ब्रहम गिआनी एक ऊपरि आस ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਨ। ਨਾਂ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ, ਬੀਬੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਂ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ, ਦੁੱਧ, ਖੀਰ, ਕੜਾਹ ਪੂ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਨ।
The God-conscious being centers his hopes on the One alone.

ब्रहम गिआनी कै गरीबी समाहा ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ, ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਰੁੱਖੀ-ਮੀਸੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ, ਸਾਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The God-conscious being is steeped in humility.

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਬ ਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ॥

ब्रहम गिआनी कै नाही धंधा ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਧੰਨ, ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦਾ॥
The God-conscious being has no worldly entanglements.
12223 ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਲੇ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਬੰਧਾ ॥
Breham Giaanee Lae Dhhaavath Bandhhaa ||
ब्रहम गिआनी ले धावतु बंधा ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ, ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੌਲਤ ਵੱਲੋ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਧੰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ॥
The God-conscious being holds his wandering mind under control.

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਭਲਾਮਾਣ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ, ਲੋਕ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਖੀ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਂਮਜ਼ਾਬ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ॥
The God-conscious being blossoms in fruitfulness.

ब्रहम गिआनी संगि सगल उधारु ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਗੀ-ਸਾਕਾਂ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ, ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ, ਭਵਜਲ ਤਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In the Company of the God-conscious being, all are saved.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਭਗਵਾਨ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਬੋਲਣ, ਗਾਉਣ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੋਲੋ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ-ਸਤਿਨਾਮ, ਰਾਮ-ਰਾਮ ਅੱਲਾ ਹੀ ਅੱਲਾ। ਰੱਬਾ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਇਕੱਲਾ ||4||

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ, ਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਦਾ ਹੈ।॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ, ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ, ਖੇੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In the home of the God-conscious being, there is everlasting bliss.

ब्रहम गिआनी का निरमल मंत ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁਨੇਹੇ, ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾ ਉਜਲੀਆਂ-ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਸਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥

The God-conscious being is gloriously great.

ब्रहम गिआनी का दरसु बडभागी पाईऐ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਉਜਲਾ-ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the God-conscious being, is obtained by great good fortune.

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਦੀ ਗਿਆਨ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੇ॥
The God-conscious being cannot be appraised.

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਨ। ਨਾਂ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ, ਬੀਬੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਂ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ, ਦੁੱਧ, ਖੀਰ, ਕੜਾਹ ਪੂ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਨ।

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ, ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੌਲਤ ਵੱਲੋ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਧੰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ, ਦੀ ਗਿਆਨ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੇ॥

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਗਤ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ, ਆਰ-ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦੇ॥

12259 ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸਦ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਤਾ ॥

ब्रहम गिआनी सद जीवै नही मरता ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਜੰਮਦਾ-ਮਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥

12260 ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥

ब्रहम गिआनी मुकति जुगति जीअ का दाता ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ, ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਭਵਜਲ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The God-conscious being is the Giver of the way of liberation of the soul.

The God-conscious being is the helper of the helpless.

ब्रहम गिआनी का सगल अकारु ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਣਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The God-conscious being owns the entire creation.
12265 ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥

ब्रहम गिआनी आपि निरंकारु ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਹੈ॥
The God-conscious being is himself the Formless Lord.
12266 ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਬਨੀ ॥
Breham Giaanee Kee Sobhaa Breham Giaanee Banee ||
ब्रहम गिआनी की सोभा ब्रहम गिआनी बनी ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
The glory of the God-conscious being belongs to the God-conscious being alone.
