ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I serve the True Guru; the Word of His Shabad is beautiful.

ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥

हरि का नामु मंनि वसाइआ ॥

ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲ-ਬਾਣੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
Through it, the Name of the Lord comes to dwell within the mind.

निरमलु हउमै मैलु गवाए दरि सचै सोभा पावणिआ ॥२॥

ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਣ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।||2||

The Pure Lord removes the filth of egotism, and we are honored in the True Court. ||2||

ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਨਾਂਮ ਯਾਦ, ਜੱਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
Without the Guru, the Naam cannot be obtained.

ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥

सिध

साधिक रहे बिललाइ ॥

ਸਾਧ, ਜੋਗੀ ਪੂਰਨ

ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਤੇ ਅਭਿਆਸੀ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Siddhas and the seekers lack it; they weep and wail.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥

गुर सेवे सुखु न होवी पूरै भागि गुरु पावणिआ ॥३॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ

ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਘਾਲਣ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਆਰਾਮ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ||3||
Without serving the True Guru, peace is not obtained; through perfect destiny, the Guru is found. ||3||

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਰਸੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਖੈ ॥

इहु

मनु आरसी कोई गुरमुखि वेखै ॥

ਇਹ

ਮਨ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਟਾਵਾਂ ਸਾਧੂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
This mind is a mirror; how rare are those who, as Gurmukh, see themselves in it.

ਮੋਰਚਾ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੋਖੈ ॥

मोरचा

न लागै जा हउमै सोखै ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਂਣ, ਜੰਗਾਲ

ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ, ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵੇ।
Rust does not stick to those who burn their ego.

बाणी निरमल सबदु वजाए गुर सबदी सचि समावणिआ ॥४॥

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਇਲਾਹੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||4||
The Unstruck Melody of the Bani resounds through the Pure Word of the Shabad; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we are absorbed into the True One. ||4||

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਹੁ ਨ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

सतिगुर किहु न देखिआ जाइ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ

ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਰੱਬ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Without the True Guru, the Lord cannot be seen.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਆਪੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥

किरपा करि आपु दिता दिखाइ ॥

ਆਪਣਾ

ਰਹਿਮ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Granting His Grace, He Himself has allowed me to see Him.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥

Aapae Aap Aap Mil Rehiaa Sehajae Sehaj Samaavaniaa ||5||

आपे

आपि आपि मिलि रहिआ सहजे सहजि समावणिआ ॥५।।

ਸਾਹਿਬ

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਜਰ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਬੰਦਾ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||5||

All by Himself, He Himself is permeating and pervading; He is intuitively absorbed in celestial peace. ||5||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥

ਜੋ

ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
गुरमुखि होवै सु इकसु सिउ लिव लाए ॥

One who becomes Gurmukh embraces love for the One.

ਦੂਜਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥

दूजा

भरमु गुर सबदि जलाए ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ

ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ, ਵਿਕਾਂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।

Doubt and duality are burned away by the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥

Kaaeiaa Andhar Vanaj Karae Vaapaaraa Naam Nidhhaan Sach Paavaniaa ||6||

अंदरि वणजु करे वापारा नामु निधानु सचु पावणिआ ॥६॥

ਆਪਣੀ

ਦੇਹਿ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੀ ਸੁਦਾਗਰੀ ਤੇ ਲੈਣ ਦੇਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||6||

Within his body, he deals and trades, and obtains the Treasure of the True Name. ||6||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸਾਰੁ ॥

करणी हरि कीरति सारु ॥

ਗੁਰੂ

ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਕਰਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
The life-style of the Gurmukh is sublime; he sings the Praises of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥

गुरमुखि

पाए मोख दुआरु ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ

ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh finds the gate of salvation.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥

Anadhin Rang Rathaa Gun Gaavai Andhar Mehal Bulaavaniaa ||7||

अनदिनु

रंगि रता गुण गावै अंदरि महलि बुलावणिआ ॥७॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ

ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਊਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਬੈਠਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ||7||

Night and day, he is imbued with the Lord's Love. He sings the Lord's Glorious Praises, and he is called to the Mansion of His Presence. ||7||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥

दाता मिलै मिलाइआ ॥

ਜਦ

ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ, ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Guru, the Giver, is met when the Lord leads us to meet Him.

ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਨਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥

Poorai Bhaag Man Sabadh Vasaaeiaa ||

पूरै

भागि मनि सबदु वसाइआ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ

ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
Through perfect destiny, the Shabad is enshrined in the mind.

Those who lose their own selves obtain everything.

ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they enshrine Love for the True one.

ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਘਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ਕਰਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥

सचु

वणंजहि सचु संघरहि सचु वापारु करावणिआ ॥१॥

ਉਹ

ਸੱਚ ਵਿਹਾਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚ ਹੀ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੁਦਾਗਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ||1||

They trade in Truth, they gather in Truth, and they deal only in Truth. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥

हउ

वारी जीउ वारी हरि गुण अनदिनु गावणिआ ॥

ਮੈਂ

ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਘੋਲੀ ਬਲਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, night and day.

सेविऐ सचु वडिआई गुर किरपा ते सचु पावणिआ ॥२॥

ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ

ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੱਚੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ||2||

Serving the True One, true greatness is obtained. By Guru's Grace, the True One is obtained. ||2||

भोजनु सतिगुरि तुठै पाए ॥

ਰੱਬੀ

ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਜੱਪਣ ਦੌ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਤਾਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The food of spiritual love is obtained when the True Guru is pleased.

ਆਦਮੀ

ਹੋਰ ਸੁਆਦ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਰਸ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Other essences are forgotten, when the Lord's Essence comes to dwell in the mind

संतोखु सहज सुखु बाणी पूरे गुर ते पावणिआ ॥३॥

Truth, contentment and intuitive peace and poise are obtained from the Bani, the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||3||

The blind and ignorant fools do not serve the True Guru;

ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਮੁੱਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ?
How will they find the gate of salvation?

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥

Mar Mar Janmehi Fir Fir Aavehi Jam Dhar Chottaa Khaavaniaa ||4||

मरि

मरि जमहि फिरि फिरि आवहि जम दरि चोटा खावणिआ ॥४॥

ਉਹ

ਬਾਰੰਬਾਰ ਮਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ||4||
They die and die, over and over again, only to be reborn, over and over again. They are struck down at Death's Door. ||4||

ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ॥

सबदै

सादु जाणहि ता आपु पछाणहि ॥

ਜੇਕਰ

ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who know the essence of the Shabad, understand their own selves.

सेवि सदा सुखु पाइनि नउ निधि नामु मंनि वसावणिआ ॥५॥

ਸੱਚੇ

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨੌ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ||5||

Serving the True One, they find a lasting peace; they enshrine the nine treasures of the Naam within their minds. ||5||

ਸੋ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

सो

थानु सुहाइआ जो हरि मनि भाइआ ॥

ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
Beautiful is that place, which is pleasing to the Lord's Mind.

ਕੇਵਲ

ਉਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਧ-ਸਮਾਗਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ, ਭਗਵਾਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਆਲਾਪਦਾ, ਜੱਪਦਾ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ, ਬਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
There, sitting in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.

हरि सालाहहि साचा निरमल नादु वजावणिआ ॥६॥

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ

ਰੱਬੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਲਾਪਿਆ, ਜੱਪਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ||6||

Night and day, the True One is praised; the Immaculate Sound-current of the Naad resounds there. ||6||
