Is rid of the illnesses of countless lifetimes and incarnations.

ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਮਕਸਦ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ । ||3||
So sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night. This is the most fruitful occupation. ||3||

ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਪਾ ਕੇ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਲਾ ਕੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Bestowing His Glance of Grace, He has adorned His slave.

घट अंतरि पारब्रहमु नमसकारिआ ॥

ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਜ਼ੂਦ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਸਬ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ , ਮਾਂਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰ ਝੁਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Deep within each and every heart, the Supreme Lord is humbly worshipped.

ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਹਿਨ ਕਰੀਏ,

ਇਕ ਸੁਆਸ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਈਏ। ||1||
Twenty-four hours a day, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. Do not forget Him, for even one breath. ||1||

ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ||2||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the world-ocean, and the noose of death shall be cut away. ||2||

ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥

पदारथ हरि की सेवा ॥

ਚਾਰੋਂ

ਹੀ ਉਤਮ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਧਰਮ, ਅਰਥ, ਮੋਖ, ਕਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਸੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਟਹਿਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The four cardinal blessings are obtained by serving the Lord.

ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥

पारजातु

जपि अलख अभेवा ॥

ਨਾਂ ਦਿਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ,

ਭੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇ ਸੁਰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਰੁਖ ਵੀ ਸਾ ਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Elysian Tree, the source of all blessings, is meditation on the Unseen and Unknowable Lord.

क्रोधु किलबिख गुरि काटे पूरन होई आसा जीउ ॥३॥

ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ

-ਭੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੱਟ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ। ਉਮੀਦਾ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।||3||
The Guru has cut out the sinful mistakes of sexual desire and anger, and my hopes have been fulfilled. ||3||

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਨੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੈ। ||4||40||47||
O Nanak, if the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the mind, one is approved and accepted, whether he is a house-holder or a renunciate. ||4||40||47||

मिलि हरि हरि जपिआ बिनसे आलस रोगा जीउ ॥१॥

ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸੁਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਲੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ।
He comes to meet those who deserve it by their past actions.

धिआन पूरन परमेसुर प्रभु सभना गला जोगा जीउ ॥२॥

ਗਿਆਨ, ਯਾਦ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰੱਬ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Perfect Transcendent Lord is spiritual wisdom and meditation. God is All-powerful to do all things. ||2||

महि थापि उथापनहारा ॥

ਬਿੰਦ ਝੱਟਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਈਂ ਅਸਥਾਪਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੰਮਨਣ, ਮਾਰਨ, ਵਸਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਉਖੇੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes.

ਆਪਿ ਇਕੰਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥

इकंती आपि पसारा ॥

ਰੱਬ

ਆਪੇ ਇਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੱਲਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ, ਚੱਪੇ-ਚੱਪੇ ,ਜ਼ਰਾ-ਜ਼ਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।।
He Himself is the One, and He Himself is the Many.

ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਡਿਠੇ ਲਹਨਿ ਵਿਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

लेपु

नही जगजीवन दाते दरसन डिठे लहनि विजोगा जीउ ॥३॥

ਜੱਗਤ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Filth does not stick to the Giver, the Life of the World. Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, the pain of separation departs. ||3||

ਪੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Holding on to the hem of His Robe, the entire Universe is saved.

ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself causes His Name to be chanted.

बोहिथु पाइआ किरपा ते नानक धुरि संजोगा जीउ ॥४॥४१॥४८॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾਂ, ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਲਈ ਐਸੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

People do whatever the Lord inspires them to do.

रखै सा भली जाए ॥

ਜਿੇਥੇ

ਕਿਤੇ ਉਹ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ।
Wherever He keeps us is a good place.

ਸੋਈ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

Soee Siaanaa So Pathivanthaa Hukam Lagai Jis Meethaa Jeeo ||1||

सोई

सिआणा सो पतिवंता हुकमु लगै जिसु मीठा जीउ ॥१॥

ਉਹ ਦਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਅੱਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ, ਉਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਭਾਂਣਾਂ ਮਿਠੜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

That person is clever and honorable, unto whom the Hukam of the Lord's Command seems sweet. ||1||

ਸਭ ਪਰੋਈ ਇਕਤੁ ਧਾਗੈ ॥

Sabh Paroee Eikath Dhhaagai ||

परोई इकतु धागै ॥

ਸਾਰੀ

ਰਚਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਡੋਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Everything is strung upon the One String of the Lord.

ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ॥

Jis Laae Leae So Charanee Laagai ||

जिसु

लाइ लए सो चरणी लागै ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those whom the Lord attaches, are attached to His Feet.

ਊਂਧ ਕਵਲੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

ऊंध

कवलु जिसु होइ प्रगासा तिनि सरब निरंजनु डीठा जीउ ॥२॥

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਦਾਸ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ। ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਾ ਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਖਿੜਾ ਕੇ, ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਜੀ ਨੂਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ॥

महिमा तूंहै जाणहि ॥

ਸੋਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
Only You Yourself know Your Glory.

ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ॥

आपु तूं आपि पछाणहि ॥

ਆਪਣੇ

ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
You Yourself recognize Your Own Self.

ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਪੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

Ho Balihaaree Santhan Thaerae Jin Kaam Krodhh Lobh Peethaa Jeeo ||3||

हउ

बलिहारी संतन तेरे जिनि कामु क्रोधु लोभु पीठा जीउ ॥३॥

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭੋਗ

, ਗੁੱਸੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਹ, ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਹੈ। ||3||

I am a sacrifice to Your Saints, who have crushed their sexual desire, anger and greed. ||3||

ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ॥

तूं

निरवैरु संत तेरे निरमल ॥

ਤੂੰ

ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ।
You have no hatred or vengeance; Your Saints are immaculate and pure.

ਜਿਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਕਲਮਲ ॥

Jin Dhaekhae Sabh Outharehi Kalamal ||

जिन

देखे सभ उतरहि कलमल ॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ

ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Seeing them, all sins depart.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਧੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੨॥੪੯॥

नानक

नामु धिआइ धिआइ जीवै बिनसिआ भ्रमु भउ धीठा जीउ ॥४॥४२॥४९॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
