ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਕਰੀਏ।

सतसंगति हरि गुण गाए जगु भउजलु दुतरु तरीऐ जीउ ॥१॥

ਸਾਧ

-ਸਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, you shall cross over the treacherous and terrifying world-ocean. ||1||

मेरा

मित्रु सखा सो प्रीतमु भाई मै दसे हरि नरहरीऐ जीउ ॥२॥

ਕੇਵਲ

ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਜਣ ਸਾਥੀ, ਪਿਆਰਾ ਤੇ ਵੀਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਕਤਵਾਰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਖਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||
He alone is a friend, companion, beloved and brother of mine, who shows me the way to the Lord, the Lord of all. ||2||

बेदन हरि गुरु पूरा जाणै ॥

ਮੇਰੀ

ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੱਬ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ।
My illness is known only to the Lord and the Perfect Guru.

ਹਉ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥

रहि न सका बिनु नाम वखाणे ॥

ਮੈਂ

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਬਗੈਰ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
I cannot continue living without chanting the Naam.

मै

अउखधु मंत्रु दीजै गुर पूरे मै हरि हरि नामि उधरीऐ जीउ ॥३॥

ਪੂਰੇ ਗਰੂ ਜੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੁਵਾਈ ਦੇਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।॥੩॥

So give me the medicine, the Mantra of the Perfect Guru. Through the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I am saved. ||3||

Who has placed the Drop of Water, the Lord's Name, Har, Har, in my mouth.

हरि

जलनिधि हम जल के मीने जन नानक जल बिनु मरीऐ जीउ ॥४॥३॥

ਰੱਬ ਨਾਂਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ

ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਜੀਵ ਮੱਛੀ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ ਮਰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ||4||3||
The Lord is the Treasure of Water; I am just a fish in that water. Without this Water, servant Nanak would die. ||4||3||

सरधा पूरि जगजीवन दाते मिलि हरि दरसनि मनु भीजै जीउ ॥१॥

ਦਾਤਾਰ, ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ||1||

Please reward my faith, O Life of the World, O Great Giver. Obtaining the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, my mind is fulfilled. ||1||

ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

हरि

हरि अम्रितु हरि मनि भावै मिलि सतिगुर अम्रितु पीजै जीउ ॥२॥

ਨਾਮ

ਦਾ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ||2||
The Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name, Har, Har, is so sweet to my mind. Meeting the True Guru, I drink in this Ambrosial Nectar. ||2||

ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

By great good fortune, the Lord's Congregation is found,

ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਵਹਿ ॥

Bhaageheen Bhram Chottaa Khaavehi ||

भागहीन

भ्रमि चोटा खावहि ॥

ਮਾੜੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ

ਵਹਿਮ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੱਟਕਦੇ, ਸੱਟਾਂ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
While the unfortunate ones wander around in doubt, enduring painful beatings.

ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਲਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੀਜੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

बिनु

भागा सतसंगु न लभै बिनु संगति मैलु भरीजै जीउ ॥३॥

ਚੰਗੇ

ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਸੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦੀ। ਐਸੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||3||

Without good fortune, the Sat Sangat is not found; without this Sangat, people are stained with filth and pollution. ||3||

आइ मिलहु जगजीवन पिआरे ॥

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ, ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ।
Come and meet me, O Life of the World, my Beloved.

हरि

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ

ਜਾਵੋ। ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਟਿੱਕ ਦੇਵੋ।
Please bless me with Your Mercy, and enshrine Your Name, Har, Har, within my mind.

गुरमति

नामु मीठा मनि भाइआ जन नानक नामि मनु भीजै जीउ ॥४॥४॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ

ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਣ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਾ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ||4||4||

Through the Guru's Teachings, the Sweet Name has become pleasing to my mind. Servant Nanak's mind is drenched and delighted with the Naam. ||4||4||

ਗੁਰਾਂ

ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru, I have obtained the Lord's spiritual wisdom. I have obtained the Sublime Essence of the Lord.

ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥

मनु

हरि रंगि राता हरि रसु पीआइआ ॥

ਮੇਰੀ

ਆਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਂਮ ਪੀਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
My mind is imbued with the Love of the Lord; I drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord.

हरि

हरि नामु मुखि हरि हरि बोली मनु हरि रसि टुलि टुलि पउदा जीउ ॥१॥

ਆਪਣੇ

ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਮ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਹਰੀ ਹਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਡੁਲ-ਡੁਲ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਐਸੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਵਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨI dedicate my mind to those Saints of the Lord, who chant the Word of the Guru's Bani with their mouths. ||2||

हरि संतु मिलाइआ ॥

ਮੈਂ

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
By great good fortune, the Lord has led me to meet His Saint.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

पूरै हरि रसु मुखि पाइआ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ

-ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Perfect Guru has placed the Sublime Essence of the Lord into my mouth.

ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਗਰਭ ਜੂਨੀ ਨਿਤਿ ਪਉਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

Bhaageheen Sathigur Nehee Paaeiaa Manamukh Garabh Joonee Nith Poudhaa Jeeo ||3||

भागहीन

सतिगुरु नही पाइआ मनमुखु गरभ जूनी निति पउदा जीउ ॥३॥

ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੰਦਾ

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||3||
The unfortunate ones do not find the True Guru; the self-willed manmukhs continually endure reincarnation through the womb. ||3||

ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

God, the Merciful, has Himself bestowed His Mercy.

हउमै बिखिआ सभ निवारी ॥

ਨੇ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਲਾਹ ਸੁੱਟੀ ਹੈ।
He has totally removed the poisonous pollution of egotism.

ਜੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁੱਖ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ। ਭਾਵ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ-ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।||4||5||

O Nanak, in the shops of the city of the human body, the Gurmukhs buy the merchandise of the Lord's Name. ||4||5||

I meditate on the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and the Name of the Lord.

Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, the Name comes to dwell in the mind.

प्रभ अगम अगोचर सुआमी मिलि सतिगुर हरि रसु कीचै जीउ ॥१॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ||1||

The Lord God is our Lord and Master, Inaccessible and Unfathomable. Meeting the True Guru, I enjoy the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||1||
