Theejai Muhee Giraah Bhukh Thikhaa Dhue Bhoukeeaa ||
तीजै मुही गिराह भुख तिखा दुइ भउकीआ ॥
ਤਿੰਨ ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਜੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਸ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
In the third watch, both hunger and thirst bark for attention, and food is put into the mouth.
6028 ਖਾਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਆਹ ਭੀ ਖਾਣੇ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ ॥
Khaadhhaa Hoe Suaah Bhee Khaanae Sio Dhosathee ||
खाधा होइ सुआह भी खाणे सिउ दोसती ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਦਾ ਹਜ਼ਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਖਾਂਣ ਦੀ ਰੂਚੀ ਬੱਣਦੀ ਹੈ॥
That which is eaten becomes dust, but they are still attached to eating.
6029 ਚਉਥੈ ਆਈ ਊਂਘ ਅਖੀ ਮੀਟਿ ਪਵਾਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
Chouthhai Aaee Oonagh Akhee Meett Pavaar Gaeiaa ||
चउथै आई ऊंघ अखी मीटि पवारि गइआ ॥
ਸ਼ਾਮ-ਆਥਣ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਉਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਂਦ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸੌਂ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
In the fourth watch, they become drowsy. They close their eyes and begin to dream.
6030 ਭੀ ਉਠਿ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਵਾਦੁ ਸੈ ਵਰ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਆ ਕੀ ਪਿੜ ਬਧੀ ॥
Bhee Outh Rachioun Vaadh Sai Varihaaa Kee Pirr Badhhee ||
भी उठि रचिओनु वादु सै वर्हिआ की पिड़ बधी ॥
ਸੁੱਤੇ ਉਠਦੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਧੰਦੇ, ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੰਦਾ 100 -ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਜਦੋਂ-ਜਹਿਦ ਚੱਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ॥
Rising up again, they engage in conflicts; they set the stage as if they will live for 100 years.
6031 ਸਭੇ ਵੇਲਾ ਵਖਤ ਸਭਿ ਜੇ ਅਠੀ ਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sabhae Vaelaa Vakhath Sabh Jae Athee Bho Hoe ||
सभे वेला वखत सभि जे अठी भउ होइ ॥
ਤਿੰਨ ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਲ. ਘੜੀਆਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋਣਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ॥
If at all times, at each and every moment, they live in the fear of God
6032 ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥

नानक साहिबु मनि वसै सचा नावणु होइ ॥१॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ. ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਜੇ ਚਿਤ-ਜੀਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਨ-ਜੀਅ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ||1||

ਉਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਨ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
They are the perfect kings, who have found the Perfect Lord.
6035 ਅਠੀ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕਤੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥

अठी वेपरवाह रहनि इकतै रंगि ॥
ਉਹ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚ-ਘੁਲ ਕੇ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, they remain unconcerned, imbued with the Love of the One Lord.
6036 ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਥਾਹ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ॥
Dharasan Roop Athhaah Viralae Paaeeahi ||
दरसनि रूपि अथाह विरले पाईअहि ॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਦੇ, ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ-ਕੋਈ, ਕਰੋੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Only a few obtain the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the Unimaginably Beauteous Lord.
6037 ਕਰਮਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬੋਲੁ ॥
Karam Poorai Pooraa Guroo Pooraa Jaa Kaa Bol ||
करमि पूरै पूरा गुरू पूरा जा का बोलु ॥
ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੱਟਲ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾਂ ਅੱਟਲ ਹੈ॥
Through the perfect karma of good deeds, one meets the Perfect Guru, whose speech is perfect.
6038 ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੋਲੁ ॥੨॥

ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਤੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਸਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਘਾਟੇ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਰੱਬ-ਰੱਬ ਕਰਕੇ, ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ||2||
O Nanak, when the Guru makes one perfect, one's weight does not decrease. ||2||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਹਿੰਦਾਂ ਹਾਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਜਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
When You are with me, what more could I want? I speak only the Truth.
6041 ਮੁਠੀ ਧੰਧੈ ਚੋਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥

मुठी धंधै चोरि महलु न पाईऐ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਨਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਯਾਦ-ਚੇਤੇ ਹੈ॥
Plundered by the thieves of worldly affairs, she does not obtain the Mansion of His Presence.
6042 ਏਨੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਠੋਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥
Eaenai Chith Kathor Saev Gavaaeeai ||
एनै चिति कठोरि सेव गवाईऐ ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਪੱਥਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ, ਵੀ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੱਟਦੇ॥
Being so stone-hearted, she has lost her chance to serve the Lord.
6043 ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ਸੁ ਭੰਨਿ ਘੜਾਈਐ ॥

जितु घटि सचु न पाइ सु भंनि घड़ाईऐ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
That heart, in which the True Lord is not found, should be torn down and re-built.
6044 ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਟਿ ਤੋਲਿ ਤੁਲਾਈਐ ॥
Kio Kar Poorai Vatt Thol Thulaaeeai ||
किउ करि पूरै वटि तोलि तुलाईऐ ॥
ਐਸੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੇਖਾ, ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਫਿਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦੇਣ, ਲੈਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?
How can she be weighed accurately, upon the scale of perfection?
6045 ਕੋਇ ਨ ਆਖੈ ਘਟਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥

कोइ न आखै घटि हउमै जाईऐ ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾੜਾ, ਘਟੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ. ਮੈਂ-ਮੈਂ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੁੱਟ ਜਾਏ, ਤੂੰਹੀ, ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇ॥
No one will say that her weight has been shorted, if she rids herself of egotism.
6046 ਲਈਅਨਿ ਖਰੇ ਪਰਖਿ ਦਰਿ ਬੀਨਾਈਐ ॥

लईअनि खरे परखि दरि बीनाईऐ ॥
ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵ, ਬੰਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਾਂਟ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
The genuine are assayed, and accepted in the Court of the All-knowing Lord.
6047 ਸਉਦਾ ਇਕਤੁ ਹਟਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੭॥

सउदा इकतु हटि पूरै गुरि पाईऐ ॥१७॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਰੱਸਦ, ਵਣਜ ਇਕੋ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ॥||17||
The genuine merchandise is found only in one shop-it is obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||17||

अठी पहरी अठ खंड नावा खंडु सरीरु ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਖੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਨੋਵਾਂ ਖੰਡ ਤਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, destroy the eight things, and in the ninth place, conquer the body.
6050 ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਭਾਲਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰੁ ॥
This Vich No Nidhh Naam Eaek Bhaalehi Gunee Geheer ||
तिसु विचि नउ निधि नामु एकु भालहि गुणी गहीरु ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ, ਅੰਨਦ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਨ॥
Within the body are the nine treasures of the Name of the Lord-seek the depths of these virtues.
6051 ਕਰਮਵੰਤੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੀਰੁ ॥
Karamavanthee Saalaahiaa Naanak Kar Gur Peer ||
करमवंती सालाहिआ नानक करि गुरु पीरु ॥
ਭਾਗਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪੀਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ, ਗੁਣਾਂ-ਕੰਮਾਂ, ਉਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Those blessed with the karma of good actions praise the Lord. O Nanak, they make the Guru their spiritual teacher.
6052 ਚਉਥੈ ਪਹਰਿ ਸਬਾਹ ਕੈ ਸੁਰਤਿਆ ਉਪਜੈ ਚਾਉ ॥
Chouthhai Pehar Sabaah Kai Surathiaa Oupajai Chaao ||
चउथै पहरि सबाह कै सुरतिआ उपजै चाउ ॥
ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ, ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜੋਸ਼-ਹੌਸਲਾ ਠਾਠਾਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In the fourth watch of the early morning hours, a longing arises in their higher consciousness.
6053 ਤਿਨਾ ਦਰੀਆਵਾ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
Thinaa Dhareeaavaa Sio Dhosathee Man Mukh Sachaa Naao ||
तिना दरीआवा सिउ दोसती मनि मुखि सचा नाउ ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹਿਣੀ-ਉਠਣੀ-ਯਾਰੀ, ਉਨਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ ਚੇਤਾ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਚੇਤੇ-ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ॥
They are attuned to the river of life; the True Name is in their minds and on their lips.
6054 ਓਥੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵੰਡੀਐ ਕਰਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਉ ॥
Outhhai Anmrith Vanddeeai Karamee Hoe Pasaao ||
ओथै अम्रितु वंडीऐ करमी होइ पसाउ ॥
ਉਥੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ, ਚੰਗੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ, ਮਿੱਠੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ॥
The Ambrosial Nectar is distributed, and those with good karma receive this gift.
6055 ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਸੀਐ ਵੰਨੀ ਚੜੈ ਚੜਾਉ ॥
Kanchan Kaaeiaa Kaseeai Vannee Charrai Charraao ||
कंचन काइआ कसीऐ वंनी चड़ै चड़ाउ ॥
ਜਿਵੇ ਸੋਂਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ, ਖਰਾ ਪਰਖੀ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚਾੜ੍ਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Their bodies become golden, and take on the color of spirituality.

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਦਿਆ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਰੱਬ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ, ਭੋਰਾ ਕੁ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮਨ ਰੱਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
If the Jeweller casts His Glance of Grace, they are not placed in the fire again.
6057 ਸਤੀ ਪਹਰੀ ਸਤੁ ਭਲਾ ਬਹੀਐ ਪੜਿਆ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Sathee Peharee Sath Bhalaa Beheeai Parriaa Paas ||
सती पहरी सतु भला बहीऐ पड़िआ पासि ॥
ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ-ਚੰਗੇ ਭਲੇ ਬੱਣਨਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ-ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ॥
Throughout the other seven watches of the day, it is good to speak the Truth, and sit with the spiritually wise.
6058 ਓਥੈ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਕੂੜੈ ਘਟੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥

ओथै पापु पुंनु बीचारीऐ कूड़ै घटै रासि ॥
ਚੰਗੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਾੜੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ॥
There, vice and virtue are distinguished, and the capital of falsehood is decreased.
6059 ਓਥੈ ਖੋਟੇ ਸਟੀਅਹਿ ਖਰੇ ਕੀਚਹਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥

ओथै खोटे सटीअहि खरे कीचहि साबासि ॥
ਉਥੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਰੀਸ ਨਾਲ, ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ, ਬਿਚਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੋਹਣੇ, ਸਹੀ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੰਮ, ਬਿਚਾਰ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
There, the counterfeit are cast aside, and the genuine are cheered.

Speech is vain and useless. O Nanak, pain and pleasure are in the power of our Lord and Master. ||1||

गुरू पाणी पिता माता धरति महतु ॥
ਹਵਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ। ਹਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ। ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ। ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾ-ਗੁਰੂ, ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਉ, ਧਰਤੀ-ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾ ਹਨ।
Air is the Guru, Water is the Father, and Earth is the Great Mother of all.
6063 ਦਿਵਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਦਾਈ ਦਾਇਆ ਖੇਲੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥
Dhivas Raath Dhue Dhaaee Dhaaeiaa Khaelai Sagal Jagath ||
दिवसु राति दुइ दाई दाइआ खेलै सगल जगतु ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋਨੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਦੋਂਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
Day and night are the two nurses, in whose lap all the world is at play.
6064 ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆ ਵਾਚੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥

चंगिआईआ बुरिआईआ वाचै धरमु हदूरि ॥
ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੰਗੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਨਾਂ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

6065 ਕਰਮੀ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥

करमी आपो आपणी के नेड़ै के दूरि ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
According to their own actions, some are drawn closer, and some are driven farther away.
6066 ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗਏ ਮਸਕਤਿ ਘਾਲਿ ॥

जिनी नामु धिआइआ गए मसकति घालि ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Those who have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and departed after having worked by the sweat of their brow
6067 ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥

The True Food is the Love of the Lord; the True Guru has spoken.
6070 ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਆਇ ਸਚਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ॥

सचे ही पतीआइ सचि विगसिआ ॥
ਉਹ ਆਪਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ, ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦੇ ਹਨ॥
With this True Food, I am satisfied, and with the Truth, I am delighted.
6071 ਸਚੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਗਿਰਾਂਇ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ॥
Sachai Kott Giraane Nij Ghar Vasiaa ||
सचै कोटि गिरांइ निज घरि वसिआ ॥
ਸੱਚਾ ਰੱਬ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਣਾਂ ਪੈਣਾਂ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਲੱਭਣਾਂ ਪੈਣਾਂ ਹੈ॥
True are the cities and the villages, where one abides in the True Home of the self.
6072 ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਨਾਉ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਹਸਿਆ ॥

सतिगुरि तुठै नाउ प्रेमि रहसिआ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੇ ਰੀਝਣ, ਦਿਆਲ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ. ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਨਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
When the True Guru is pleased, one receives the Lord's Name, and blossoms forth in His Love.
6073 ਸਚੈ ਦੈ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ਕੂੜਿ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ॥

सचै दै दीबाणि कूड़ि न जाईऐ ॥
ਮੁਰਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਅੱਗਲੇ ਦਰਘਰ-ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ॥
No one enters the Court of the True Lord through falsehood.
6074 ਝੂਠੋ ਝੂਠੁ ਵਖਾਣਿ ਸੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਖੁਆਈਐ ॥
Jhootho Jhooth Vakhaan S Mehal Khuaaeeai ||
झूठो झूठु वखाणि सु महलु खुआईऐ ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਝੂਠ ਉਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਪਿਆਰ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
By uttering falsehood and only falsehood, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is lost.
6027 ਤੀਜੈ ਮੁਹੀ ਗਿਰਾਹ ਭੁਖ ਤਿਖਾ ਦੁਇ ਭਉਕੀਆ ॥
Theejai Muhee Giraah Bhukh Thikhaa Dhue Bhoukeeaa ||
तीजै मुही गिराह भुख तिखा दुइ भउकीआ ॥
ਤਿੰਨ ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਜੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਸ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
In the third watch, both hunger and thirst bark for attention, and food is put into the mouth.
6028 ਖਾਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਆਹ ਭੀ ਖਾਣੇ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ ॥
Khaadhhaa Hoe Suaah Bhee Khaanae Sio Dhosathee ||
खाधा होइ सुआह भी खाणे सिउ दोसती ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਦਾ ਹਜ਼ਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਖਾਂਣ ਦੀ ਰੂਚੀ ਬੱਣਦੀ ਹੈ॥
That which is eaten becomes dust, but they are still attached to eating.
6029 ਚਉਥੈ ਆਈ ਊਂਘ ਅਖੀ ਮੀਟਿ ਪਵਾਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
Chouthhai Aaee Oonagh Akhee Meett Pavaar Gaeiaa ||
चउथै आई ऊंघ अखी मीटि पवारि गइआ ॥
ਸ਼ਾਮ-ਆਥਣ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਉਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਂਦ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸੌਂ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
In the fourth watch, they become drowsy. They close their eyes and begin to dream.
6030 ਭੀ ਉਠਿ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਵਾਦੁ ਸੈ ਵਰ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਆ ਕੀ ਪਿੜ ਬਧੀ ॥
Bhee Outh Rachioun Vaadh Sai Varihaaa Kee Pirr Badhhee ||
भी उठि रचिओनु वादु सै वर्हिआ की पिड़ बधी ॥
ਸੁੱਤੇ ਉਠਦੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਧੰਦੇ, ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੰਦਾ 100 -ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਜਦੋਂ-ਜਹਿਦ ਚੱਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ॥
Rising up again, they engage in conflicts; they set the stage as if they will live for 100 years.
6031 ਸਭੇ ਵੇਲਾ ਵਖਤ ਸਭਿ ਜੇ ਅਠੀ ਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sabhae Vaelaa Vakhath Sabh Jae Athee Bho Hoe ||
सभे वेला वखत सभि जे अठी भउ होइ ॥
ਤਿੰਨ ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਪਹਿਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਲ. ਘੜੀਆਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੋਣਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ॥
If at all times, at each and every moment, they live in the fear of God

ਉਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਨ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
They are the perfect kings, who have found the Perfect Lord.
6035 ਅਠੀ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕਤੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥

अठी वेपरवाह रहनि इकतै रंगि ॥
ਉਹ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚ-ਘੁਲ ਕੇ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, they remain unconcerned, imbued with the Love of the One Lord.
6036 ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਥਾਹ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ॥
Dharasan Roop Athhaah Viralae Paaeeahi ||
दरसनि रूपि अथाह विरले पाईअहि ॥
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਦੇ, ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ-ਕੋਈ, ਕਰੋੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Only a few obtain the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the Unimaginably Beauteous Lord.
6037 ਕਰਮਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬੋਲੁ ॥

करमि पूरै पूरा गुरू पूरा जा का बोलु ॥
ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੱਟਲ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾਂ ਅੱਟਲ ਹੈ॥

ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਤੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਸਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਘਾਟੇ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਰੱਬ-ਰੱਬ ਕਰਕੇ, ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ॥ ||2||
O Nanak, when the Guru makes one perfect, one's weight does not decrease. ||2||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਹਿੰਦਾਂ ਹਾਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਜਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
When You are with me, what more could I want? I speak only the Truth.

ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਨਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਯਾਦ-ਚੇਤੇ ਹੈ॥
Plundered by the thieves of worldly affairs, she does not obtain the Mansion of His Presence.
6042 ਏਨੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਠੋਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥

एनै चिति कठोरि सेव गवाईऐ ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਪੱਥਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ, ਵੀ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੱਟਦੇ॥
Being so stone-hearted, she has lost her chance to serve the Lord.
6043 ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ਸੁ ਭੰਨਿ ਘੜਾਈਐ ॥

जितु घटि सचु न पाइ सु भंनि घड़ाईऐ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
That heart, in which the True Lord is not found, should be torn down and re-built.
6044 ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਟਿ ਤੋਲਿ ਤੁਲਾਈਐ ॥

किउ करि पूरै वटि तोलि तुलाईऐ ॥
ਐਸੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੇਖਾ, ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਫਿਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦੇਣ, ਲੈਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?
How can she be weighed accurately, upon the scale of perfection?
6045 ਕੋਇ ਨ ਆਖੈ ਘਟਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥

कोइ न आखै घटि हउमै जाईऐ ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾੜਾ, ਘਟੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ. ਮੈਂ-ਮੈਂ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੁੱਟ ਜਾਏ, ਤੂੰਹੀ, ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇ॥
No one will say that her weight has been shorted, if she rids herself of egotism.
6046 ਲਈਅਨਿ ਖਰੇ ਪਰਖਿ ਦਰਿ ਬੀਨਾਈਐ ॥

लईअनि खरे परखि दरि बीनाईऐ ॥
ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵ, ਬੰਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਾਂਟ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
The genuine are assayed, and accepted in the Court of the All-knowing Lord.
6047 ਸਉਦਾ ਇਕਤੁ ਹਟਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੭॥

सउदा इकतु हटि पूरै गुरि पाईऐ ॥१७॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਰੱਸਦ, ਵਣਜ ਇਕੋ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ॥||17||
The genuine merchandise is found only in one shop-it is obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||17||

अठी पहरी अठ खंड नावा खंडु सरीरु ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਖੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਨੋਵਾਂ ਖੰਡ ਤਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, destroy the eight things, and in the ninth place, conquer the body.
6050 ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਭਾਲਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰੁ ॥

तिसु विचि नउ निधि नामु एकु भालहि गुणी गहीरु ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ, ਅੰਨਦ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਨ॥
Within the body are the nine treasures of the Name of the Lord-seek the depths of these virtues.
6051 ਕਰਮਵੰਤੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੀਰੁ ॥
Karamavanthee Saalaahiaa Naanak Kar Gur Peer ||
करमवंती सालाहिआ नानक करि गुरु पीरु ॥
ਭਾਗਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪੀਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ, ਗੁਣਾਂ-ਕੰਮਾਂ, ਉਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
Those blessed with the karma of good actions praise the Lord. O Nanak, they make the Guru their spiritual teacher.
6052 ਚਉਥੈ ਪਹਰਿ ਸਬਾਹ ਕੈ ਸੁਰਤਿਆ ਉਪਜੈ ਚਾਉ ॥
Chouthhai Pehar Sabaah Kai Surathiaa Oupajai Chaao ||
चउथै पहरि सबाह कै सुरतिआ उपजै चाउ ॥
ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ, ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜੋਸ਼-ਹੌਸਲਾ ਠਾਠਾਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In the fourth watch of the early morning hours, a longing arises in their higher consciousness.
6053 ਤਿਨਾ ਦਰੀਆਵਾ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥

तिना दरीआवा सिउ दोसती मनि मुखि सचा नाउ ॥
ਉਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹਿਣੀ-ਉਠਣੀ-ਯਾਰੀ, ਉਨਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ ਚੇਤਾ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਚੇਤੇ-ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ॥
They are attuned to the river of life; the True Name is in their minds and on their lips.
6054 ਓਥੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵੰਡੀਐ ਕਰਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਉ ॥
Outhhai Anmrith Vanddeeai Karamee Hoe Pasaao ||
ओथै अम्रितु वंडीऐ करमी होइ पसाउ ॥
ਉਥੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ, ਚੰਗੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ, ਮਿੱਠੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ॥
The Ambrosial Nectar is distributed, and those with good karma receive this gift.
6055 ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਸੀਐ ਵੰਨੀ ਚੜੈ ਚੜਾਉ ॥
Kanchan Kaaeiaa Kaseeai Vannee Charrai Charraao ||
कंचन काइआ कसीऐ वंनी चड़ै चड़ाउ ॥
ਜਿਵੇ ਸੋਂਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ, ਖਰਾ ਪਰਖੀ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚਾੜ੍ਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Their bodies become golden, and take on the color of spirituality.
6056 ਜੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਸਰਾਫ ਕੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਤਾਉ ॥

जे होवै नदरि सराफ की बहुड़ि न पाई ताउ ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਦਿਆ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਰੱਬ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ, ਭੋਰਾ ਕੁ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮਨ ਰੱਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
If the Jeweller casts His Glance of Grace, they are not placed in the fire again.
6057 ਸਤੀ ਪਹਰੀ ਸਤੁ ਭਲਾ ਬਹੀਐ ਪੜਿਆ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Sathee Peharee Sath Bhalaa Beheeai Parriaa Paas ||
सती पहरी सतु भला बहीऐ पड़िआ पासि ॥
ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ-ਚੰਗੇ ਭਲੇ ਬੱਣਨਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ-ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ॥
Throughout the other seven watches of the day, it is good to speak the Truth, and sit with the spiritually wise.
6058 ਓਥੈ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਕੂੜੈ ਘਟੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Outhhai Paap Punn Beechaareeai Koorrai Ghattai Raas ||
ओथै पापु पुंनु बीचारीऐ कूड़ै घटै रासि ॥
ਚੰਗੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਾੜੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ॥
There, vice and virtue are distinguished, and the capital of falsehood is decreased.
6059 ਓਥੈ ਖੋਟੇ ਸਟੀਅਹਿ ਖਰੇ ਕੀਚਹਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
Outhhai Khottae Satteeahi Kharae Keechehi Saabaas ||
ओथै खोटे सटीअहि खरे कीचहि साबासि ॥
ਉਥੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਰੀਸ ਨਾਲ, ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ, ਬਿਚਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੋਹਣੇ, ਸਹੀ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੰਮ, ਬਿਚਾਰ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
There, the counterfeit are cast aside, and the genuine are cheered.
6060 ਬੋਲਣੁ ਫਾਦਲੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਖਸਮੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
Bolan Faadhal Naanakaa Dhukh Sukh Khasamai Paas ||1||
बोलणु फादलु नानका दुखु सुखु खसमै पासि ॥१॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਐਰ-ਗੈਰ ਕੋਲੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨਾਂ, ਫਜ਼ੂਲ, ਬੇਅਰਥ ਹਨ, ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ-ਪਤੀ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਦੁੱਖ-ਸੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਬ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ||1||
Speech is vain and useless. O Nanak, pain and pleasure are in the power of our Lord and Master. ||1||

गुरू पाणी पिता माता धरति महतु ॥
ਹਵਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ। ਹਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ। ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ। ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾ-ਗੁਰੂ, ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਉ, ਧਰਤੀ-ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾ ਹਨ।
Air is the Guru, Water is the Father, and Earth is the Great Mother of all.
6063 ਦਿਵਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਦਾਈ ਦਾਇਆ ਖੇਲੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥
Dhivas Raath Dhue Dhaaee Dhaaeiaa Khaelai Sagal Jagath ||
दिवसु राति दुइ दाई दाइआ खेलै सगल जगतु ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋਨੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਦੋਂਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
Day and night are the two nurses, in whose lap all the world is at play.
6064 ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆ ਵਾਚੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥

चंगिआईआ बुरिआईआ वाचै धरमु हदूरि ॥
ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੰਗੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਨਾਂ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

6065 ਕਰਮੀ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥

करमी आपो आपणी के नेड़ै के दूरि ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
According to their own actions, some are drawn closer, and some are driven farther away.
6066 ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗਏ ਮਸਕਤਿ ਘਾਲਿ ॥
Jinee Naam Dhhiaaeiaa Geae Masakath Ghaal ||
जिनी नामु धिआइआ गए मसकति घालि ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

6067 ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥

नानक ते मुख उजले होर केती छुटी नालि ॥२॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚੇਹਰੇ
ਮੂੱਖੜੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ। ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ||2||

सचा भोजनु भाउ सतिगुरि दसिआ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ, ਜਿਸ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ॥
The True Food is the Love of the Lord; the True Guru has spoken.
6070 ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਆਇ ਸਚਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ॥

सचे ही पतीआइ सचि विगसिआ ॥
ਉਹ ਆਪਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ, ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦੇ ਹਨ॥
With this True Food, I am satisfied, and with the Truth, I am delighted.
6071 ਸਚੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਗਿਰਾਂਇ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ॥
Sachai Kott Giraane Nij Ghar Vasiaa ||
सचै कोटि गिरांइ निज घरि वसिआ ॥
ਸੱਚਾ ਰੱਬ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਣਾਂ ਪੈਣਾਂ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਲੱਭਣਾਂ ਪੈਣਾਂ ਹੈ॥
True are the cities and the villages, where one abides in the True Home of the self.
6072 ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਨਾਉ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਹਸਿਆ ॥

सतिगुरि तुठै नाउ प्रेमि रहसिआ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੇ ਰੀਝਣ, ਦਿਆਲ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ. ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਨਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
When the True Guru is pleased, one receives the Lord's Name, and blossoms forth in His Love.
6073 ਸਚੈ ਦੈ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ਕੂੜਿ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
Sachai Dhai Dheebaan Koorr N Jaaeeai ||
सचै दै दीबाणि कूड़ि न जाईऐ ॥
ਮੁਰਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਅੱਗਲੇ ਦਰਘਰ-ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ॥
No one enters the Court of the True Lord through falsehood.
6074 ਝੂਠੋ ਝੂਠੁ ਵਖਾਣਿ ਸੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਖੁਆਈਐ ॥
Jhootho Jhooth Vakhaan S Mehal Khuaaeeai ||
झूठो झूठु वखाणि सु महलु खुआईऐ ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਝੂਠ ਉਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਪਿਆਰ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
By uttering falsehood and only falsehood, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is lost.
