एको एकु बखानीऐ बिरला जाणै स्वादु ॥
ਇੱਕੋ-ਇੱਕ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜੱਪੀਏ। ਕੋਈ ਹੀ ਕਰੋੜਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Describe the Lord as the One, the One and Only. How rare are those who know the taste of this essence.

ਏਕਾਦਸੀ ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੇ ਦਸ, ਗਿਆਰਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੇਖੀਏ॥

Subdue the desires of your sexual organs, and listen to the Lord's Name.

मनि संतोखु सरब जीअ दइआ ॥
ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਬਰ ਬੱਣਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਿਆਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Let your mind be content, and be kind to all beings.

इन बिधि बरतु स्मपूरन भइआ ॥
ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਰਤ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੈ॥
In this way, your fast will be successful.

Keep your wandering mind restrained in one place.

मनु तनु सुधु जपत हरि नाइ ॥
ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Your mind and body shall become pure, chanting the Lord's Name.

दुरमति हरी सेवा करी भेटे साध क्रिपाल ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਮਾੜੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ॥
Evil-mindedness is eliminated, by meeting with and serving the compassionate Holy Saints.

ਦੁਆਦਸੀ-ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਦੋ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਬਾਰਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋੜ ਬੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ. ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪ ਕੇ, ਤਨ-ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮਾੜੀ ਸੋਚ ਦੀ, ਮੈਲ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
The twelfth day of the lunar cycle: Dedicate yourself to giving charity, chanting the Naam and purification.

Worship the Lord with devotion, and get rid of your pride.

हरि अम्रित पान करहु साधसंगि ॥
ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ, ਬੋਲ, ਜੱਪ, ਗਾਈਏ॥
Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
13757 ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗਿ ॥

मन त्रिपतासै कीरतन प्रभ रंगि ॥
ਹਿਰਦਾ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਵ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
The mind is satisfied by lovingly singing the Kirtan of God's Praises.

The Sweet Words of His Bani soothe everyone.
13759 ਪੰਚ ਭੂ ਆਤਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਪੋਖੈ ॥
Panch Bhoo Aathamaa Har Naam Ras Pokhai ||
पंच भू आतमा हरि नाम रसि पोखै ॥
ਮਨ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਤੋਂ ਅੰਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The soul, the subtle essence of the five elements, cherishes the Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

गुर पूरे ते एह निहचउ पाईऐ ॥
ਸਪੂਰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ, ਇਹ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ॥
This faith is obtained from the Perfect Sathigur.

तीनि गुणा महि बिआपिआ पूरन होत न काम ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਧੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਾਉਣ, ਸੰਭਾਲਣ, ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਵਾਲ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ॥
Engrossed in the three qualities, one's efforts do not succeed.

ਤ੍ਰਉਦਸੀ ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਤੇਰਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਹਨ। ਧੰਨ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ, ਭੁੱਖ, ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

It comes and goes, and is reincarnated in hell.
13768 ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਨ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਓ ॥

हरि हरि भजनु न मन महि आइओ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਚਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ॥
Meditation on the Lord, Har, Har, does not enter into the minds of the people.
13769 ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥
Sukh Saagar Prabh Nimakh N Gaaeiou ||
सुख सागर प्रभु निमख न गाइओ ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ॥
They do not sing the Praises of God, the Ocean of peace, even for an instant.

हरख सोग का देह करि बाधिओ ॥
ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਬੈਠਾਂ ਹੈ॥
This body is the embodiment of pleasure and pain.
13771 ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਸਾਧਿਓ ॥
Dheeragh Rog Maaeiaa Aasaadhhiou ||
दीरघ रोगु माइआ आसाधिओ ॥
ਐਸਾ ਲੰਬਾ ਰੋਗ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ॥
It suffers from the chronic and incurable disease of Maya.
13772 ਦਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਤ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥

दिनहि बिकार करत स्रमु पाइओ ॥
ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਕਾਰ, ਬੇਅਰਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਭੱਜਦਾ, ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
By day, people practice corruption, wearing themselves out.
13773 ਨੈਨੀ ਨੀਦ ਸੁਪਨ ਬਰੜਾਇਓ ॥

नैनी नीद सुपन बरड़ाइओ ॥
ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਚੱਜ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੌਦਾ, ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ, ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
And then with sleep in their eyes, they mutter in dreams.

Forgetting the Lord, this is their condition.

The Lord is pervading in all the four directions and the fourteen worlds.

पंच भू आतमा हरि नाम रसि पोखै ॥
ਮਨ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਤੋਂ ਅੰਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The soul, the subtle essence of the five elements, cherishes the Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

सुख सागर प्रभु निमख न गाइओ ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਲ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ॥
They do not sing the Praises of God, the Ocean of peace, even for an instant.
13770 ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਦੇਹ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ॥
Harakh Sog Kaa Dhaeh Kar Baadhhiou ||
हरख सोग का देह करि बाधिओ ॥
ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਬੈਠਾਂ ਹੈ॥
This body is the embodiment of pleasure and pain.
13771 ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਸਾਧਿਓ ॥
Dheeragh Rog Maaeiaa Aasaadhhiou ||
दीरघ रोगु माइआ आसाधिओ ॥
ਐਸਾ ਲੰਬਾ ਰੋਗ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ॥
It suffers from the chronic and incurable disease of Maya.
13772 ਦਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਤ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥

दिनहि बिकार करत स्रमु पाइओ ॥
ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਕਾਰ, ਬੇਅਰਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਭੱਜਦਾ, ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
By day, people practice corruption, wearing themselves out.
13773 ਨੈਨੀ ਨੀਦ ਸੁਪਨ ਬਰੜਾਇਓ ॥

नैनी नीद सुपन बरड़ाइओ ॥
ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਚੱਜ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੌਦਾ, ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ, ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
And then with sleep in their eyes, they mutter in dreams.
13774 ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਏਹ ਹਾਲ ॥

हरि बिसरत होवत एह हाल ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Forgetting the Lord, this is their condition.

चारि कुंट चउदह भवन सगल बिआपत राम ॥
ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਚੌਦਾ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ॥
The Lord is pervading in all the four directions and the fourteen worlds.
13778 ਨਾਨਕ ਊਨ ਨ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੧੪॥

नानक ऊन न देखीऐ पूरन ता के काम ॥१४॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਲੜ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਕਾਸੇ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ||14||

ਚਉਦਹਿ-ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਚੌਉਦਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
The fourteenth day of the lunar cycle: God Himself is in all four directions.

On all worlds, His radiant glory is perfect.
13782 ਦਸੇ ਦਿਸਾ ਰਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ॥

दसे दिसा रविआ प्रभु एकु ॥
ਦਸੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਰੱਬ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The One God is diffused in the ten directions.
13783 ਧਰਨਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖੁ ॥

धरनि अकास सभ महि प्रभ पेखु ॥
ਧਰਤੀ, ਅਸਮਾਨ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੇਖੀਏ॥
Behold God in all the earth and sky.
13784 ਜਲ ਥਲ ਬਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥

जल थल बन परबत पाताल ॥
ਪਾਣੀ, ਧਰਤੀ, ਜੰਗਲ, ਪਹਾੜਾ, ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੇਖੀਏ॥
In the water, on the land, in the forests and mountains, and in the nether regions of the underworld,
13785 ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਤਹ ਬਸਹਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥

परमेस्वर तह बसहि दइआल ॥
ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ, ਇੰਨਾਂ ਸਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The Merciful Transcendent Lord is abiding.
13786 ਸੂਖਮ ਅਸਥੂਲ ਸਗਲ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
Sookham Asathhool Sagal Bhagavaan ||
सूखम असथूल सगल भगवान ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵਾਂ, ਬੰਦਿਆਂ, ਸਬ ਕਾਸੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ ਵੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ॥
The Lord God is in all mind and matter, subtle and manifest.
13787 ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੧੪॥

नानक गुरमुखि ब्रहमु पछान ॥१४॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸਬ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਣ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ||14||
