13925 ਇਕੁ ਮਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗੈ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥
Eik Man Eik Varathadhaa Jith Lagai So Thhaae Paae ||
इकु मनु इकु वरतदा जितु लगै सो थाइ पाइ ॥
ਜਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਥੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਥੇ ਦਾ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The mortal is of one mind - whatever he dedicates it to, in that he is successful.
13926 ਕੋਈ ਗਲਾ ਕਰੇ ਘਨੇਰੀਆ ਜਿ ਘਰਿ ਵਥੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਈ ਖਾਇ ॥
Koee Galaa Karae Ghanaereeaa J Ghar Vathh Hovai Saaee Khaae ||
कोई गला करे घनेरीआ जि घरि वथु होवै साई खाइ ॥
ਕਈ ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹੀ ਰੂਹ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਖਾਂਵੇਗਾ॥
Some talk a lot, but they eat only that which is in their own homes.
13927 ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋਝੀ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Bin Sathigur Sojhee Naa Pavai Ahankaar N Vichahu Jaae ||
बिनु सतिगुर सोझी ना पवै अहंकारु न विचहु जाइ ॥
ਬਗੈਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਮਝ-ਅੱਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ॥
Without the True Sathigur understanding is not obtained, and egotism does not depart from within.
13928 ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਨੋ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ ਹਥੁ ਤਡਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਗਾਇ ॥
Ahankaareeaa No Dhukh Bhukh Hai Hathh Thaddehi Ghar Ghar Mangaae ||
अहंकारीआ नो दुख भुख है हथु तडहि घरि घरि मंगाइ ॥
ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਦ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Suffering and hunger cling to the egotistical people; they hold out their hands and beg from door to door.
13929 ਕੂੜੁ ਠਗੀ ਗੁਝੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੈ ਮੁਲੰਮਾ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
Koorr Thagee Gujhee Naa Rehai Mulanmaa Paaj Lehi Jaae ||
कूड़ु ठगी गुझी ना रहै मुलमा पाजु लहि जाइ ॥
ਬੇਈਮਾਨੀ, ਮਾੜੀ ਮੱਤ, ਚੱਲਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਟਣਾਂ, ਭੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਉਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਨੰਘੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥
Their falsehood and fraud cannot remain concealed; their false appearances fall off in the end.
13930 ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਇ ॥
Jis Hovai Poorab Likhiaa This Sathigur Milai Prabh Aae ||
जिसु होवै पूरबि लिखिआ तिसु सतिगुरु मिलै प्रभु आइ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ, ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who has such pre-ordained destiny comes to meet God through the True Sathigur.
13931 ਜਿਉ ਲੋਹਾ ਪਾਰਸਿ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੁਵਰਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jio Lohaa Paaras Bhaetteeai Mil Sangath Suvaran Hoe Jaae ||
जिउ लोहा पारसि भेटीऐ मिलि संगति सुवरनु होइ जाइ ॥
ਜਿਵੇ ਲੋਹਾ, ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਸੋਨਾਂ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਂਣ ਕੇ, ਜੀਵ-ਬੰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Just as iron is transmuted into gold by the touch of the Philosopher's Stone, so are people transformed by joining the Sathigur's Sangat, the Holy Congregation.
13932 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂ ਧਣੀ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੨॥

जन नानक के प्रभ तू धणी जिउ भावै तिवै चलाइ ॥२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਤੂੰ ਧੰਨਾਂਡ ਹੈ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਬ ਨੇ, ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਚੱਲਣਾਂ ਹੈ ||2||
God, You are the Master of servant Sathigur Nanak as it pleases You, You lead him. ||2||

13934 ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Jin Har Hiradhai Saeviaa Thin Har Aap Milaaeae ||
जिन हरि हिरदै सेविआ तिन हरि आपि मिलाए ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਮਿਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who serves the Lord with all his heart - the Lord Himself unites him with Himself.
13935 ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਸਾਝਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ ਸਭਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥
Gun Kee Saajh Thin Sio Karee Sabh Avagan Sabadh Jalaaeae ||
गुण की साझि तिन सिउ करी सभि अवगण सबदि जलाए ॥
ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਕਰਕੇ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
He enters into a partnership with virtue and merit, and burns off all his demerits with the fire of the Shabad.
13936 ਅਉਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਿ ਪਲਰੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
Aougan Vikan Palaree Jis Dhaehi S Sachae Paaeae ||
अउगण विकणि पलरी जिसु देहि सु सचे पाए ॥
ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਇੰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ। ਇੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਲੀ-ਫੂਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ, ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।।
Demerits are purchased cheap, like straw; he alone gathers merit, who is so blessed by the True Lord.
13937 ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਉਗਣ ਮੇਟਿ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਟੀਆਏ ॥
Balihaaree Gur Aapanae Jin Aougan Maett Gun Paragatteeaaeae ||
बलिहारी गुर आपणे जिनि अउगण मेटि गुण परगटीआए ॥
ਆਪਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ॥
I am a sacrifice to my Sathigur, who has erased my demerits, and revealed my virtuous merits.
13938 ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਡੇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਲਾਏ ॥੭॥
Vaddee Vaddiaaee Vaddae Kee Guramukh Aalaaeae ||7||
वडी वडिआई वडे की गुरमुखि आलाए ॥७॥
ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ, ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਊਚੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ||7||
The Sathigur's Gurmukh chants the glorious greatness of the great Lord God. ||7||

Sathigur Vich Vaddee Vaddiaaee Jo Anadhin Har Har Naam Dhhiaavai ||
सतिगुर विचि वडी वडिआई जो अनदिनु हरि हरि नामु धिआवै ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਉਪਮਾਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ, ਆਪਦੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Great is the greatness within the True Sathigur, who meditates night and day on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
13941 ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਤ ਸੁਚ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
Har Har Naam Ramath Such Sanjam Har Naamae Hee Thripathaavai ||
हरि हरि नामु रमत सुच संजमु हरि नामे ही त्रिपतावै ॥
ਰੱਬ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੱਪਣਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ, ਸੰਤੋਖ਼ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
The repetition of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is his purity and self-restraint; with the Name of the Lord, He is satisfied.
13942 ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਰਖ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
Har Naam Thaan Har Naam Dheebaan Har Naamo Rakh Karaavai ||
हरि नामु ताणु हरि नामु दीबाणु हरि नामो रख करावै ॥
The Lord's Name is His power, and the Lord's Name is His Royal Court; the Lord's Name protects Him.
13943 ਜੋ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ਪੂਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੋ ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Jo Chith Laae Poojae Gur Moorath So Man Eishhae Fal Paavai ||
जो चितु लाइ पूजे गुर मूरति सो मन इछे फल पावै ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚੇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਉਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
One who centers his consciousness and worships the Sathigur, obtains the fruits of his mind's desires.
13944 ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ॥
Jo Nindhaa Karae Sathigur Poorae Kee This Karathaa Maar Dhivaavai ||
जो निंदा करे सतिगुर पूरे की तिसु करता मार दिवावै ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾੜਾ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਆਤਮ ਮੌਤ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
But one who slanders the Perfect True Sathigur, shall be killed and destroyed by the Creator.
13945 ਫੇਰਿ ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਓਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਆਪੇ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
Faer Ouh Vaelaa Ous Hathh N Aavai Ouhu Aapanaa Beejiaa Aapae Khaavai ||
फेरि ओह वेला ओसु हथि न आवै ओहु आपणा बीजिआ आपे खावै ॥
ਫਿਰ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਸਮਾਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਪਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਆਪ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੈਸਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ॥
This opportunity shall not come into his hands again; he must eat what he himself has planted.
13946 ਨਰਕਿ ਘੋਰਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਖੜਿਆ ਜਿਉ ਤਸਕਰੁ ਪਾਇ ਗਲਾਵੈ ॥
Narak Ghor Muhi Kaalai Kharriaa Jio Thasakar Paae Galaavai ||
नरकि घोरि मुहि कालै खड़िआ जिउ तसकरु पाइ गलावै ॥
ਨਿੰਦਕ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ, ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਨਰਕ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ, ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਦੇ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਸਾ ਪੈ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He shall be taken to the most horrible hell, with his face blackened like a thief, and a noose around his neck.
13947 ਫਿਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਵੈ ਤਾ ਉਬਰੈ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
Fir Sathigur Kee Saranee Pavai Thaa Oubarai Jaa Har Har Naam Dhhiaavai ||
फिरि सतिगुर की सरणी पवै ता उबरै जा हरि हरि नामु धिआवै ॥
ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਲੈਣ ਨਾਲ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
But if he should again take to the Sanctuary of the True Sathigur, and meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, then he shall be saved.
13948 ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤਾ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਏਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Har Baathaa Aakh Sunaaeae Naanak Har Karathae Eaevai Bhaavai ||1||
हरि बाता आखि सुणाए नानकु हरि करते एवै भावै ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੇ ਦੰਡ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ||1||
Sathigur Nanak speaks and proclaims the Lord's Story; as it pleases the Creator, so does he speak. ||1||

13950 ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਮੰਨੈ ਓਹੁ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਮੁਠਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Poorae Gur Kaa Hukam N Mannai Ouhu Manamukh Agiaan Muthaa Bikh Maaeiaa ||
पूरे गुर का हुकमु न मंनै ओहु मनमुखु अगिआनु मुठा बिखु माइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਂਣਾਂ ਨਾਂ ਮੰਨੇ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਮਾਇਆ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who does not obey the Hukam, the Command of the Perfect Sathigur - that self-willed manmukh is plundered by his ignorance and poisoned by Maya.
13951 ਓਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੂੜੋ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਅਣਹੋਦੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਦਯਿ ਓਸ ਦੈ ਗਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Ous Andhar Koorr Koorro Kar Bujhai Anehodhae Jhagarrae Dhay Ous Dhai Gal Paaeiaa ||
ओसु अंदरि कूड़ु कूड़ो करि बुझै अणहोदे झगड़े दयि ओस दै गलि पाइआ ॥
ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਜਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਝਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Within him is falsehood, and he sees everyone else as false; the Lord has tied these useless conflicts around his neck.
13952 ਓਹੁ ਗਲ ਫਰੋਸੀ ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

ओहु गल फरोसी करे बहुतेरी ओस दा बोलिआ किसै न भाइआ ॥
ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ॥
He babbles on and on, but the words he speaks please no one.
13953 ਓਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੰਢੈ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਨ ਦਹਾਗਣਿ ਓਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜੋੜੇ ਓਸੁ ਭੀ ਲਛਣੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Ouhu Ghar Ghar Handtai Jio Rann Dhuohaagan Ous Naal Muhu Jorrae Ous Bhee Lashhan Laaeiaa ||
ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਧਲੀ ਰੰਨ ਵਾਂਗ, ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋੜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਬੱਣਾਂ ਕੇ, ਕਲੰਕ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
ओहु घरि घरि हंढै जिउ रंन दोहागणि ओसु नालि मुहु जोड़े ओसु भी लछणु लाइआ ॥
He wanders from house to house like an abandoned woman; whoever associates with him is stained by the mark of evil as well.
13954 ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਸੁ ਛਡਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਬਹਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
Guramukh Hoe S Alipatho Varathai Ous Dhaa Paas Shhadd Gur Paas Behi Jaaeiaa ||
गुरमुखि होइ सु अलिपतो वरतै ओस दा पासु छडि गुर पासि बहि जाइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਨਾਸਤਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਡ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Those who become Sathigur' s Gurmukh avoid him; they forsake his company and sit hear the Sathigur .
13955 ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਓਨਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Jo Gur Gopae Aapanaa S Bhalaa Naahee Panchahu Oun Laahaa Mool Sabh Gavaaeiaa ||
जो गुरु गोपे आपणा सु भला नाही पंचहु ओनि लाहा मूलु सभु गवाइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਆਪਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾਂ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Chosen people, Self-elect, one who does not publicly affirm his Sathigur is not a good person; he loses all his profits and capital.
13956 ਪਹਿਲਾ ਆਗਮੁ ਨਿਗਮੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਉਪਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

पहिला आगमु निगमु नानकु आखि सुणाए पूरे गुर का बचनु उपरि आइआ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ, ਵੇਦ ਉਤਮ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਤੇ ਸਬ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਮ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ॥
People used to chant and recite the Shaastras and the Vedas, Sathigur Nanak, but now the Words of the Perfect Guru have come to be the most exalted of all.
13957 ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭਾਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥

इकु मनु इकु वरतदा जितु लगै सो थाइ पाइ ॥
ਜਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਥੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਥੇ ਦਾ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The mortal is of one mind - whatever he dedicates it to, in that he is successful.

कोई गला करे घनेरीआ जि घरि वथु होवै साई खाइ ॥
ਕਈ ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹੀ ਰੂਹ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਖਾਂਵੇਗਾ॥
Some talk a lot, but they eat only that which is in their own homes.
13927 ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋਝੀ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Bin Sathigur Sojhee Naa Pavai Ahankaar N Vichahu Jaae ||
बिनु सतिगुर सोझी ना पवै अहंकारु न विचहु जाइ ॥
ਬਗੈਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਮਝ-ਅੱਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ॥
Without the True Sathigur understanding is not obtained, and egotism does not depart from within.
13928 ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਨੋ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਹੈ ਹਥੁ ਤਡਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਗਾਇ ॥
Ahankaareeaa No Dhukh Bhukh Hai Hathh Thaddehi Ghar Ghar Mangaae ||
अहंकारीआ नो दुख भुख है हथु तडहि घरि घरि मंगाइ ॥
ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਦ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Suffering and hunger cling to the egotistical people; they hold out their hands and beg from door to door.
13929 ਕੂੜੁ ਠਗੀ ਗੁਝੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੈ ਮੁਲੰਮਾ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
Koorr Thagee Gujhee Naa Rehai Mulanmaa Paaj Lehi Jaae ||
कूड़ु ठगी गुझी ना रहै मुलमा पाजु लहि जाइ ॥
ਬੇਈਮਾਨੀ, ਮਾੜੀ ਮੱਤ, ਚੱਲਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਟਣਾਂ, ਭੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਉਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਨੰਘੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥
Their falsehood and fraud cannot remain concealed; their false appearances fall off in the end.
13930 ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਇ ॥

जिसु होवै पूरबि लिखिआ तिसु सतिगुरु मिलै प्रभु आइ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ, ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who has such pre-ordained destiny comes to meet God through the True Sathigur.
13931 ਜਿਉ ਲੋਹਾ ਪਾਰਸਿ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੁਵਰਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jio Lohaa Paaras Bhaetteeai Mil Sangath Suvaran Hoe Jaae ||
जिउ लोहा पारसि भेटीऐ मिलि संगति सुवरनु होइ जाइ ॥
ਜਿਵੇ ਲੋਹਾ, ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਸੋਨਾਂ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਂਣ ਕੇ, ਜੀਵ-ਬੰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Just as iron is transmuted into gold by the touch of the Philosopher's Stone, so are people transformed by joining the Sathigur's Sangat, the Holy Congregation.

जिन हरि हिरदै सेविआ तिन हरि आपि मिलाए ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਮਿਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who serves the Lord with all his heart - the Lord Himself unites him with Himself.
13935 ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਸਾਝਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ ਸਭਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥
Gun Kee Saajh Thin Sio Karee Sabh Avagan Sabadh Jalaaeae ||
गुण की साझि तिन सिउ करी सभि अवगण सबदि जलाए ॥
ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਕਰਕੇ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
He enters into a partnership with virtue and merit, and burns off all his demerits with the fire of the Shabad.
13936 ਅਉਗਣ ਵਿਕਣਿ ਪਲਰੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
Aougan Vikan Palaree Jis Dhaehi S Sachae Paaeae ||
अउगण विकणि पलरी जिसु देहि सु सचे पाए ॥
ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਇੰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ। ਇੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਲੀ-ਫੂਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ, ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।।
Demerits are purchased cheap, like straw; he alone gathers merit, who is so blessed by the True Lord.
13937 ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਉਗਣ ਮੇਟਿ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਟੀਆਏ ॥
Balihaaree Gur Aapanae Jin Aougan Maett Gun Paragatteeaaeae ||
बलिहारी गुर आपणे जिनि अउगण मेटि गुण परगटीआए ॥
ਆਪਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ॥
I am a sacrifice to my Sathigur, who has erased my demerits, and revealed my virtuous merits.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਉਪਮਾਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ, ਆਪਦੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Great is the greatness within the True Sathigur, who meditates night and day on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
13941 ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਤ ਸੁਚ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
Har Har Naam Ramath Such Sanjam Har Naamae Hee Thripathaavai ||
हरि हरि नामु रमत सुच संजमु हरि नामे ही त्रिपतावै ॥
ਰੱਬ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੱਪਣਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ, ਸੰਤੋਖ਼ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
The repetition of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is his purity and self-restraint; with the Name of the Lord, He is satisfied.
13942 ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਰਖ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
Har Naam Thaan Har Naam Dheebaan Har Naamo Rakh Karaavai ||
हरि नामु ताणु हरि नामु दीबाणु हरि नामो रख करावै ॥
The Lord's Name is His power, and the Lord's Name is His Royal Court; the Lord's Name protects Him.
13943 ਜੋ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ਪੂਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੋ ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
Jo Chith Laae Poojae Gur Moorath So Man Eishhae Fal Paavai ||
जो चितु लाइ पूजे गुर मूरति सो मन इछे फल पावै ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚੇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਉਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
One who centers his consciousness and worships the Sathigur, obtains the fruits of his mind's desires.
13944 ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ॥
Jo Nindhaa Karae Sathigur Poorae Kee This Karathaa Maar Dhivaavai ||
जो निंदा करे सतिगुर पूरे की तिसु करता मार दिवावै ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾੜਾ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਆਤਮ ਮੌਤ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
But one who slanders the Perfect True Sathigur, shall be killed and destroyed by the Creator.
13945 ਫੇਰਿ ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਓਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਆਪੇ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
Faer Ouh Vaelaa Ous Hathh N Aavai Ouhu Aapanaa Beejiaa Aapae Khaavai ||
फेरि ओह वेला ओसु हथि न आवै ओहु आपणा बीजिआ आपे खावै ॥
ਫਿਰ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਸਮਾਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਆਪਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਆਪ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੈਸਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ॥
This opportunity shall not come into his hands again; he must eat what he himself has planted.
13946 ਨਰਕਿ ਘੋਰਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਖੜਿਆ ਜਿਉ ਤਸਕਰੁ ਪਾਇ ਗਲਾਵੈ ॥
Narak Ghor Muhi Kaalai Kharriaa Jio Thasakar Paae Galaavai ||
नरकि घोरि मुहि कालै खड़िआ जिउ तसकरु पाइ गलावै ॥
ਨਿੰਦਕ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ, ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਨਰਕ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ, ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਦੇ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਸਾ ਪੈ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
He shall be taken to the most horrible hell, with his face blackened like a thief, and a noose around his neck.
13947 ਫਿਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਵੈ ਤਾ ਉਬਰੈ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
Fir Sathigur Kee Saranee Pavai Thaa Oubarai Jaa Har Har Naam Dhhiaavai ||
फिरि सतिगुर की सरणी पवै ता उबरै जा हरि हरि नामु धिआवै ॥
ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਲੈਣ ਨਾਲ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
But if he should again take to the Sanctuary of the True Sathigur, and meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, then he shall be saved.
13948 ਹਰਿ ਬਾਤਾ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਏਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

हरि बाता आखि सुणाए नानकु हरि करते एवै भावै ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੇ ਦੰਡ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ||1||
Sathigur Nanak speaks and proclaims the Lord's Story; as it pleases the Creator, so does he speak. ||1||

13950 ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਮੰਨੈ ਓਹੁ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਮੁਠਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Poorae Gur Kaa Hukam N Mannai Ouhu Manamukh Agiaan Muthaa Bikh Maaeiaa ||
पूरे गुर का हुकमु न मंनै ओहु मनमुखु अगिआनु मुठा बिखु माइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਂਣਾਂ ਨਾਂ ਮੰਨੇ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਮਾਇਆ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
One who does not obey the Hukam, the Command of the Perfect Sathigur - that self-willed manmukh is plundered by his ignorance and poisoned by Maya.
13951 ਓਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੂੜੋ ਕਰਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਅਣਹੋਦੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਦਯਿ ਓਸ ਦੈ ਗਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Ous Andhar Koorr Koorro Kar Bujhai Anehodhae Jhagarrae Dhay Ous Dhai Gal Paaeiaa ||
ओसु अंदरि कूड़ु कूड़ो करि बुझै अणहोदे झगड़े दयि ओस दै गलि पाइआ ॥
ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਜਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਝਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Within him is falsehood, and he sees everyone else as false; the Lord has tied these useless conflicts around his neck.
13952 ਓਹੁ ਗਲ ਫਰੋਸੀ ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Ouhu Gal Farosee Karae Bahuthaeree Ous Dhaa Boliaa Kisai N Bhaaeiaa ||
ओहु गल फरोसी करे बहुतेरी ओस दा बोलिआ किसै न भाइआ ॥
ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ॥
He babbles on and on, but the words he speaks please no one.
13953 ਓਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੰਢੈ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਨ ਦਹਾਗਣਿ ਓਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜੋੜੇ ਓਸੁ ਭੀ ਲਛਣੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Ouhu Ghar Ghar Handtai Jio Rann Dhuohaagan Ous Naal Muhu Jorrae Ous Bhee Lashhan Laaeiaa ||
ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਧਲੀ ਰੰਨ ਵਾਂਗ, ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋੜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਬੱਣਾਂ ਕੇ, ਕਲੰਕ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
ओहु घरि घरि हंढै जिउ रंन दोहागणि ओसु नालि मुहु जोड़े ओसु भी लछणु लाइआ ॥
He wanders from house to house like an abandoned woman; whoever associates with him is stained by the mark of evil as well.
13954 ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਸੁ ਛਡਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਬਹਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
Guramukh Hoe S Alipatho Varathai Ous Dhaa Paas Shhadd Gur Paas Behi Jaaeiaa ||
गुरमुखि होइ सु अलिपतो वरतै ओस दा पासु छडि गुर पासि बहि जाइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਨਾਸਤਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਡ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Those who become Sathigur' s Gurmukh avoid him; they forsake his company and sit hear the Sathigur .
13955 ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਓਨਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Jo Gur Gopae Aapanaa S Bhalaa Naahee Panchahu Oun Laahaa Mool Sabh Gavaaeiaa ||
जो गुरु गोपे आपणा सु भला नाही पंचहु ओनि लाहा मूलु सभु गवाइआ ॥
ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਆਪਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾਂ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Chosen people, Self-elect, one who does not publicly affirm his Sathigur is not a good person; he loses all his profits and capital.
13956 ਪਹਿਲਾ ਆਗਮੁ ਨਿਗਮੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਉਪਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
Pehilaa Aagam Nigam Naanak Aakh Sunaaeae Poorae Gur Kaa Bachan Oupar Aaeiaa ||
पहिला आगमु निगमु नानकु आखि सुणाए पूरे गुर का बचनु उपरि आइआ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ, ਵੇਦ ਉਤਮ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਤੇ ਸਬ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਮ ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ॥
People used to chant and recite the Shaastras and the Vedas, Sathigur Nanak, but now the Words of the Perfect Guru have come to be the most exalted of all.
13957 ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭਾਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
Gurasikhaa Vaddiaaee Bhaavai Gur Poorae Kee Manamukhaa Ouh Vaelaa Hathh N Aaeiaa ||2||
गुरसिखा वडिआई भावै गुर पूरे की मनमुखा ओह वेला हथि न आइआ ॥२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਆਪਦੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨਾਸਤਿਕ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀ ਲੱਗਦਾ ||2||
The glorious greatness of the Perfect Sathigur is pleasing to the GurSikh; the self-willed manmukhs have lost this opportunity. ||2||
