨ, ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਲੱਖਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੈ ॥
The wealth of the Lord is the true capital; how rare are those who understand this.
14571 ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਾਇਰਹੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
Thisai Paraapath Bhaaeirahu Jis Dhaee Bidhhaathaa ||
तिसै परापति भाइरहु जिसु देइ बिधाता ॥
ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਪ੍ਰਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
He alone receives it, O Siblings of Destiny, unto whom the Architect of Destiny gives it.
14572 ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
Man Than Bheethar Mouliaa Har Rang Jan Raathaa ||
मन तन भीतरि मउलिआ हरि रंगि जनु राता ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
His servant is imbued with the Love of the Lord; his body and mind blossom forth.
14573 ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖਹ ਖਾਤਾ ॥
Saadhhasang Gun Gaaeiaa Sabh Dhokheh Khaathaa ||
साधसंगि गुण गाइआ सभि दोखह खाता ॥
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ। ਰੱਬ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and all of his sufferings are removed.
14574 ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੬॥
Naanak Soee Jeeviaa Jin Eik Pashhaathaa ||6||
नानक सोई जीविआ जिनि इकु पछाता ॥६॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਹਨ ||6||
Sathigur Nanak, he alone lives, who acknowledges the One Lord. ||6||

खखड़ीआ सुहावीआ लगड़ीआ अक कंठि ॥
ਅੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਫ਼ਲ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੂਲ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
The fruit of the swallow-wort plant looks beautiful, attached to the branch of the tree;
14577 ਬਿਰਹ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਧਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਸੈ ਗੰਠਿ ॥੧॥
Bireh Vishhorraa Dhhanee Sio Naanak Sehasai Ganth ||1||
बिरह विछोड़ा धणी सिउ नानक सहसै गंठि ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਾਰ ਤਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||1||
But when it is separated from the stem of its Master, Sathigur Nanak, it breaks apart into thousands of fragments. ||1||

विसारेदे मरि गए मरि भि न सकहि मूलि ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਮਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ। ਮਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥
Those who forget the Lord die, but they cannot die a complete death.
14580 ਵੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਤਸਕਰ ਉਪਰਿ ਸੂਲਿ ॥੨॥
Vaemukh Hoeae Raam Thae Jio Thasakar Oupar Sool ||2||
वेमुख होए राम ते जिउ तसकर उपरि सूलि ॥२॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੜ ਕੇ, ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸੂਲੀ ਚੜੇ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ||2||
Those who turn their backs on the Lord suffer, like the thief impaled on the gallows. ||2||

Sukh Nidhhaan Prabh Eaek Hai Abinaasee Suniaa ||
सुख निधानु प्रभु एकु है अबिनासी सुणिआ ॥
ਅੰਨਦ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਕੋ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਅਮਰ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ॥
The One God is the treasure of peace; I have heard that He is eternal and imperishable.
14583 ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਣਿਆ ॥
Jal Thhal Meheeal Pooriaa Ghatt Ghatt Har Bhaniaa ||
जलि थलि महीअलि पूरिआ घटि घटि हरि भणिआ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਜ਼ਰੇ-ਜ਼ਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥
He is totally pervading the water, the land and the sky; the Lord is said to be permeating each and every heart.
14584 ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਭ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤੀ ਬਣਿਆ ॥
Ooch Neech Sabh Eik Samaan Keett Hasathee Baniaa ||
ऊच नीच सभ इक समानि कीट हसती बणिआ ॥
ਉਚੇ ਨੀਵੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ। ਹਾਥੀ ਤੇ ਕੀੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਣਾਂ ਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ॥
He looks alike upon the high and the low, the ant and the elephant.
14585 ਮੀਤ ਸਖਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਿਪੋ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਸ ਦੇ ਜਣਿਆ ॥
Meeth Sakhaa Suth Bandhhipo Sabh This Dhae Janiaa ||
मीत सखा सुत बंधिपो सभि तिस दे जणिआ ॥
ਦੋਸਤ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ, ਸਕਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ॥
Friends, companions, children and relatives are all created by Him.
14586 ਤੁਸਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
Thus Naanak Dhaevai Jis Naam Thin Har Rang Maniaa ||7||
तुसि नानकु देवै जिसु नामु तिनि हरि रंगु मणिआ ॥७॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ ||7||
Sathigur Nanak, one who is blessed with the Naam, enjoys the Lord's love and affection. ||7||

Jinaa Saas Giraas N Visarai Har Naamaan Man Manth ||
जिना सासि गिरासि न विसरै हरि नामां मनि मंतु ॥
ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ। ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੱਬ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Those who do not forget the Lord with each breath and morsel of food whose minds are filled with the Mantra of the Lord's Name
14589 ਧੰਨੁ ਸਿ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ॥੧॥

धंनु सि सेई नानका पूरनु सोई संतु ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਧੰਨ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹਨ .||1||

14591 ਅਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਭਉਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਖਾਵਣ ਸੰਦੜੈ ਸੂਲਿ ॥
Athae Pehar Bhoudhaa Firai Khaavan Sandharrai Sool ||
अठे पहर भउदा फिरै खावण संदड़ै सूलि ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਖਾਂਣ ਲਈ ਭੱਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਖਾਂਣ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਕੇ, ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, he wanders around, driven by his hunger for food.
14592 ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਉਦਾ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਜਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਰਸੂਲਿ ॥੨॥
Dhojak Poudhaa Kio Rehai Jaa Chith N Hoe Rasool ||2||
दोजकि पउदा किउ रहै जा चिति न होइ रसूलि ॥२॥
ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣੋਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ||2||
How can he escape from falling into hell, when he does not remember the Prophet? ||2||

दामनी चमतकार तिउ वरतारा जग खे ॥
ਬਿੱਜਲੀ ਦੀ ਚੱਮਕ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਥੋੜੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਹੈ॥
Like the flash of lightning, worldly affairs last only for a moment.
14544 ਵਥੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਜਪੰਦੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥
Vathh Suhaavee Saae Naanak Naao Japandho This Dhhanee ||2||
वथु सुहावी साइ नानक नाउ जपंदो तिसु धणी ॥२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ। ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਨਾਲ, ਧੰਨਾਡ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ||2||
The only thing which is pleasing, Sathigur Nanak, is that which inspires one to meditate on the Name of the Master. ||2||

सिम्रिति सासत्र सोधि सभि किनै कीम न जाणी ॥
ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
People have searched all the Simritees and Shaastras, but no one knows the Lord's value.
14547 ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੀ ॥
Jo Jan Bhaettai Saadhhasang So Har Rang Maanee ||
जो जनु भेटै साधसंगि सो हरि रंगु माणी ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
That being, who joins the Saadh Sathigur's Sangat enjoys the Love of the Lord.
14548 ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਹ ਰਤਨਾ ਖਾਣੀ ॥
Sach Naam Karathaa Purakh Eaeh Rathanaa Khaanee ||
सचु नामु करता पुरखु एह रतना खाणी ॥
ਸੱਚਾ ਅਸਲ ਨਾਂਮ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
True is the Naam, the Name of the Creator, the Primal Being. It is the mine of precious jewels.
14549 ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥
Masathak Hovai Likhiaa Har Simar Paraanee ||
मसतकि होवै लिखिआ हरि सिमरि पराणी ॥
ਜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਬੰਦਾ ਜੱਪਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
That mortal, who has such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon his forehead, meditates in remembrance on the Lord.
14550 ਤੋਸਾ ਦਿਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਹਮਾਣੀ ॥੪॥

तोसा दिचै सचु नामु नानक मिहमाणी ॥४॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇਦੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬੱਣ ਕੇ,ਮਰਨ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇਗਾ ||4||
Lord, please bless Sathigur Nanak, Your humble guest, with the supplies of the True Name. ||4||

अंतरि चिंता नैणी सुखी मूलि न उतरै भुख ॥
ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਬੰਦਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਅੰਨਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੁੱਖ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ॥
He harbors anxiety within himself, but to the eyes, he appears to be happy; his hunger never departs.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦੇ ||1||
Sathigur Nanak, without the True Name, no one's sorrows have ever departed. ||1||

मुठड़े सेई साथ जिनी सचु न लदिआ ॥
ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਾਥੀ ਟੋਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸਬ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
Those caravans which did not load the Truth have been plundered.
14556 ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥

नानक से साबासि जिनी गुर मिलि इकु पछाणिआ ॥२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ੇ ਹੈ ||2||

जिथै बैसनि साध जन सो थानु सुहंदा ॥
ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥
Beautiful is that place, where the Holy people dwell.
14559 ਓਇ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਭੁ ਮੰਦਾ ॥
Oue Saevan Sanmrithh Aapanaa Binasai Sabh Mandhaa ||
ओइ सेवनि सम्रिथु आपणा बिनसै सभु मंदा ॥
ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਮਾੜੇ ਬਿਚਾਰ, ਪਾਪ ਬਿਸਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
They serve their All-powerful Lord, and they give up all their evil ways.
14560 ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੰਤ ਬੇਦੁ ਕਹੰਦਾ ॥
Pathith Oudhhaaran Paarabreham Santh Baedh Kehandhaa ||
पतित उधारण पारब्रहम संत बेदु कहंदा ॥
ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤ, ਬੇਦ ਵੀ ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
The Saints and the Vedas proclaim, that the Supreme Lord God is the Saving Grace of sinners.

भगति वछलु तेरा बिरदु है जुगि जुगि वरतंदा ॥

ਜਦੋਂ ਚਿੜੀ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੂਰੀਆਂ, ਚਾਹ ਉਠਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
The sparrows are chirping, and dawn has come; the wind stirs up the waves.

घर मंदर खुसीआ तही जह तू आवहि चिति ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ, ਘਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Homes, palaces and pleasures are there, where You, O Lord, come to mind.
14568 ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭਿ ਕੁਮਿਤ ॥੨॥

हरि धनु सची रासि है किनै विरलै जाता ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਧੰਨ, ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਲੱਖਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੈ ॥
The wealth of the Lord is the true capital; how rare are those who understand this.
14571 ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਾਇਰਹੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥

तिसै परापति भाइरहु जिसु देइ बिधाता ॥
ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਪ੍ਰਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
He alone receives it, O Siblings of Destiny, unto whom the Architect of Destiny gives it.
14572 ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
Man Than Bheethar Mouliaa Har Rang Jan Raathaa ||
मन तन भीतरि मउलिआ हरि रंगि जनु राता ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
His servant is imbued with the Love of the Lord; his body and mind blossom forth.
14573 ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖਹ ਖਾਤਾ ॥
Saadhhasang Gun Gaaeiaa Sabh Dhokheh Khaathaa ||
साधसंगि गुण गाइआ सभि दोखह खाता ॥
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ। ਰੱਬ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and all of his sufferings are removed.
14574 ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੬॥
Naanak Soee Jeeviaa Jin Eik Pashhaathaa ||6||
नानक सोई जीविआ जिनि इकु पछाता ॥६॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਹਨ ||6||
Sathigur Nanak, he alone lives, who acknowledges the One Lord. ||6||

खखड़ीआ सुहावीआ लगड़ीआ अक कंठि ॥
ਅੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਫ਼ਲ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੂਲ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
The fruit of the swallow-wort plant looks beautiful, attached to the branch of the tree;
14577 ਬਿਰਹ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਧਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਸੈ ਗੰਠਿ ॥੧॥

बिरह विछोड़ा धणी सिउ नानक सहसै गंठि ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਾਰ ਤਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||1||
But when it is separated from the stem of its Master, Sathigur Nanak, it breaks apart into thousands of fragments. ||1||

विसारेदे मरि गए मरि भि न सकहि मूलि ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਮਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ। ਮਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥
Those who forget the Lord die, but they cannot die a complete death.
14580 ਵੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਤਸਕਰ ਉਪਰਿ ਸੂਲਿ ॥੨॥
Vaemukh Hoeae Raam Thae Jio Thasakar Oupar Sool ||2||
वेमुख होए राम ते जिउ तसकर उपरि सूलि ॥२॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੜ ਕੇ, ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸੂਲੀ ਚੜੇ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ||2||
Those who turn their backs on the Lord suffer, like the thief impaled on the gallows. ||2||

सुख निधानु प्रभु एकु है अबिनासी सुणिआ ॥
ਅੰਨਦ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਕੋ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਅਮਰ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ॥
The One God is the treasure of peace; I have heard that He is eternal and imperishable.
14583 ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਣਿਆ ॥
Jal Thhal Meheeal Pooriaa Ghatt Ghatt Har Bhaniaa ||
जलि थलि महीअलि पूरिआ घटि घटि हरि भणिआ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ, ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਜ਼ਰੇ-ਜ਼ਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥
He is totally pervading the water, the land and the sky; the Lord is said to be permeating each and every heart.
14584 ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਭ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤੀ ਬਣਿਆ ॥
Ooch Neech Sabh Eik Samaan Keett Hasathee Baniaa ||
ऊच नीच सभ इक समानि कीट हसती बणिआ ॥
ਉਚੇ ਨੀਵੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ। ਹਾਥੀ ਤੇ ਕੀੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਣਾਂ ਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ॥
He looks alike upon the high and the low, the ant and the elephant.
14585 ਮੀਤ ਸਖਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਿਪੋ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਸ ਦੇ ਜਣਿਆ ॥
Meeth Sakhaa Suth Bandhhipo Sabh This Dhae Janiaa ||
मीत सखा सुत बंधिपो सभि तिस दे जणिआ ॥
ਦੋਸਤ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ, ਸਕਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ॥
Friends, companions, children and relatives are all created by Him.
14586 ਤੁਸਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
Thus Naanak Dhaevai Jis Naam Thin Har Rang Maniaa ||7||
तुसि नानकु देवै जिसु नामु तिनि हरि रंगु मणिआ ॥७॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ ||7||
Sathigur Nanak, one who is blessed with the Naam, enjoys the Lord's love and affection. ||7||

Jinaa Saas Giraas N Visarai Har Naamaan Man Manth ||
जिना सासि गिरासि न विसरै हरि नामां मनि मंतु ॥
ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ। ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੱਬ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Those who do not forget the Lord with each breath and morsel of food whose minds are filled with the Mantra of the Lord's Name
14589 ਧੰਨੁ ਸਿ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ॥੧॥

धंनु सि सेई नानका पूरनु सोई संतु ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਧੰਨ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹਨ .||1||
They alone are blessed, Sathigur Nanak, they are the perfect Saints. ||1||

अठे पहर भउदा फिरै खावण संदड़ै सूलि ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਖਾਂਣ ਲਈ ਭੱਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਖਾਂਣ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਕੇ, ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, he wanders around, driven by his hunger for food.
14592 ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਉਦਾ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਜਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਰਸੂਲਿ ॥੨॥
Dhojak Poudhaa Kio Rehai Jaa Chith N Hoe Rasool ||2||
दोजकि पउदा किउ रहै जा चिति न होइ रसूलि ॥२॥
ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣੋਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ||2||
How can he escape from falling into hell, when he does not remember the Prophet? ||2||
