ਉਹ

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Blessed are those words, by which the Naam is chanted.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਣੀ ॥

परसादि किनै विरलै जाणी ॥

ਕੋਈ

ਟਾਂਵਾਂ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
Rare are those who know this, by Guru's Grace.

ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਵੇਲਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

धंनु

सु वेला जितु हरि गावत सुनणा आए ते परवाना जीउ ॥१॥

ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ-ਸੁਭਹਾਨ

ਸ਼ੁਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||
Blessed is that time when one sings and hears the Lord's Name. Blessed and approved is the coming of such a one. ||1||

ਸੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਾ ॥

नेत्र परवाणु जिनी दरसनु पेखा ॥

ਉਹ

ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਗ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ, ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Those eyes which behold the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan are approved and accepted.

ਸੇ ਕਰ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਖਾ ॥

से

कर भले जिनी हरि जसु लेखा ॥

ਉਹ

ਹੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ-ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ-ਯੋਗ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those hands which write the Praises of the Lord are good.

ਸੇ ਚਰਣ ਸੁਹਾਵੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਛਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

Sae Charan Suhaavae Jo Har Maarag Chalae Ho Bal Thin Sang Pashhaanaa Jeeo ||2||

से

चरण सुहावे जो हरि मारगि चले हउ बलि तिन संगि पछाणा जीउ ॥२॥

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੈਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Those feet which walk in the Lord's Way are beautiful. I am a sacrifice to that Congregation in which the Lord is recognized. ||2||

ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੱਖ ਝੱਪਕੇ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਮੇ-ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall be saved in an instant.

ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਹੋਆ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

किलविख

काटि होआ मनु निरमलु मिटि गए आवण जाणा जीउ ॥३॥

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ

ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਜਮਣਾਂ-ਮਰਨਾਂ, ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਦੇ ਹਨ। ||3||

Your sins will be cut out; your mind will be immaculate and pure. Your comings and goings shall cease. ||3||

ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਹੱਥ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ, ਇਕ ਰੱਬ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੀਏ।

ਤੇ ਮਨ ਕਠੋਰ ਉਤੇ ਤਰਸ-ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
Please bless me with Your Mercy, and save this sinking stone.

ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਂਣਾਂ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
God has become merciful to Nanak; God is pleasing to Nanak's mind. ||4||22||29||

The Word of Your Bani, Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar.

ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥

सुणि

सुणि होवै परम गति मेरी ॥

ਇਸ

ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਰੁਤਬਾ-ਸਥਾਂਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Hearing it again and again, I am elevated to the supreme heights.

ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

जलनि

बुझी सीतलु होइ मनूआ सतिगुर का दरसनु पाए जीउ ॥१॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਸਾੜਾ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਠੰਢੀ ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ

The burning within me has been extinguished, and my mind has been cooled and soothed, by the Blessed Vision of the True Guru. ||1||

Happiness is obtained, and sorrow runs far away,

रसन हरि नामु वखाना ॥

ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਧੂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਜਲ ਥਲ ਨੀਰਿ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

जल

थल नीरि भरे सर सुभर बिरथा कोइ न जाए जीउ ॥२॥

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ

, ਸੁਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਤਾਲ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਖਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਵੇਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਕਿਆ ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||

The sea, the dry land, and the lakes are filled with the Water of the Lord's Name; no place is left empty. ||2||

ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੇ ॥

Dhaeiaa Dhhaaree Thin Sirajanehaarae ||

धारी तिनि सिरजनहारे ॥

ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ-ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

He cherishes and nurtures all beings and creatures.

ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

किरपाल दइआला सगले त्रिपति अघाए जीउ ॥३॥

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੁਆਲੂ

, ਰਹੀਮ ਤੇ ਨਰਮ-ਦਿਲ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ||3||

He is Merciful, Kind and Compassionate. All are satisfied and fulfilled through Him. ||3||

ਵਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥

त्रिणु त्रिभवणु कीतोनु हरिआ ॥

ਜੰਗਲ

ਬੇਲੇ, ਘਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੜਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਜਹਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਰ-ਸਬਜ਼-ਹਰੇ-ਭਰੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ। ਜੀਵ ਵੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਨਾਲ ਤੰਸਰੁਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The woods, the meadows and the three worlds are rendered green.

ਕਰਣਹਾਰਿ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਕਰਿਆ ॥

खिन भीतरि करिआ ॥

ਕਰਨ

ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਿੰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ।
The Doer of all did this in an instant.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੈ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੩੦॥

गुरमुखि

नानक तिसै अराधे मन की आस पुजाए जीउ ॥४॥२३॥३०॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੱਟਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

बिनु दूजा अवरु न कोई सभु तेरा खेलु अखाड़ा जीउ ॥२॥

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸਾਰਾ ਆਲਮ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੇਡ ਦਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਹੈ।

ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜੀਵ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।

जितु भाणा तितु तितु लाए ॥

ਜਿਸ

ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
As it pleases You, You assign tasks to one and all.

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਅਸਾੜਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

किछु कीता तेरा होवै नाही किछु असाड़ा जीउ ॥३॥

ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ

, ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡਾ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ||3||

All things are Your Doing; we can do nothing ourselves. ||3||

ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, my mind is cooled and soothed.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ, ਮਨ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ-ਖੇੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਔਖੀ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ। ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। । ||4||24||31||

निधान अम्रितु हरि नामा हरि धिआइ धिआइ सुखु पाइआ जीउ ॥१॥

ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਰਸ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਕੰਮਾਂ, ਗੁਣਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਉਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਜੱਪਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਚੈਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
