Gan Min Dhaekhahu Manai Maahi Sarapar Chalano Log ||
गनि मिनि देखहु मनै माहि सरपर चलनो लोग ॥
ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਖੋ, ਸਾਰੇੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਣਾ ਹੈ।
See, that even by calculating and scheming in their minds, people must surely depart in the end.

Hopes and desires for transitory things are erased for the Gurmukh, Sathigur Nanak, the Name alone brings true health. ||1||

गगा गोबिद गुण रवहु सासि सासि जपि नीत ॥
ਗਗਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਪਲ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੀਰੇ।
GAGGA: Chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe with each and every breath; meditate on Him forever.
11133 ਕਹਾ ਬਿਸਾਸਾ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਕਰਿਹੋ ਮੀਤ ॥
Kehaa Bisaasaa Dhaeh Kaa Bilam N Kariho Meeth ||
कहा बिसासा देह का बिलम न करिहो मीत ॥
ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਦੋਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਕਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ॥
How can you rely on the body? Do not delay, my friend;
11134 ਨਹ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਨਹ ਜੋਬਨੈ ਨਹ ਬਿਰਧੀ ਕਛੁ ਬੰਧੁ ॥
Neh Baarik Neh Jobanai Neh Biradhhee Kashh Bandhh ||
नह बारिक नह जोबनै नह बिरधी कछु बंधु ॥
ਮੌਤ ਬਚਪਨ, ਜਵਾਨੀ, ਬੁੱਢਾਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ॥
There is nothing to stand in Death's way - neither in childhood, nor in youth, nor in old age.
11135 ਓਹ ਬੇਰਾ ਨਹ ਬੂਝੀਐ ਜਉ ਆਇ ਪਰੈ ਜਮ ਫੰਧੁ ॥
Ouh Baeraa Neh Boojheeai Jo Aae Parai Jam Fandhh ||
ओह बेरा नह बूझीऐ जउ आइ परै जम फंधु ॥
ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਕਦੋਂ ਜੰਮਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਲਾ ਦੇਣੀ ਹੈ॥
That time is not known, when the noose of Death shall come and fall on you.
11136 ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਚਤੁਰ ਪੇਖਿ ਰਹਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਹ ਠਾਇ ॥
Giaanee Dhhiaanee Chathur Paekh Rehan Nehee Eih Thaae ||
गिआनी धिआनी चतुर पेखि रहनु नही इह ठाइ ॥
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ, ਅੱਕਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਨੇ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹਿੱਣਾਂ॥
See, that even spiritual scholars, those who meditate, and those who are clever shall not stay in this place.
11137 ਛਾਡਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਗਈ ਮੂੜ ਤਹਾ ਲਪਟਾਹਿ ॥
Shhaadd Shhaadd Sagalee Gee Moorr Thehaa Lapattaahi ||
छाडि छाडि सगली गई मूड़ तहा लपटाहि ॥
ਬੇਸਮਝ ਤੂੰ ਉਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਠਿਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਮਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ॥
Only the fool clings to that, which everyone else has abandoned and left behind.
11138 ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹੈ ਜਾਹੂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ॥
Gur Prasaadh Simarath Rehai Jaahoo Masathak Bhaag ||
गुर प्रसादि सिमरत रहै जाहू मसतकि भाग ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹ ਰੱਬ-ਰੱਬ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
By Sathigur's Grace, one who has such good destiny written on his forehead remembers the Lord in meditation.

नानक आए सफल ते जा कउ प्रिअहि सुहाग ॥१९॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਉਣਾਂ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਤੀ, ਖ਼ਸਮ ਬੱਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ||19||
Sathigur Nanak, blessed and fruitful is the coming of those who obtain the Beloved Lord as their Husband. ||19||

घोखे सासत्र बेद सभ आन न कथतउ कोइ ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮਿਕ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੇਦ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹੀ ਕਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
I have searched all the Shaastras and the Vedas, and they say nothing except this.
11142 ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਹੁਣਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥

आदि जुगादी हुणि होवत नानक एकै सोइ ॥१॥

घघा घालहु मनहि एह बिनु हरि दूसर नाहि ॥
ਘਘਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਨਾਲ ਘਾਲਹੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ। ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
GHAGHA: Put this into your mind, that there is no one except the Lord.
11145 ਨਹ ਹੋਆ ਨਹ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਓਹੀ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥

नह होआ नह होवना जत कत ओही समाहि ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਣਾਂ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ॥
There never was, and there never shall be. He is pervading everywhere.
11146 ਘੂਲਹਿ ਤਉ ਮਨ ਜਉ ਆਵਹਿ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
Ghoolehi Tho Man Jo Aavehi Saranaa ||
घूलहि तउ मन जउ आवहि सरना ॥
ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਵੇਗਾ॥
You shall be absorbed into Him, O mind, if you come to His Sanctuary.
11147 ਨਾਮ ਤਤੁ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਪੁਨਹਚਰਨਾ ॥
Naam Thath Kal Mehi Punehacharanaa ||
नाम ततु कलि महि पुनहचरना ॥
ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਧੰਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, shall be of any real use to you.
11148 ਘਾਲਿ ਘਾਲਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ॥
Ghaal Ghaal Anik Pashhuthaavehi ||
घालि घालि अनिक पछुतावहि ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਬੰਦੇ ਧੰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਕੇ, ਧੰਨ ਕਮਾਂ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਪੱਛਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
So many work and slave continually, but they come to regret and repent in the end.
11149 ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥

बिनु हरि भगति कहा थिति पावहि ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ॥
Without devotional worship of the Lord, how can they find stability?
11150 ਘੋਲਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਿਹ ਪੀਆ ॥

घोलि महा रसु अम्रितु तिह पीआ ॥
ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਸ ਰੱਟ ਕੇ, ਮਨ ਨੇ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
They alone taste the supreme essence, and drink in the Ambrosial Nectar,
11151 ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ॥੨੦॥

Ngan Ghaalae Sabh Dhivas Saas Neh Badtan Ghattan Thil Saar ||
ङणि घाले सभ दिवस सास नह बढन घटन तिलु सार ॥
ਰੱਬ ਗਿੱਣ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਘੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਘੱਟਣਾਂ, ਵੱਧਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
God has counted all the days and the breaths, and placed them in people's destiny, they do not increase or decrease one little bit.
11154 ਜੀਵਨ ਲੋਰਹਿ ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਊ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥

जीवन लोरहि भरम मोह नानक तेऊ गवार ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਧੰਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਹੋਰ ਜਿਉਣਾਂ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ||1||
Those who long to live in doubt and emotional attachment, Sathigur Nanak, are total fools. ||1||

ङंङा ङ्रासै कालु तिह जो साकत प्रभि कीन ॥
ਙੰਙਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਨਾਲ ਙ੍ਰਾਸੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ, ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਭੁੱਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
NGANGA: Death seizes those whom God has made into faithless cynics.
11157 ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੀਨ ॥
Anik Jon Janamehi Marehi Aatham Raam N Cheen ||
अनिक जोनि जनमहि मरहि आतम रामु न चीन ॥
ਉਹ ਅੱਣ-ਗਿੱਣਤ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜੰਮਦੇ-ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ॥
They are born and they die, enduring countless incarnations; they do not realize the Lord, the Supreme Soul.
11158 ਙਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਤਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਆਏ ॥

ङिआन धिआन ताहू कउ आए ॥
ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਅੱਕਲ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਕਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
They alone find spiritual wisdom and meditation,
11159 ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਹ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Jih Aap Dhivaaeae ||
करि किरपा जिह आपि दिवाए ॥
ਇਹ ਸਬ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਤਰਸ ਕਰਕੇ, ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy;
11160 ਙਣਤੀ ਙਣੀ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਊ ਛੂਟੈ ॥
Nganathee Nganee Nehee Kooo Shhoottai ||
ङणती ङणी नही कोऊ छूटै ॥
ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ॥
No one is emancipated by counting and calculating.
11161 ਕਾਚੀ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਸਰਪਰ ਫੂਟੈ ॥
Kaachee Gaagar Sarapar Foottai ||
काची गागरि सरपर फूटै ॥
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਣਾਂ ਹੈ॥
The vessel of clay shall surely break.
11162 ਸੋ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਿਹ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਪਿਆ ॥
So Jeevath Jih Jeevath Japiaa ||
सो जीवत जिह जीवत जपिआ ॥
ਉਹੀ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
They alone live, who, while alive, meditate on the Lord.
11163 ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਛਪਿਆ ॥੨੧॥

प्रगट भए नानक नह छपिआ ॥२१॥
ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਛੁੱਪਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ, ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ||21||
They are respected, Sathigur Nanak, and do not remain hidden. ||21||

ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤ ਕੇ, ਅੰਨਦਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Focus your consciousness on His Lotus Feet, and the inverted lotus of your heart shall blossom forth.

CHACHA: I became attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet.
11169 ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਉਆ ਦਿਨ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਸਭਾਗਾ ॥

धनि धनि उआ दिन संजोग सभागा ॥
ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਭਾਗਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝੀਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Blessed blessed is that day when I became attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet.

ਬੰਦਾ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਦਸੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਫਿਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
After wandering around in the four quarters and the ten directions,

ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
God showed His Mercy to me, and then I obtained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.

By pure lifestyle and meditation, all duality is removed.

साधसंगि मनु निरमल हूआ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ, ਜਾਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the mind becomes immaculate.

Anxieties are forgotten, and the One Lord alone is seen,

The heart is cooled and soothed, and the mind is at peace, chanting and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਲੇ ਨੇ, ਊਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਵਰਕੇ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ॥
Even a puppet of ashes attains the supreme status,

See, that even by calculating and scheming in their minds, people must surely depart in the end.

GAGGA: Chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe with each and every breath; meditate on Him forever.
11133 ਕਹਾ ਬਿਸਾਸਾ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਕਰਿਹੋ ਮੀਤ ॥
Kehaa Bisaasaa Dhaeh Kaa Bilam N Kariho Meeth ||
कहा बिसासा देह का बिलम न करिहो मीत ॥
ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਦੋਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਕਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ॥
How can you rely on the body? Do not delay, my friend;
11134 ਨਹ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਨਹ ਜੋਬਨੈ ਨਹ ਬਿਰਧੀ ਕਛੁ ਬੰਧੁ ॥
Neh Baarik Neh Jobanai Neh Biradhhee Kashh Bandhh ||
नह बारिक नह जोबनै नह बिरधी कछु बंधु ॥
ਮੌਤ ਬਚਪਨ, ਜਵਾਨੀ, ਬੁੱਢਾਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ॥
There is nothing to stand in Death's way - neither in childhood, nor in youth, nor in old age.
11135 ਓਹ ਬੇਰਾ ਨਹ ਬੂਝੀਐ ਜਉ ਆਇ ਪਰੈ ਜਮ ਫੰਧੁ ॥
Ouh Baeraa Neh Boojheeai Jo Aae Parai Jam Fandhh ||
ओह बेरा नह बूझीऐ जउ आइ परै जम फंधु ॥
ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਕਦੋਂ ਜੰਮਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਲਾ ਦੇਣੀ ਹੈ॥
That time is not known, when the noose of Death shall come and fall on you.
11136 ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਚਤੁਰ ਪੇਖਿ ਰਹਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਹ ਠਾਇ ॥
Giaanee Dhhiaanee Chathur Paekh Rehan Nehee Eih Thaae ||
गिआनी धिआनी चतुर पेखि रहनु नही इह ठाइ ॥
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ, ਅੱਕਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਨੇ, ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹਿੱਣਾਂ॥
See, that even spiritual scholars, those who meditate, and those who are clever shall not stay in this place.
11137 ਛਾਡਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਗਈ ਮੂੜ ਤਹਾ ਲਪਟਾਹਿ ॥
Shhaadd Shhaadd Sagalee Gee Moorr Thehaa Lapattaahi ||
छाडि छाडि सगली गई मूड़ तहा लपटाहि ॥
ਬੇਸਮਝ ਤੂੰ ਉਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਠਿਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਮਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ॥
Only the fool clings to that, which everyone else has abandoned and left behind.
11138 ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹੈ ਜਾਹੂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ॥
Gur Prasaadh Simarath Rehai Jaahoo Masathak Bhaag ||
गुर प्रसादि सिमरत रहै जाहू मसतकि भाग ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹ ਰੱਬ-ਰੱਬ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
By Sathigur's Grace, one who has such good destiny written on his forehead remembers the Lord in meditation.
11139 ਨਾਨਕ ਆਏ ਸਫਲ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅਹਿ ਸੁਹਾਗ ॥੧੯॥

नानक आए सफल ते जा कउ प्रिअहि सुहाग ॥१९॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਉਣਾਂ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਤੀ, ਖ਼ਸਮ ਬੱਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ||19||
Sathigur Nanak, blessed and fruitful is the coming of those who obtain the Beloved Lord as their Husband. ||19||

I have searched all the Shaastras and the Vedas, and they say nothing except this.
11142 ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਹੁਣਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥

11145 ਨਹ ਹੋਆ ਨਹ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਓਹੀ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
Neh Hoaa Neh Hovanaa Jath Kath Ouhee Samaahi ||
नह होआ नह होवना जत कत ओही समाहि ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਣਾਂ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ॥
There never was, and there never shall be. He is pervading everywhere.
11146 ਘੂਲਹਿ ਤਉ ਮਨ ਜਉ ਆਵਹਿ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
Ghoolehi Tho Man Jo Aavehi Saranaa ||
घूलहि तउ मन जउ आवहि सरना ॥
ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਅੰਨਦ ਮਾਂਣਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਲਵੇਗਾ॥
You shall be absorbed into Him, O mind, if you come to His Sanctuary.
11147 ਨਾਮ ਤਤੁ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਪੁਨਹਚਰਨਾ ॥
Naam Thath Kal Mehi Punehacharanaa ||
नाम ततु कलि महि पुनहचरना ॥
ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਧੰਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ॥
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, shall be of any real use to you.
11148 ਘਾਲਿ ਘਾਲਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ॥
Ghaal Ghaal Anik Pashhuthaavehi ||
घालि घालि अनिक पछुतावहि ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਬੰਦੇ ਧੰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਕੇ, ਧੰਨ ਕਮਾਂ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਪੱਛਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ॥
So many work and slave continually, but they come to regret and repent in the end.
11149 ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
Bin Har Bhagath Kehaa Thhith Paavehi ||
बिनु हरि भगति कहा थिति पावहि ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ॥
Without devotional worship of the Lord, how can they find stability?
11150 ਘੋਲਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਿਹ ਪੀਆ ॥

घोलि महा रसु अम्रितु तिह पीआ ॥
ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਸ ਰੱਟ ਕੇ, ਮਨ ਨੇ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ॥
They alone taste the supreme essence, and drink in the Ambrosial Nectar,
11151 ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ॥੨੦॥

Ngan Ghaalae Sabh Dhivas Saas Neh Badtan Ghattan Thil Saar ||
ङणि घाले सभ दिवस सास नह बढन घटन तिलु सार ॥
ਰੱਬ ਗਿੱਣ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਘੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਘੱਟਣਾਂ, ਵੱਧਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
God has counted all the days and the breaths, and placed them in people's destiny, they do not increase or decrease one little bit.
11154 ਜੀਵਨ ਲੋਰਹਿ ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਊ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥

जीवन लोरहि भरम मोह नानक तेऊ गवार ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਲਿਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਧੰਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਹੋਰ ਜਿਉਣਾਂ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ||1||
Those who long to live in doubt and emotional attachment, Sathigur Nanak, are total fools. ||1||

ਙੰਙਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਨਾਲ ਙ੍ਰਾਸੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ, ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਭੁੱਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ॥
NGANGA: Death seizes those whom God has made into faithless cynics.
11157 ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੀਨ ॥
Anik Jon Janamehi Marehi Aatham Raam N Cheen ||
अनिक जोनि जनमहि मरहि आतम रामु न चीन ॥
ਉਹ ਅੱਣ-ਗਿੱਣਤ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜੰਮਦੇ-ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ॥
They are born and they die, enduring countless incarnations; they do not realize the Lord, the Supreme Soul.
11158 ਙਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਤਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਆਏ ॥

ङिआन धिआन ताहू कउ आए ॥
ਰੱਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਅੱਕਲ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਕਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
They alone find spiritual wisdom and meditation,
11159 ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਹ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥

करि किरपा जिह आपि दिवाए ॥
ਇਹ ਸਬ ਰੱਬ ਆਪ ਤਰਸ ਕਰਕੇ, ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy;
11160 ਙਣਤੀ ਙਣੀ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਊ ਛੂਟੈ ॥
Nganathee Nganee Nehee Kooo Shhoottai ||
ङणती ङणी नही कोऊ छूटै ॥
ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ॥
No one is emancipated by counting and calculating.
11161 ਕਾਚੀ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਸਰਪਰ ਫੂਟੈ ॥

काची गागरि सरपर फूटै ॥
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਣਾਂ ਹੈ॥
The vessel of clay shall surely break.
11162 ਸੋ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਿਹ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਪਿਆ ॥
So Jeevath Jih Jeevath Japiaa ||
सो जीवत जिह जीवत जपिआ ॥
ਉਹੀ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੱਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
They alone live, who, while alive, meditate on the Lord.
11163 ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਛਪਿਆ ॥੨੧॥

प्रगट भए नानक नह छपिआ ॥२१॥
ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਛੁੱਪਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ, ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ||21||
They are respected, Sathigur Nanak, and do not remain hidden. ||21||

चिति चितवउ चरणारबिंद ऊध कवल बिगसांत ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤ ਕੇ, ਅੰਨਦਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Focus your consciousness on His Lotus Feet, and the inverted lotus of your heart shall blossom forth.

ਚਚਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਙ੍ਰਾਸੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਲੱਗਾ॥
CHACHA: I became attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet.
11169 ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਉਆ ਦਿਨ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਸਭਾਗਾ ॥

धनि धनि उआ दिन संजोग सभागा ॥
ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਭਾਗਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝੀਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Blessed blessed is that day when I became attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet.
11170 ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ॥

चारि कुंट दह दिसि भ्रमि आइओ ॥
ਬੰਦਾ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਦਸੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਫਿਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
After wandering around in the four quarters and the ten directions,
11171 ਭਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤਬ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
Bhee Kirapaa Thab Dharasan Paaeiou ||
भई क्रिपा तब दरसनु पाइओ ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ॥
God showed His Mercy to me, and then I obtained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.
11172 ਚਾਰ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਭ ਦੂਆ ॥

चार बिचार बिनसिओ सभ दूआ ॥
ਮਨ ਦੇ ਧੰਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥
By pure lifestyle and meditation, all duality is removed.
11173 ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੂਆ ॥

साधसंगि मनु निरमल हूआ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ, ਜਾਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the mind becomes immaculate.
11174 ਚਿੰਤ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੇਤਾ ॥
Chinth Bisaaree Eaek Dhrisattaethaa ||
चिंत बिसारी एक द्रिसटेता ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਂ, ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ, ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥
Anxieties are forgotten, and the One Lord alone is seen,
11175 ਨਾਨਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਜਿਹ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾ ॥੨੨॥

नानक गिआन अंजनु जिह नेत्रा ॥२२॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਰੱਬੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||22||
Sathigur Nanak, by those whose eyes are anointed with the ointment of spiritual wisdom. ||22||

छाती सीतल मनु सुखी छंत गोबिद गुन गाइ ॥
ਜਾਨ, ਹਿਰਦਾ, ਸੀਨਾ ਅੰਦਨਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰੀਏ॥
The heart is cooled and soothed, and the mind is at peace, chanting and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

CHHACHHA: I am Your child-slave.

I am the water-carrier of the slave of Your slaves.

छछा छारु होत तेरे संता ॥
ਰੱਬ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਧੂੜ ਬੱਣ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ॥
Chhachha: I long to become the dust under the feet of Your Saints.
11183 ਅਪਨੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥

छाडि सिआनप बहु चतुराई ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਕਲਾਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਈਏ॥
I have given up my excessive cleverness and scheming,
11185 ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਈ ॥

संतन की मन टेक टिकाई ॥
ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਤੱਕੀ ਹੈ॥
And I have taken the support of the Sathigur Saints as my mind's support.
11186 ਛਾਰੁ ਕੀ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਲੇ ਨੇ, ਊਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਵਰਕੇ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਹਾਂਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ॥
Even a puppet of ashes attains the supreme status,
