Lakh Chouraaseeh Tharasadhae Jis Maelae So Milai Har Aae ||

लख

चउरासीह तरसदे जिसु मेले सो मिलै हरि आइ ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਖ

ਚਰਾਸੀ ਜੂਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The 8.4 million species of beings all yearn for the Lord. Those whom He unites, come to be united with the Lord.

ਜੀ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਰੱਬ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, the Gurmukh finds the Lord, and remains forever absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||4||6||39||

सागरु हरि नामु है गुरमुखि पाइआ जाइ ॥

ਸੁੱਖਾ

ਅੰਨਦ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Name of the Lord is the Ocean of Peace; the Gurmukhs obtain it.

नामु धिआईऐ सहजे नामि समाइ ॥

ਦਿਨ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤਾ ਕਰੀਏ। ਰੱਬ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Meditating on the Naam, night and day, they are easily and intuitively absorbed in the Naam.

ਸੱਚਾ

ਹਰੀ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ । ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਈ ਚੱਲ। ||1||

Their inner beings are immersed in the True Lord; they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

O Siblings of Destiny, the world is in misery, engrossed in the love of duality.

मैलु न लागई मनु निरमलु हरि धिआइ ॥

ਸੁੱਧ

ਕਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਖਰਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਮਨ ਸਾਫ਼ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਜੱਪੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
The truthful ones are not stained by filth. Meditating on the Lord, their minds remain pure.

सबदु पछाणीऐ हरि अम्रित नामि समाइ ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ

ਹੀ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਮਨ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਸ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukhs realize the Word of the Shabad; they are immersed in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name.

गिआनु प्रचंडु बलाइआ अगिआनु अंधेरा जाइ ॥२॥

ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸੋਜੀ ਆ ਗਈ। ਹਨੇਰਾ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||

The Guru has lit the brilliant light of spiritual wisdom, and the darkness of ignorance has been dispelled. ||2||

मनमुख

मैले मलु भरे हउमै त्रिसना विकारु ॥

ਮਨਮੁਖ

ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨੀਅਤ ਮਾੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਉਮੈ ਤਮਾ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ।

The self-willed manmukhs are polluted. They are filled with the pollution of egotism, wickedness and desire.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥

सबदै मैलु न उतरै मरि जमहि होइ खुआरु ॥

ਬਿੰਨ

ਸਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਨ ਸੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਮਰਨ ਜੰਮਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਲ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Shabad, this pollution is not washed off; through the cycle of death and rebirth, they waste away in misery.

बाजी पलचि रहे ना उरवारु न पारु ॥३॥

ਨਾਸਵੰਤ

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਚਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ। ਨਾ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਨਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਜੋਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ।
Engrossed in this transitory drama, they are not at home in either this world or the next. ||3||

जप तप संजमी हरि कै नामि पिआरु ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।
For the Gurmukh, the love of the Name of the Lord is chanting, deep meditation and self-discipline.

The Gurmukh meditates forever on the Name of the One Creator Lord.

मनमुखु

मोहि विआपिआ बैरागु उदासी न होइ ॥

ਮਨਮੁੱਖ

ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਰਾਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਪਜਦੀ।
The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment; they are not balanced or detached.

ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੈ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥

सबदु

न चीनै सदा दुखु हरि दरगहि पति खोइ ॥

ਜੀਵ ਸਬਦ

ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੱਪਦਾ। ਸਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
They do not comprehend the Word of the Shabad. They suffer in pain forever, and lose their honor in the Court of the Lord.

ਹਉਮੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਈਐ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥

हउमै

गुरमुखि खोईऐ नामि रते सुखु होइ ॥१॥

ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||

The Gurmukhs shed their ego; attuned to the Naam, they find peace. ||1||

मेरे

मन अहिनिसि पूरि रही नित आसा ॥

ਮੇਰੇ

ਜੀਅ ਦਿਨਰਾਤ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
O my mind, day and night, you are always full of wishful hopes.

ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਮੋਹ ਤੋ ਬਚਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serve the True Guru, and your emotional attachment shall be totally burnt away; remain detached within the home of your heart. ||1||Pause||

करम कमावै बिगसै हरि बैरागु अनंदु ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ

ਕਰਮਾ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਂ ਗੁਜਾਰ ਕੇ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukhs do good deeds and blossom forth; balanced and detached in the Lord, they are in ecstasy.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਚੰਦੁ ॥

Ahinis Bhagath Karae Dhin Raathee Houmai Maar Nichandh ||

अहिनिसि

भगति करे दिनु राती हउमै मारि निचंदु ॥

ਦਿਨ

ਰਾਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਮੈਂ-ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੋਜ਼ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
Night and day, they perform devotional worship, day and night; subduing their ego, they are carefree.

ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥੨॥

वडै

भागि सतसंगति पाई हरि पाइआ सहजि अनंदु ॥२॥

ਵਧੀਆ

ਲੇਖੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਅ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||
By great good fortune, I found the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; I have found the Lord, with intuitive ease and ecstasy. ||2||

ਸੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਸੋਈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਏ ॥

So Saadhhoo Bairaagee Soee Hiradhai Naam Vasaaeae ||

सो

साधू बैरागी सोई हिरदै नामु वसाए ॥

ਉਹੀ

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੁਦਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਖੀਏ।
That person is a Holy Saadhu, and a renouncer of the world, whose heart is filled with the Naam.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਨ ਤਾਮਸੁ ਮੂਲੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥

अंतरि

लागि न तामसु मूले विचहु आपु गवाए ॥

ਉਸ

ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਗ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿਕਰਾ ਤੋ ਦੂਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
His inner being is not touched by anger or dark energies at all; he has lost his selfishness and conceit.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਅਘਾਏ ॥੩॥

निधानु सतगुरू दिखालिआ हरि रसु पीआ अघाए ॥३॥

ਰੱਬ

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈ ਡੀਕ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
The True Guru has revealed to him the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he drinks in the Sublime Essence of the Lord, and is satisfied. ||3||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤੀ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ॥

जिनि

किनै पाइआ साधसंगती पूरै भागि बैरागि ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੇ ਵੀ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤ ਚੰਗ੍ਹੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Whoever has found it, has done so in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Through perfect good fortune, such balanced detachment is attained.

फिरहि न जाणहि सतगुरु हउमै अंदरि लागि ॥

ਮਨਮੁਖ

ਮਨ ਪਿਛੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਮੈਂ-ਮੈਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukhs wander around lost, but they do not know the True Guru. They are inwardly attached to egotism.

ਨਾਨਕ

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿੰਨ ਲਾਗ ਨਹੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ। ||4||8||41||
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Shabad are dyed in the Color of the Lord's Name. Without the Fear of God, how can they retain this Color? ||4||8||41||

ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਸੌਦਾ ਹੱਟੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਕੋਲੋ ਹੈ।
Within the home of your own inner being, the merchandise is obtained. All commodities are within.

ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥

खिनु नामु समालीऐ गुरमुखि पावै कोइ ॥

ਪਲ

ਪਲ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
Each and every moment, dwell on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the Gurmukhs obtain it.

निधानु अखुटु है वडभागि परापति होइ ॥१॥

ਰੱਬ

ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ। ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||

The Treasure of the Naam is inexhaustible. By great good fortune, it is obtained. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਮੈ ਮੈ ਦੀ ਰੱਟ ਆਪ ਤੇ ਗੁਮਾਂਨ ਤਿਆਗ।
O my mind, give up slander, egotism and arrogance.
