16262 ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਆ ਜਹ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਹ ਰਾਖੁ ਤੁਹੀ ॥੫॥੧੯॥
Kehai Naanak Jeevaalae Jeeaa Jeh Bhaavai Theh Raakh Thuhee ||5||19||
कहै नानकु जीवाले जीआ जह भावै तह राखु तुही ॥५॥१९॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ||5||19||
Says Sathigur Nanak, He grants life to the living beings; O Lord, please keep me according to Your Will. ||5||19||

16264 ਕਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮਨੁ ਹੈ ਧੋਤੀ ॥
Kaaeiaa Brehamaa Man Hai Dhhothee ||
काइआ ब्रहमा मनु है धोती ॥
ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਉੱਚ-ਜਾਤੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਹੈ। ਪਵਿਤਰ ਮਨ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਹੈ ॥ 
Let the body be the Brahmin, and let the mind be the loin-cloth;
16265 ਗਿਆਨੁ ਜਨੇਊ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਕੁਸਪਾਤੀ ॥
Giaan Janaeoo Dhhiaan Kusapaathee ||
गिआनु जनेऊ धिआनु कुसपाती ॥
ਹੈ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ, ਡੂੰਘੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਜਨੇਊ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਦੱਭ ਦਾ ਛੱਲਾ ਹੈ ॥
Let spiritual wisdom be the sacred thread, and meditation the ceremonial ring.
16266 ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਜਸੁ ਜਾਚਉ ਨਾਉ ॥
Har Naamaa Jas Jaacho Naao ||
हरि नामा जसु जाचउ नाउ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥
I seek the Name of the Lord and His Praise as my cleansing bath.
16267 ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੧॥
Gur Parasaadhee Breham Samaao ||1||
गुर परसादी ब्रहमि समाउ ॥१॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣੇ ਰਹੋ ||1||
By Sathigur 's Grace, I am absorbed into God. ||1||
16268 ਪਾਂਡੇ ਐਸਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
Paanddae Aisaa Breham Beechaar ||
पांडे ऐसा ब्रहम बीचारु ॥

ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਪੰਡਤ, ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਚੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
Pandit, O religious scholar, contemplate God in such a way
16269 ਨਾਮੇ ਸੁਚਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਪੜਉ ਨਾਮੇ ਚਜੁ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Naamae Such Naamo Parro Naamae Chaj Aachaar ||1|| Rehaao ||
नामे सुचि नामो पड़उ नामे चजु आचारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹੀਏ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ, ਗਿਆਨ ਅਕਲਾਂ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
That His Name may sanctify you, that His Name may be your study, and His Name your wisdom and way of life. ||1||Pause||
16270 ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਨੇਊ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
Baahar Janaeoo Jichar Joth Hai Naal ||
बाहरि जनेऊ जिचरु जोति है नालि ॥
ਬਾਹਰਲਾ ਜਨੇਊ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਜਾਨ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥
The outer sacred thread is worthwhile only as long as the Divine Light is within.
16271 ਧੋਤੀ ਟਿਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
Dhhothee Ttikaa Naam Samaal ||
धोती टिका नामु समालि ॥
ਇਹੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਤੇ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖੀਏ ॥ 
So make the remembrance of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, your loin-cloth and the ceremonial mark on your forehead.
16272 ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
Aithhai Outhhai Nibehee Naal ||
ऐथै ओथै निबही नालि ॥
ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਥ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Here and hereafter, the Name alone shall stand by you.
16273 ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਨ ਭਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
Vin Naavai Hor Karam N Bhaal ||2||
विणु नावै होरि करम न भालि ॥२॥
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਨਾ ਟੋਲਿਆ ਕਰ ||2||

Do not seek any other actions, except the Name. ||2||
16274 ਪੂਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਾਇਆ ਪਰਜਾਲਿ ॥
Poojaa Praem Maaeiaa Parajaal ||
पूजा प्रेम माइआ परजालि ॥
ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ, ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਦੇ ॥
Worship the Lord in loving adoration, and burn your desire for Maya.
16275 ਏਕੋ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਭਾਲਿ ॥
Eaeko Vaekhahu Avar N Bhaal ||
एको वेखहु अवरु न भालि ॥
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਇਕ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਲੱਭ ॥
Behold only the One Lord, and do not seek out any other.
16276 ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੈ ਤਤੁ ਗਗਨ ਦਸ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
Cheenhai Thath Gagan Dhas Dhuaar ||
चीन्है ततु गगन दस दुआर ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼, ਦਸਵੇਂ ਦੁਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥
Become aware of reality, in the Sky of the Tenth Gate;
16277 ਹਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਠ ਪੜੈ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥੩॥

Har Mukh Paath Parrai Beechaar ||3||
हरि मुखि पाठ पड़ै बीचार ॥३॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੱਬੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੋਲਦਾ, ਬਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ||3||

Read aloud the Lord's Word, and contemplate it. ||3||

16278 ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
Bhojan Bhaao Bharam Bho Bhaagai ||
भोजनु भाउ भरमु भउ भागै ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਪਖੰਡ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਭੋਗ, ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭੱਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਡਰ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ 
With the diet of His Love, doubt and fear depart.
16279 ਪਾਹਰੂਅਰਾ ਛਬਿ ਚੋਰੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
Paaharooaraa Shhab Chor N Laagai ||
पाहरूअरा छबि चोरु न लागै ॥
ਰਾਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਚੋਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ ॥
With the Lord as your night watchman, no thief will dare to break in.
16280 ਤਿਲਕੁ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ॥
Thilak Lilaatt Jaanai Prabh Eaek ||
तिलकु लिलाटि जाणै प्रभु एकु ॥
ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਕ ਰੱਬ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ  ਹੈ ॥

Let the knowledge of the One God be the ceremonial mark on your forehead.
16281 ਬੂਝੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੁ ॥੪॥
Boojhai Breham Anthar Bibaek ||4||
बूझै ब्रहमु अंतरि बिबेकु ॥४॥
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ-ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ||4||
Let the realization that God is within you be your discrimination. ||4||
16282 ਆਚਾਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Aachaaree Nehee Jeethiaa Jaae ||
आचारी नही जीतिआ जाइ ॥
ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥
Through ritual actions, God cannot be won over;
16283 ਪਾਠ ਪੜੈ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
Paath Parrai Nehee Keemath Paae ||
पाठ पड़ै नही कीमति पाइ ॥
ਵੇਦ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ॥
By reciting sacred scriptures, His value cannot be estimated.
16284 ਅਸਟ ਦਸੀ ਚਹੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Asatt Dhasee Chahu Bhaedh N Paaeiaa ||
असट दसी चहु भेदु न पाइआ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
The eighteen Puraanas and the four Vedas do not know His mystery.
16285 ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੨੦॥
Naanak Sathigur Breham Dhikhaaeiaa ||5||20||
नानक सतिगुरि ब्रहमु दिखाइआ ॥५॥२०॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਰੱਬ ਬੰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ||5||20||

Sathigur Nanak, the True Guru has shown me the Lord God. ||5||20||
16286 ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

16287 ਸੇਵਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
Saevak Dhaas Bhagath Jan Soee ||
सेवकु दासु भगतु जनु सोई ॥
ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
He alone is the selfless servant, slave and humble devotee,
16288 ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
Thaakur Kaa Dhaas Guramukh Hoee ||
ठाकुर का दासु गुरमुखि होई ॥
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਸਲ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ, ਦਾਸ, ਭਗਤ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ, ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
Who as Gurmukh, becomes the slave of his Lord and Master.
16289 ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥
Jin Sir Saajee Thin Fun Goee ||
जिनि सिरि साजी तिनि फुनि गोई ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥

He, who created the Universe, shall ultimately destroy it.
16290 ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥
This Bin Dhoojaa Avar N Koee ||1||
तिसु बिनु दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥१॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ||1||
Without Him, there is no other at all. ||1||
16291 ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
Saach Naam Gur Sabadh Veechaar ||
साचु नामु गुर सबदि वीचारि ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰੀਏ ॥ 
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Gurmukh reflects upon the True Name;
16292 ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Guramukh Saachae Saachai Dharabaar ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुरमुखि साचे साचै दरबारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਸੱਚੇ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

In the True Court, he is found to be true. ||1||Pause||
16293 ਸਚਾ ਅਰਜੁ ਸਚੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
Sachaa Araj Sachee Aradhaas ||
सचा अरजु सची अरदासि ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਅਸਲ ਹੈ ॥ 
The true supplication, the true prayer
16294 ਮਹਲੀ ਖਸਮੁ ਸੁਣੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
Mehalee Khasam Sunae Saabaas ||
महली खसमु सुणे साबासि ॥

ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੱਚੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
- within the Mansion of His Sublime Presence, the True Lord Master hears and applauds these.
16295 ਸਚੈ ਤਖਤਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
Sachai Thakhath Bulaavai Soe ||
सचै तखति बुलावै सोइ ॥
ਸਚੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
He summons the truthful to His Heavenly Throne
16296 ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
Dhae Vaddiaaee Karae S Hoe ||2||
दे वडिआई करे सु होइ ॥२॥
ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਂਣ ਆਦਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||
And bestows glorious greatness upon them; that which He wills, comes to pass. ||2||
16297 ਤੇਰਾ ਤਾਣੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥
Thaeraa Thaan Thoohai Dheebaan ||
तेरा ताणु तूहै दीबाणु ॥
ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੈ,ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥
The Power is Yours; You are my only Support.
16298 ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥
Gur Kaa Sabadh Sach Neesaan ||
गुर का सबदु सचु नीसाणु ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਰੱਬ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਹਦਾਰੀ ਹੈ
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is my true password.
16299 ਮੰਨੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Mannae Hukam S Paragatt Jaae ||
मंने हुकमु सु परगटु जाइ ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
One who obeys the Hukam of the Lord's Command, goes to Him openly.
16300 ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੈ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
Sach Neesaanai Thaak N Paae ||3||
सचु नीसाणै ठाक न पाइ ॥३॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਰਾਹ ਦਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ||3||
With the password of truth, his way is not blocked. ||3||
16301 ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਵੇਦੁ ॥
Panddith Parrehi Vakhaanehi Vaedh ||
पंडित पड़हि वखाणहि वेदु ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਦ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

The Pandit reads and expounds on the Vedas.

16302 ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਭੇਦੁ ॥
Anthar Vasath N Jaanehi Bhaedh ||
अंतरि वसतु न जाणहि भेदु ॥
ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥
But he does not know the secret of the thing within himself.
16303 ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੋਝੀ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
Gur Bin Sojhee Boojh N Hoe ||
गुर बिनु सोझी बूझ न होइ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ॥
Without the Guru, understanding and realization are not obtained;
16304 ਸਾਚਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥
Saachaa Rav Rehiaa Prabh Soe ||4||
साचा रवि रहिआ प्रभु सोइ ॥४॥
ਰੱਬ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ, ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ||4||
But still God is True, pervading everywhere. ||4||
16305 ਕਿਆ ਹਉ ਆਖਾ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥
Kiaa Ho Aakhaa Aakh Vakhaanee ||
किआ हउ आखा आखि वखाणी ॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਾਂ? ਕੀ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂ? ॥
What should I say, or speak or describe?
16306 ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ॥
Thoon Aapae Jaanehi Sarab Viddaanee ||
तूं आपे जाणहि सरब विडाणी ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥
Only You Yourself know, O Lord of total wonder.
16307  ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਦਰੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ॥
Naanak Eaeko Dhar Dheebaan ||
नानक एको दरु दीबाणु ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ॥

16308 ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਤਹਾ ਗੁਦਰਾਣੁ ॥੫॥੨੧॥

गुरमुखि साचु तहा गुदराणु ॥५॥२१॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ||5||21||
There, at the True Door, the Gurmukhs sustain themselves. ||5||21||

Kaachee Gaagar Dhaeh Dhuhaelee Oupajai Binasai Dhukh Paaee ||
काची गागरि देह दुहेली उपजै बिनसै दुखु पाई ॥
ਸਰੀਰ ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੁਰਤ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਖੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰੀਰ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰਬਣਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ॥
The clay pitcher of the body is miserable; it suffer in pain through birth and death.
16311 ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
Eihu Jag Saagar Dhuthar Kio Thareeai Bin Har Gur Paar N Paaee ||1||
इहु जगु सागरु दुतरु किउ तरीऐ बिनु हरि गुर पारि न पाई ॥१॥
ਐਸਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਭਰੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ||1||
How can this terrifying world-ocean be crossed over? Without the Lord - Guru, it cannot be crossed. ||1||

16312 ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਹਰੇ ॥
Thujh Bin Avar N Koee Maerae Piaarae Thujh Bin Avar N Koe Harae ||
तुझ बिनु अवरु न कोई मेरे पिआरे तुझ बिनु अवरु न कोइ हरे ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ॥
Without You, there is no other at all, O my Beloved; without you, there is no other at all.
16313 ਸਰਬੀ ਰੰਗੀ ਰੂਪੀ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

सरबी रंगी रूपी तूंहै तिसु बखसे जिसु नदरि करे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ। ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥1॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ 
You are in all colors and forms; he alone is forgiven, upon whom You bestow Your Glance of Grace. ||1||Pause||
16314 ਸਾਸੁ ਬੁਰੀ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਨ ਦੇਵੈ ਪਿਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਣ ਨ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਰੀ ॥
Saas Buree Ghar Vaas N Dhaevai Pir Sio Milan N Dhaee Buree ||
सासु बुरी घरि वासु न देवै पिर सिउ मिलण न देइ बुरी ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਭੈੜੀ ਸੱਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ, ਰਹਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭਜਾਈ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥
Maya, my mother-in-law, is evil; she does not let me live in my own home. The vicious one does not let me meet with my Husband Lord.
16315 ਸਖੀ ਸਾਜਨੀ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥
Sakhee Saajanee Kae Ho Charan Saraevo Har Gur Kirapaa Thae Nadhar Dhharee ||2||
सखी साजनी के हउ चरन सरेवउ हरि गुर किरपा ते नदरि धरी ॥२॥
ਮੈਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ||2||
I serve at the feet of my companions and friends; the Lord has showered me with His Mercy, through Guru's Grace. ||2||
