ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੰਤਰ ਮੰਤਰ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੁੱਖਾ ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ॥
All medicines and remedies, mantras and tantras are nothing more than ashes.
8427 ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥

करणैहारु रिदे महि धारु ॥३॥

Renounce all your doubts, and vibrate upon the Supreme Lord God.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ, ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਇਆ, ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ- ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ॥
Meditation, self-discipline, self-control and perfect greatness were obtained when the Merciful Lord.

The blind beggar is better off than the vicious king.
8443 ਦੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

दुखि लागै राम नामु चितारी ॥१॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਡਾ-ਦੁੱਖ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ||1||

तेरे दास कउ तुही वडिआई ॥
ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਜੀ ਆਪਦੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
You are the glorious greatness of Your slave.

Gripped by disease, they invoke the Name.
8447 ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਤੇ ਕਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥੨॥
Bikh Maathae Kaa Thour N Thaao ||2||
बिखु माते का ठउर न ठाउ ॥२॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਟਿੱਕਾਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ||2||
But those who are intoxicated with vice shall find no home, no place of rest. ||2||

आन सुखा नही आवहि चीति ॥३॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ||3||
Does not think of any other comforts. ||3||
8450 ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
सदा सदा सिमरउ प्रभ सुआमी ॥
ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਪਦੇ ਠਾਕਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖੀਏ॥
Forever and ever, meditate on God, your Lord and Master.

Twenty-four hours a day, the highway robbers are my companions.

Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the fruit of liberation is obtained. ||3||

By clever devices, nothing is accomplished.

The blind beggar is better off than the vicious king.
8443 ਦੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

दुखि लागै राम नामु चितारी ॥१॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਡਾ-ਦੁੱਖ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਜੀ ਆਪਦੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
You are the glorious greatness of Your slave.

Gripped by disease, they invoke the Name.
8447 ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਤੇ ਕਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥੨॥

बिखु माते का ठउर न ठाउ ॥२॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਟਿੱਕਾਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ||2||
But those who are intoxicated with vice shall find no home, no place of rest. ||2||

ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ||3||

Twenty-four hours a day, the highway robbers are my companions.

There are so many bonds, they cannot be broken.

Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the fruit of liberation is obtained. ||3||

By clever devices, nothing is accomplished.

Move freely in the world; all their affairs are resolved. ||1||

वडभागी हरि कीरतनु गाईऐ ॥
ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੋਹਲੇ ਗਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Everyone should make Him such a friend.
8467 ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕ, ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਸੁਧਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||
Get aboard this boat, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||

साधू संगु करहु सभु कोइ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ, ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੋ॥

8471 ਸਦਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
Sadhaa Kaliaan Fir Dhookh N Hoe ||3||
सदा कलिआण फिरि दूखु न होइ ॥३॥
ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਰੋਗ ਦਰਦ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਣਗੇ ||3||
Obtains eternal peace; pain does not afflict them any longer. ||3||
8472 ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
Praem Bhagath Bhaj Gunee Nidhhaan ||
प्रेम भगति भजु गुणी निधानु ॥
ਰੱਬੀ ਨਾਂਮ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਦਾ ਹੈ॥
With loving devotional worship, meditate on the treasure of excellence.
8473 ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੮੪॥੧੫੩॥

ਪਾਣੀ, ਧਰਤੀ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਾਨਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਰ ਹੈ॥
The Lord, our Friend, is totally pervading the water, the land and the skies.
8476 ਭ੍ਰਮ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਣ ਨੀਤ ॥੧॥

8477 ਊਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਹਰੂਆ ॥

ऊठत सोवत हरि संगि पहरूआ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
While rising up, and while lying down in sleep, the Lord is always with you, watching over you.
8478 ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਡਰੂਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Seek the Sanctuary of those who have come to know the Lord.
