ਸਾਧ ਬਣੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਮੰਨ ਦੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਮਨ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਂਰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੋ॥
Saadhus, forsake the pride of your mind.
9438 ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਕੀ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭਾਗਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

कामु क्रोधु संगति दुरजन की ता ते अहिनिसि भागउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਂਮੀ ਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਾਲੇ, ਮਾੜੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਦੂਰ ਰਹੋ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sexual desire, anger and the company of evil people, run away from them, day and night. ||1||Pause||
9439 ਸੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੋਨੋ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ॥
Sukh Dhukh Dhono Sam Kar Jaanai Aour Maan Apamaanaa ||
सुखु दुखु दोनो सम करि जानै अउरु मानु अपमाना ॥
ਅੰਨਦ-ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਦਰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਾਂ ਸਮਝੇ। ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਲਣ ਨਾਂ ਦੇਵੇ॥
One who knows that pain and pleasure are both the same, and honor and dishonor as well;
9440 ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਗਿ ਤਤੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Harakh Sog Thae Rehai Atheethaa Thin Jag Thath Pashhaanaa ||1||
हरख सोग ते रहै अतीता तिनि जगि ततु पछाना ॥१॥
ਜੋ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਦੀ ਲਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਰਾਹ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ||1||
Who remains detached from joy and sorrow, realizes the true essence in the world. ||1||
9441 ਉਸਤਤਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੋਊ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਖੋਜੈ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨਾ ॥
Ousathath Nindhaa Dhooo Thiaagai Khojai Padh Nirabaanaa ||
उसतति निंदा दोऊ तिआगै खोजै पदु निरबाना ॥
ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਤੇ ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਦੀਆ ਗੱਲਾਂ, ਨਾਂ ਆਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Renounce both praise and blame. seek instead the state of Nirvaanaa.
9442 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਕਠਨੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੧॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਲਈ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਔਖੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਬ ਬੁੱਝਾਰਤ ਜਾਂਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ||2||1||

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਕਹਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਉ, ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ॥

9445 ਇਕਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਇਕ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਲਖਿਓ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

इकि बिनसै इक असथिरु मानै अचरजु लखिओ न जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ। ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਾਂ। ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਤੂੰ ਐਸਾ ਭੇਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਣਾਂ ਔਖਾਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
One person passes away, and another thinks that he will live forever - this is a wonder beyond understanding! ||1||Pause||
9446 ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮੋਹ ਬਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਬਿਸਰਾਈ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Moh Bas Praanee Har Moorath Bisaraaee ||
काम क्रोध मोह बसि प्रानी हरि मूरति बिसराई ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ, ਗੁੱਸੇ, ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ॥
The mortal beings are held in the power of sexual desire, anger and emotional attachment; they have forgotten the God, the Immortal Form.
9447 ਝੂਠਾ ਤਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਜਿਉ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਰੈਨਾਈ ॥੧॥
Jhoothaa Than Saachaa Kar Maaniou Jio Supanaa Rainaaee ||1||
झूठा तनु साचा करि मानिओ जिउ सुपना रैनाई ॥१॥
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੱਣਾਂ, ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਖਿਸਕ ਜਾਂਣਾ ਹੈ||1||
The body is false, but they believe it to be true; it is like a dream in the night. ||1||
9448 ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਦਰ ਕੀ ਛਾਈ ॥
Jo Dheesai So Sagal Binaasai Jio Baadhar Kee Shhaaee ||
जो दीसै सो सगल बिनासै जिउ बादर की छाई ॥
ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਦਾ ਦਿਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਂਣਾਂ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੱਦਲ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ॥
Whatever is seen, shall all pass away, like the shadow of a cloud.
9449 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਹਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥
Jan Naanak Jag Jaaniou Mithhiaa Rehiou Raam Saranaaee ||2||2||
जन नानक जगु जानिओ मिथिआ रहिओ राम सरनाई ॥२॥२॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਉਹੀ ਤੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ||2||2||
Sathigur Nanak, one who knows the world to be unreal, dwells in the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||2||2||

प्रानी कउ हरि जसु मनि नही आवै ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਕੇ, ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ॥
The Praise of the God does not come to dwell in the minds of the mortal beings.
9452 ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਮਗਨੁ ਰਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੈ ਕਹੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ahinis Magan Rehai Maaeiaa Mai Kahu Kaisae Gun Gaavai ||1|| Rehaao ||
अहिनिसि मगनु रहै माइआ मै कहु कैसे गुन गावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ, ਚੌਵੀ ਘੰਟੇ, ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਧੰਨ ਇੱਕਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਿਵੇ ਕਰੇ? ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Day and night, they remain engrossed in Maya. Tell me, how can they sing God's Glories? ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
9453 ਪੂਤ ਮੀਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਪੁ ਬੰਧਾਵੈ ॥
Pooth Meeth Maaeiaa Mamathaa Sio Eih Bidhh Aap Bandhhaavai ||
पूत मीत माइआ ममता सिउ इह बिधि आपु बंधावै ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸਾਥੀਆਂ, ਧੰਨ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰਾ ਇੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦਾ ਫਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In this way, they bind themselves to children, friends, Maya and possessiveness.
9454 ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਝੂਠੋ ਇਹੁ ਜਗ ਦੇਖਿ ਤਾਸਿ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Mrig Thrisanaa Jio Jhootho Eihu Jag Dhaekh Thaas Outh Dhhaavai ||1||
म्रिग त्रिसना जिउ झूठो इहु जग देखि तासि उठि धावै ॥१॥
ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੱਮਕਦੇ ਰੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ. ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੱਥ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ||1||
Like the deer's delusion, this world is false; and yet, beholding it, they chase after it. ||1||
9455 ਭੁਗਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਾ ਕਾਰਨੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੂੜ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਿਸਰਾਵੈ ॥
Bhugath Mukath Kaa Kaaran Suaamee Moorr Thaahi Bisaraavai ||
भुगति मुकति का कारनु सुआमी मूड़ ताहि बिसरावै ॥
ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ-ਅੰਨਦ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਗਲੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਬੇਸਮਝ ਬੰਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
God is the source of pleasures and liberation; and yet, the fool forgets Him.
9456 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋਟਨ ਮੈ ਕੋਊ ਭਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥

जन नानक कोटन मै कोऊ भजनु राम को पावै ॥२॥३॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ-ਬਚ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||3||
Sathigur Nanak, among millions, there is scarcely one who attains the God 's meditation. ||2||3||

ਸਾਧ ਬੱਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ॥
Saadhus, this mind cannot be restrained.
9459 ਚੰਚਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

चंचल त्रिसना संगि बसतु है या ते थिरु न रहाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਾਲਚ ਬੱਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਹਿਲਿਆ-ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Fickle desires dwell with it, and so it cannot remain steady. ||1||Pause||
9460 ਕਠਨ ਕਰੋਧ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜਿਹ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਭ ਬਿਸਰਾਈ ॥
Kathan Karodhh Ghatt Hee Kae Bheethar Jih Sudhh Sabh Bisaraaee ||
कठन करोध घट ही के भीतरि जिह सुधि सभ बिसराई ॥
ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੀੰਦੇ ਹਨਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
The heart is filled with anger and violence, which cause all sense to be forgotten.
9461 ਰਤਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਹਿਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੧॥

रतनु गिआनु सभ को हिरि लीना ता सिउ कछु न बसाई ॥१॥
ਗੁੱਸੇ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਚਂਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਕੇ, ਬੰਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਬਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ||1||
The jewel of spiritual wisdom has been taken away from everyone; nothing can withstand it. ||1||
9462 ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਰੇ ਗੁਨੀ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥

जोगी जतन करत सभि हारे गुनी रहे गुन गाई ॥
ਸਾਧ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਾਰੇ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੱਕਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ॥
The Yogis have tried everything and failed; the virtuous have grown weary of singing God's Glories.
9463 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਤਉ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੨॥੪॥

ਐਨੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਜਨਮ, ਅੱਕਲ, ਸੋਚਣ ਤੇ ਆਪਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸਾਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਇਕਠੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਥੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਅੰਨਦ-ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਦਰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਾਂ ਸਮਝੇ। ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਲਣ ਨਾਂ ਦੇਵੇ॥

उसतति निंदा दोऊ तिआगै खोजै पदु निरबाना ॥
ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਤੇ ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਦੀਆ ਗੱਲਾਂ, ਨਾਂ ਆਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੰਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Renounce both praise and blame. seek instead the state of Nirvaanaa.

The mortal beings are held in the power of sexual desire, anger and emotional attachment; they have forgotten the God, the Immortal Form.
9447 ਝੂਠਾ ਤਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਜਿਉ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਰੈਨਾਈ ॥੧॥

The body is false, but they believe it to be true; it is like a dream in the night. ||1||

Whatever is seen, shall all pass away, like the shadow of a cloud.

ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ, ਚੌਵੀ ਘੰਟੇ, ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਧੰਨ ਇੱਕਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਿਵੇ ਕਰੇ? ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Pooth Meeth Maaeiaa Mamathaa Sio Eih Bidhh Aap Bandhhaavai ||
पूत मीत माइआ ममता सिउ इह बिधि आपु बंधावै ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸਾਥੀਆਂ, ਧੰਨ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰਾ ਇੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦਾ ਫਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In this way, they bind themselves to children, friends, Maya and possessiveness.

म्रिग त्रिसना जिउ झूठो इहु जग देखि तासि उठि धावै ॥१॥
ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਚੱਮਕਦੇ ਰੇਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ. ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੱਥ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ||1||
Like the deer's delusion, this world is false; and yet, beholding it, they chase after it. ||1||

ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ-ਅੰਨਦ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਗਲੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਬੇਸਮਝ ਬੰਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
God is the source of pleasures and liberation; and yet, the fool forgets Him.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ-ਬਚ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||3||
Sathigur Nanak, among millions, there is scarcely one who attains the God 's meditation. ||2||3||

ਸਾਧ ਬੱਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ॥
Saadhus, this mind cannot be restrained.
9459 ਚੰਚਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਾਲਚ ਬੱਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਹਿਲਿਆ-ਭੱਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Fickle desires dwell with it, and so it cannot remain steady. ||1||Pause||
9460 ਕਠਨ ਕਰੋਧ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜਿਹ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਭ ਬਿਸਰਾਈ ॥

कठन करोध घट ही के भीतरि जिह सुधि सभ बिसराई ॥
ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੀੰਦੇ ਹਨਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
The heart is filled with anger and violence, which cause all sense to be forgotten.
9461 ਰਤਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਹਿਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੧॥

रतनु गिआनु सभ को हिरि लीना ता सिउ कछु न बसाई ॥१॥
ਗੁੱਸੇ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਚਂਗੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੁੱਕਾ ਕੇ, ਬੰਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਬਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ||1||
The jewel of spiritual wisdom has been taken away from everyone; nothing can withstand it. ||1||
9462 ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਰੇ ਗੁਨੀ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥

जोगी जतन करत सभि हारे गुनी रहे गुन गाई ॥
ਸਾਧ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਾਰੇ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੱਕਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ॥
The Yogis have tried everything and failed; the virtuous have grown weary of singing God's Glories.
9463 ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਤਉ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੨॥੪॥

जन नानक हरि भए दइआला तउ सभ बिधि बनि आई ॥२॥४॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਣ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਬੱਬ-ਤਰੀਕਾ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ||2||4||
Sathigur Nanak, when the God becomes merciful, then every effort is successful. ||2||4||

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਰੀ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਕਹਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਉ, ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰੀਏ॥

मानस जनमु अमोलकु पाइओ बिरथा काहि गवावउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਐਨੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਜਨਮ, ਅੱਕਲ, ਸੋਚਣ ਤੇ ਆਪਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸਾਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਇਕਠੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਥੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
You have obtained the priceless jewel of this human life; why are you uselessly wasting it? ||1||Pause||
9467 ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਦੀਨ ਬੰਧ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਆਵਉ ॥

पतित पुनीत दीन बंध हरि सरनि ताहि तुम आवउ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਉਨਾਂ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ, ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ, ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਵੋ॥
He is the Purifier of sinners, the Friend of the poor. Come, and enter the God's Sanctuary.
9468 ਗਜ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਾਸੁ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਹੇ ਬਿਸਰਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
Gaj Ko Thraas Mittiou Jih Simarath Thum Kaahae Bisaraavo ||1||
गज को त्रासु मिटिओ जिह सिमरत तुम काहे बिसरावउ ॥१॥
ਜਿਸ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਕੇ, ਹਾਥੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ?||1||
Remembering God, the elephant's fear was removed; so why do you forget Him? ||1||
9469 ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਫੁਨਿ ਭਜਨ ਰਾਮ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਉ ॥
Thaj Abhimaan Moh Maaeiaa Fun Bhajan Raam Chith Laavo ||
तजि अभिमान मोह माइआ फुनि भजन राम चितु लावउ ॥
ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੀਏ॥
Renounce your egotistical pride and your emotional attachment to Maya; focus your consciousness on the Lord's meditation.
9470 ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪੰਥ ਇਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਤੁਮ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੨॥੫॥
Naanak Kehath Mukath Panthh Eihu Guramukh Hoe Thum Paavo ||2||5||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸੇਧ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ||2||5||
Says Sathigur Nanak, this is the path to liberation. Become Gurmukh, and attain it. ||2||5||
