पंथु निहारै कामनी लोचन भरी ले उसासा ॥
ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ ਗਏ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿਚ ਔਰਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੇਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥

ਉਹ ਉੱਭੇ ਸਾਹ ਲੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਰਾਹ ਤੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਥੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਾਲਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ||1||

आस पास घन तुरसी का बिरवा माझ बना रसि गाऊं रे ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਆਸੇ-ਪਾਸੇ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਣੇ ਬੂਟੇ ਸਨ। ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥

ਜੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ? ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਹੋਇਆ? ||1||
What good does it do if a man burns incense before his gods? What good does it do to dip one's body in water? ||1||

गिआनी धिआनी बहु उपदेसी इहु जगु सगलो धंधा ॥
ਕੋਈ ਗਿਆਨ-ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
The spiritual teachers, meditators and the great preachers are all engrossed in these worldly affairs.

ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਾਂਣਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ, ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡਰਦਾਂ? ਹੁਣ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ॥
People, O victims of this Maya, abandon your doubts and dance out in the open.

सूरु कि सनमुख रन ते डरपै सती कि सांचै भांडे ॥१॥
ਉਹ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਕਾਹਦਾ, ਜੋ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮੱਣ ਤੋਂ ਡਰ ਜਾਏ? ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਸਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਜੋ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭਣ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਸਾਂਭਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ||1||
What sort of a hero is one who is afraid to face the battle? What sort of satee is she who, when her time comes, starts collecting her pots and pans? ||1||

काम क्रोध माइआ के लीने इआ बिधि जगतु बिगूता ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਪ-ਹੁਸਨ, ਕਾਮ ਨੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨੇ ਠੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
The world is engrossed in sexual desire, anger and Maya; in this way it is plundered and ruined.

संकटि नही परै जोनि नही आवै नामु निरंजन जा को रे ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ, ਨਿਰੰਜਨ, ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪ ਕਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥

ਕੋਈ ਗਿਆਨ-ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥

संकटि नही परै जोनि नही आवै नामु निरंजन जा को रे ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ, ਨਿਰੰਜਨ, ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪ ਕਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ, ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥
He does not fall into misfortune, and He does not take birth; His Name is the Immaculate Lord.
