Gur Naanak Har Naam Dhrirraaeiaa Bhannan Gharran Samarathh ||

गुर नानक हरि नामु द्रिड़ाइआ भंनण घड़ण समरथु ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Sathigur Nanak implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me; He is All-powerful, to create and destroy.

14458 ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੂ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ਲਥੁ ॥੧॥



Prabh Sadhaa Samaalehi Mithr Thoo Dhukh Sabaaeiaa Lathh ||1||

प्रभु सदा समालहि मित्र तू दुखु सबाइआ लथु ॥१॥


ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੋਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੀਏ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ||1||


Remember God forever, my friend, and all your suffering will disappear. ||1||

खुधिआवंतु न जाणई लाज कुलाज कुबोलु ॥


ਜਦੋਂ ਭੁੱਖ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਦੁਸ਼ਮੱਣ ਬੰਦਾ ਵੀ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ। ਕੌੜੇ ਬੋਲ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ। ਸ਼ਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਮੰਗ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The hungry person does not care about honor, dishonor or harsh words.

14461 ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥

जेवेहे करम कमावदा तेवेहे फलते ॥


ਬੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੈਸੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
According to the deeds which one does, so are the fruits one obtains.

14464 ਚਬੇ ਤਤਾ ਲੋਹ ਸਾਰੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਘੈ ਪਲਤੇ ॥



Chabae Thathaa Loh Saar Vich Sanghai Palathae ||

चबे तता लोह सारु विचि संघै पलते ॥


ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੱਤੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਸੰਘ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਫਸ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ॥
If someone chews on red-hot iron, his throat will be burned.

14465 ਘਤਿ ਗਲਾਵਾਂ ਚਾਲਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੂਤਿ ਅਮਲ ਤੇ ॥



Ghath Galaavaan Chaaliaa Thin Dhooth Amal Thae ||

घति गलावां चालिआ तिनि दूति अमल ते ॥


ਜੰਮ ਗਲ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਸਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਵੈਸੀ ਸਜਾ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The halter is put around his neck and he is led away, because of the evil deeds he has done.

14466 ਕਾਈ ਆਸ ਨ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਪਰ ਮਲੁ ਹਿਰਤੇ ॥



Kaaee Aas N Punneeaa Nith Par Mal Hirathae ||

काई आस न पुंनीआ नित पर मलु हिरते ॥


ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਮੀਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
None of his desires are fulfilled; he continually steals the filth of others.

14467 ਕੀਆ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਕਿਰਤਘਣ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਫਿਰਤੇ ॥



Keeaa N Jaanai Akirathaghan Vich Jonee Firathae ||

कीआ न जाणै अकिरतघण विचि जोनी फिरते ॥


ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਬੇਸਮਝ ਜੰਮਦਾ-ਮਰਦਾ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The ungrateful wretch does not appreciate what he has been given; he wanders lost in reincarnation.

14468 ਸਭੇ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਨਿਖੁਟੀਅਸੁ ਹਿਰਿ ਲਈਅਸੁ ਧਰ ਤੇ ॥



Sabhae Dhhiraan Nikhutteeas Hir Leeas Dhhar Thae ||

सभे धिरां निखुटीअसु हिरि लईअसु धर ते ॥


ਮਾੜੇ ਪਾਪ, ਨਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਨੀ, ਵਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ । ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He loses all support, when the Support of the Lord is taken away from him.

14469 ਵਿਝਣ ਕਲਹ ਨ ਦੇਵਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਲਇਆ ਕਰਤੇ ॥



Vijhan Kaleh N Dhaevadhaa Thaan Laeiaa Karathae ||

विझण कलह न देवदा तां लइआ करते ॥


ਜਦੋਂ ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਝਗੜੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ। ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He does not let the embers of strife die down, and so the Creator destroys him.

14470 ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਰਤੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਉ ਝੜਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੜਤੇ ॥੩੨॥



Jo Jo Karathae Ahanmaeo Jharr Dhharathee Parrathae ||32||

जो जो करते अहमेउ झड़ि धरती पड़ते ॥३२॥


ਜਿਹੜੇ-ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ||32||


Those who indulge in egotism crumble and fall to the ground. ||32||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਅੱਕਲ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ, ਤੀਖ਼ੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ॥
Sathigur's Gurmukh is blessed with spiritual wisdom and a discerning intellect.

14473 ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਾਰੁ ਪਰੋਇ ॥



Har Gun Gaavai Hiradhai Haar Paroe ||

हरि गुण गावै हिरदै हारु परोइ ॥


ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੱਪੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and weaves this garland into his heart.

14474 ਪਵਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਪਰਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥

पवितु पावनु परम बीचारी ॥


ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He becomes the purest of the pure, a being of supreme understanding.

14475 ਜਿ ਓਸੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥



J Ous Milai This Paar Outhaaree ||

जि ओसु मिलै तिसु पारि उतारी ॥


ਉਸ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਹੀ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Whoever he meets, he saves and carries across.

14476 ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥



Anthar Har Naam Baasanaa Samaanee ||

अंतरि हरि नामु बासना समाणी ॥


ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਸਗੰਧ ਬੱਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ॥
The fragrance of the Lord's Name permeates his being deep within.

14477 ਜਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਹਾ ਉਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ॥



Har Dhar Sobhaa Mehaa Outham Baanee ||

हरि दरि सोभा महा उतम बाणी ॥


ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥
He is honored in the Court of the Lord, and his speech is the most sublime.

14478 ਜਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਣੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥

जि पुरखु सुणै सु होइ निहालु ॥


ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਪ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Those who hear him are delighted.

14479 ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧॥

नानक सतिगुर मिलिऐ पाइआ नामु धनु मालु ॥१॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਵਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ||1||


Sathigur Nanak, meeting the True Guru, one obtains the wealth and property of the Naam. ||1||

Sathigur Kae Jeea Kee Saar N Jaapai K Poorai Sathigur Bhaavai ||

सतिगुर के जीअ की सार न जापै कि पूरै सतिगुर भावै ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਭਾਂਣੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਣ ਸਕਦਾ। ਕੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
The sublime state of the True Sathigur is not known; no one knows what pleases the Perfect True Sathigur.

14482 ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੋ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੋ ਲੋਚੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰ ਖੁਸੀ ਆਵੈ ॥



Gurasikhaan Andhar Sathiguroo Varathai Jo Sikhaan No Lochai So Gur Khusee Aavai ||

गुरसिखां अंदरि सतिगुरू वरतै जो सिखां नो लोचै सो गुर खुसी आवै ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਆਪਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Deep within the hearts of His GurSikhs, the True Sathigur is pervading. The Sathigur is pleased with those who long for His Sikhs.

14483 ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਖੈ ਸੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਨਿ ਸੁ ਜਪੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੀ ਘਾਲ ਸਚਾ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥



Sathigur Aakhai S Kaar Kamaavan S Jap Kamaavehi Gurasikhaan Kee Ghaal Sachaa Thhaae Paavai ||

सतिगुरु आखै सु कार कमावनि सु जपु कमावहि गुरसिखां की घाल सचा थाइ पावै ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਜੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਭਗਤ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਿਆਂ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
As the True Sathigur directs them, they do their work and chant their prayers. The True Lord accepts the service of His GurSikhs.

14484 ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਹੁਕਮੈ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਲੋੜੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥



Vin Sathigur Kae Hukamai J Gurasikhaan Paasahu Kanm Karaaeiaa Lorrae This Gurasikh Fir Naerr N Aavai ||

विणु सतिगुर के हुकमै जि गुरसिखां पासहु कमु कराइआ लोड़े तिसु गुरसिखु फिरि नेड़ि न आवै ॥


ਬਗੈਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੋਂ, ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਉਂਣਾਂ ਚਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
But those who want the Sathigur Sikhs to work for them, without the Order of the True Guru - the Guru's Sikhs shall not come near them again.

14485 ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਗੈ ਕੋ ਜੀਉ ਲਾਇ ਘਾਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਗੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥



Gur Sathigur Agai Ko Jeeo Laae Ghaalai This Agai Gurasikh Kaar Kamaavai ||

गुर सतिगुर अगै को जीउ लाइ घालै तिसु अगै गुरसिखु कार कमावै ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭਗਤ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
One who works diligently for the Sathigur , the True Guru - the GurSikhs work for him.

14486 ਜਿ ਠਗੀ ਆਵੈ ਠਗੀ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਇ ਤਿਸੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥



J Thagee Aavai Thagee Outh Jaae This Naerrai Gurasikh Mool N Aavai ||

जि ठगी आवै ठगी उठि जाइ तिसु नेड़ै गुरसिखु मूलि न आवै ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੁੱਟਣ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫਰੇਬ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ॥
One who comes to deceive, who rises up and goes out to deceive - the Sathigur Sikhs shall never come near him.

14487 ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥

ब्रहमु बीचारु नानकु आखि सुणावै ॥

14488 ਜਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਰਾਏ ਸੋ ਜੰਤੁ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥

जि विणु सतिगुर के मनु मंने कमु कराए सो जंतु महा दुखु पावै ॥२॥


ਜੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੋਂ, ਬੰਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਟਾ ਲਵੇ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣਾਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||One who is not pleasing to the Mind of the True Sathigur may do his deeds, but that being will only suffer in terrible pain. ||2||

तूं सचा साहिबु अति वडा तुहि जेवडु तूं वड वडे ॥


ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਚਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰਾ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ॥
True Lord and Master, You are so very great. As great as You are, You are the greatest of the great.

14491 ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਛਡੇ ॥



Jis Thoon Maelehi So Thudhh Milai Thoon Aapae Bakhas Laihi Laekhaa Shhaddae ||

जिसु तूं मेलहि सो तुधु मिलै तूं आपे बखसि लैहि लेखा छडे ॥


ਜਿਸ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਾਂ ਚਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੈਂਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪੇ ਪਾਪ, ਭੁੱਲਾਂ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
He alone is united with You, whom You unite with Yourself. You Yourself bless and forgive us, and tear up our accounts.

14492 ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਮਨੁ ਗਡ ਗਡੇ ॥



Jis No Thoon Aap Milaaeidhaa So Sathigur Saevae Man Gadd Gaddae ||

जिस नो तूं आपि मिलाइदा सो सतिगुरु सेवे मनु गड गडे ॥


ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਜੋ ਕੇ, ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ ॥
One whom You unite with Yourself, whole-heartedly serves the True Sathigur.

ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਤੂ ਸਭੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਚੰਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਡੇ ॥



Thoon Sachaa Saahib Sach Thoo Sabh Jeeo Pindd Chanm Thaeraa Haddae ||

तूं सचा साहिबु सचु तू सभु जीउ पिंडु चमु तेरा हडे ॥


ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੱਚਾ ਅਸਲ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਤਨ, ਸਰੀਰ, ਮਨ ਚੰਮੜੀ ਤਨ ਹੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥
You are the True One, the True Lord and Master; my soul, body, flesh and bones are all Yours.

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੇ, ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਖ। ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ, ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ ||33||1|| ਸੁਧੁ ॥
